Obama’s Kwanzaa Greeting To The Nation

Obama’s Kwanzaa Greeting To The Nation

Barack Obama wants to extend his and Michelle’s warmest thoughts and wishes to all those who are celebrating Kwanzaa this holiday season. Really? Kwanzaa? A fake holiday created by a lunatic’s blend of 60’s rhetoric, black racism and Marxism? Well, in hindsight, I suppose it makes perfect sense!

Do you know the roots of this ‘holiday’? Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 by a black radical FBI snitch, Ron Everett, aka Dr. Maulana Karenga. Karenga was a founder of a group called, ‘United Slaves’, a violent nationalist rival to the equally violent Black Panthers. He created Kwanzaa while serving time in prison for torturing, yes torturing, 2 women in his group.

Though some call Kwanzaa, the black answer to Christmas, there is no religious symbolism – just the opposite. The seven ‘principles’ of Kwanzaa praise collectivism (a Marxist principle) in every possible arena of life such as economics, collective work & responsibility, and personality. In fact, Karenga has said he invented Kwanzaa to “give Blacks an alternative to the existing holiday and give Blacks an opportunity to celebrate themselves and history, rather than simply imitate the practice of the dominant society.”

Lovely man.

So, do you care about Kwanzaa? Well Obama and Michelle do. Here’s their greeting in part:

“Michelle and I extend our warmest thoughts and wishes to all those who are celebrating Kwanzaa this holiday season,” Obama said in a statement. “Today is the first of a joyful seven-day celebration of African-American culture and heritage. The seven principles of Kwanzaa — Unity, Self-Determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity and Faith — are some of the very values that make us Americans.”

“As families across America and around the world light the Kinara today in the spirit of umoja, or unity, our family sends our well wishes and blessings for a happy and healthy new year,”

Whatever. I expect no less from a phony interloper-president – who blatantly ignores Christian events – then to embrace a phony holiday with roots in Marxism. It’s really just more liberal multicultural spewing running amok, meant to divide us rather then unite us. I’d rather celebrate Festivus!

Hello, just wanted to mention a few points. kwanzaa was inspired by african culture not marx. collectivism is derived from the idea that african societies were/are generally socialized around communal practices as opposed to individualism.

“united slaves” was never used by the group. it was introduced by their rivals the black panthers and the u.s. govt. as a way of slandering karenga’s movement.

as for “lunatics” and “divisions” i think you are looking in the wrong direction. the panthers and karenga’s group were responses to the brutal oppression of African Americans. My mother still recalls very vividly the indignities of Jim Crow. GI

Don’t try to revise Ron Everett or his background. His criminal record and his activities prior to creating Kwanzaa are well documented. His secular, violent associations and personal belief system in Marxism was definitely influential in his creating this non-holiday. They were in response to brutal oppression? Torture of women in his group? Well that’s great isn’t it???? And Marxism DID inspire this non-holiday. His bio even states he became a Marxist and the principles in Kwanzaa are common in Marxism. Coincidence?

The creation of Kwanzaa was to further divide Black and White in this country, of that there is no doubt. Defend it all you want and practice it too for all I care but do it with eyes wide open without sugar coating the truth about it’s origin.

It is certainly true that African American freedom fighters of the 60s were influenced by Marxism but they had many influences besides Marx.

So was routine harassment and assaults be police officers a “violent association”? How about Jim Crow? How about real estate covenants? Sun down towns? America has been consistently violent towards its black citizens from 1619 forward. This is just a fact.

As someone who actually practices Kwanzaa and knows a bit about Marx I can assure you that Kwanzaa is not Marxist. Kwanzaa has little to do with Marxism. This is pretty obvious when you consider that Marxists don’t believe in God. In Kwanzaa we pour libations to the Gods and Ancestors.

Kwanzaa arose out of the black power movement and cultural nationalism inspired by Malcolm X. Anyone who has studied Kwanzaa in any detail knows this.

As for “dividing America” that is a stunning claim given that black people have been for most of our time in America property of white people (1620s-1865) and then “promoted” to second class citizens (1865-1950s). The math is very clear. The govt. not only “divided America” it subordinated black people and continues to do so. Kwanzaa will continue to necessary in so long as White Americans remain in denial about racism in America. kzs

i’m all for african americans wanting to celebrate and honor their african heritage – other people groups do so. however, my issue is the violent, racist origins of this holiday and how today, obama gives lip service to it while practically ignoring and certainly debasing christians and their practices in this country — a country founded on judeo christian principles.

  • kwame says:

America was founded on the annihilation of Native Americans and the enslavement of Africans. The “lip-service” came from the Founding Fathers, many of whom, by the way, were nominal Christians. As for the “violent, racist origins of this holiday” again you are looking in the wrong direction. the violence and racism was emanating from white americans and the US govt. kzs

  • kwame says:

forgot to mention that many of the “Founding Fathers” were also slave holders. kzs

“America was founded on the annihilation of Native Americans and the enslavement of Africans.”

Hey champ, you might want to hold off on the self righteous indignation routine, because last time I checked slavery is STILL alive and well on the continent of Africa. Also, if you want to see annihilation take a good look at Africa as well as they have been slaughtering each other for quite some time.

You know people all over this country celebrate Yom Kippur every year even though it is not a nationally recognized holiday, do you have a problem with that as well? I’m guessing you don’t which is why I can’t understand how you can possibly object to people celebrating Kwanzaa if they want to. Don’t you believe in tolerance?

yom kippur is not a racist holiday
