Ohio has entered the ‘Hold my beer’ sweepstakes in epic fashion. Get vaccinated and you too will have a chance to win one million dollars!

“Ohio will give away $1 million each to five vaccinated adults within the coming weeks as an incentive for residents to get the shot, Gov. Mike DeWine announced on Wednesday.

The first drawing will occur on May 26, with subsequent drawings occurring each Wednesday for a total of five weeks. To win, participants must be 18 or older, an Ohio resident and vaccinated with at least one Covid vaccine dose before the lottery takes place. The five winners will receive $1 million from existing federal coronavirus relief funds, DeWine said.

Yes folks, you read the above correctly. 

Woohoo! Everyone run to the nearest hospital or pharmacy to get the jab! I mean, it isn’t every day that our taxpayer dollars are going to be used as a bribe to get people vaccinated from the Covid Wuhan Lung Flu rot! 

Oh, but wait, there’s more. Any teenager 17 years old or younger want a full-ride scholarship to one of the Ohio universities? Get the jab!

““Getting our 12- to 17-year-olds vaccinated is so important that we will have a separate incentive for them,” DeWine said. “On Wednesday, May 26th, we will announce the winner of a drawing of all those 17 years old and under who have been vaccinated, and the winner will receive a full, four-year scholarship to our State of Ohio universities. This will include tuition, room and board, and books.”

“On May 18th, an electronic portal will be opened up for young people who have been vaccinated to be able to register,” he continued. “We will do this every Wednesday, for five straight Wednesdays — each time randomly selecting one student to receive the full, four-year scholarship.”

You know, when the Governor admits that this is a crazy idea…

I know that some may say, “DeWine, you’re crazy! This million-dollar drawing idea of yours is a waste of money.” But truly, the real waste at this point in the pandemic — when the vaccine is readily available to anyone who wants it — is a life lost to COVID-19.

It’s so crazy it is stupidly ludicrous. 

First of all, there are reasons why there is vaccine hesitancy across this country. Our politicians, the CDC director, and that little toad named Fauci are directly responsible for much of the vaccine hesitation we are seeing around this country. Secondly, this push to get vaccinated so people can live normal lives flies in the face of all the people who’ve been working in the hospitals, the grocery stores, the big box stores (Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc), the construction companies, and others since day one of this idiotic pandemic. Third, rational reasonable people have realized that it is the ELDERLY and those with one or more comorbidities who are at risk from this new flu virus, therefore why should the healthy get vaccinated?

Ohio decides to bribe teenagers with scholarships and a chance at one million dollars. Can someone tell me why there haven’t been scholarships and lotteries offered for the regular flu, shingles, or chicken pox vaccine? What about offering a chance at a fully vested 529 fund for any infant who gets their regular vaccinations?

In addition to this being an absolutely ludicrous idea, what really chaps my hide is that MY tax dollars are being used to fund this lottery crap. 

Read the above news article quote again. Ohio is using FEDERAL funds to implement the lottery and scholarship program. 

How about just giving those federal funds BACK to the taxpayers? Sure, one million dollars or a chance at a full-ride scholarship sounds terrific. But you know what? I’d rather have my money back. 

So, I see where Ohio is holding a $1 million lottery for folks who got their Covid vaccine.

Now THERE’S an idea!

Quite frankly, I give it two weeks and then you’ll see Ohio governor Mike DeWine offering up additional vaccination bribes. Who knows? Maybe he’ll even offer up a chance to spin the wheel Price is Right! style and win that dream vacation you’ve always wanted!
