When the news broke that New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman was himself an abuser of women, jaws dropped all across the country. The intimidation and physical abuse outlined in Ronan Farrow’s report is sickening. It is also something that must be read in it’s entirety to gain the full scope of how abusive and depraved Schneiderman is.

Four women, that we know of at this time, finally gained the courage to speak on the record about his abuse. It is abuse that included intimidation, belittling, racist taunts, hitting, slapping, choking/strangulation, and edged over the line into assault. The following is very hard to read, but as has been discovered, this has been a long-term pattern of abuse with whomever Schneiderman was dating at the time.

“All of a sudden, he just slapped me, open-handed and with great force, across the face, landing the blow directly onto my ear,” Manning Barish says. “It was horrendous. It just came out of nowhere. My ear was ringing. I lost my balance and fell backward onto the bed. I sprang up, but at this point there was very little room between the bed and him. I got up to try to shove him back, or take a swing, and he pushed me back down. He then used his body weight to hold me down, and he began to choke me. The choking was very hard. It was really bad. I kicked. In every fibre, I felt I was being beaten by a man.”

She finally freed herself and got back on her feet. “I was crying and in shock,” she says. She recalls shouting, “Are you crazy?” To her astonishment, Schneiderman accused her of scratching him. At one point—she can’t remember if it was at this moment or in a later conversation—he told her, “You know, hitting an officer of the law is a felony.”

This from a man cretin who has been all over the news as the dude who is going to take Harvey Weinstein down. This from the very same cretin who issued comments and tweets championing the #MeToo movement, which should really be named #IFoughtBack as these women now are.

This from a slime bucket who authored NY State laws in 2010 that specifically criminalized strangulation and penalized choking among others.

Schneiderman himself tried to pass this off as consensual and role playing.

Ronan Farrow was having none of that excuse.

The hypocrisy was too much for the survivors of Schneiderman’s horrific abuse. They went public and should absolutely be commended.

However, there are others who shouldn’t be.

You see, several of the women told their friends. At least one was told to SHUT UP. Yes, seriously. She was told to SHUT UP.

After the former girlfriend ended the relationship, she told several friends about the abuse. A number of them advised her to keep the story to herself, arguing that Schneiderman was too valuable a politician for the Democrats to lose. She described this response as heartbreaking. And when Schneiderman heard that she had turned against him, she said, he warned her that politics was a tough and personal business, and that she’d better be careful. She told Selvaratnam that she had taken this as a threat. [Emphasis Added]

That right there is just as heinous as Schneiderman’s abuse. Shut up they said. He’s too valuable a Democrat they said. So valuable that they cast all morals aside in the interest of putting politics ahead of the physical and mental safety of the women Schneiderman abused.

A traumatized woman was told by her so-called friends to keep the abuse a secret because DEMOCRATS are valuable! She and likely others were bullied into silence because DEMOCRAT Party and power above all else.

This highlights on of the external problems regarding sexual abuse and assault. When victims are told to SHUT UP because the abuser has “power” of some kind. It happened with Harvey Weinstein and its highly evident that it has happened here with Schneiderman.

The women who are speaking up should be commended for their bravery. Those who wanted it swept under the rug can go pound sand.
