Decades ago, the late Michigan Senator Arthur Vandenberg gave a speech in which he stated that we must stop “partisan politics at the water’s edge.” Back in the olden days, we were all Americans. Today, our President is a “Citizen of the World”, as Barack Obama stated in his July, 2008 Berlin speech. Why shouldn’t he comment on the parochial Presidential race going on now. And, he did.

I admit that I have not jumped on the Trump Train. Donald J. Trump is not my first choice for President of the United States of America. Hale, Donald J. Trump is not my fifteenth choice for President. But, Barack Obama should shut his pie hole.
I was raised not to be disrespectful to the President of the United States in public. Around the dinner table, one could discuss what a miserable cur the nation’s leader was, but in public, be respectful. Well, boys and girls, we are over that one too.
Barack Obama, this morning, in Japan, at the G7 Summit made the comments in the video above. From NBCNews.com:
“They are not sure how seriously to take some of his pronouncements but they’re rattled by him — and for good reason, because a lot of the proposals that he’s made display either ignorance of world affairs or a cavalier attitude,” Obama added.
“Cavalier attitude”? That reminded me of the time that Dr. Charles Krauthammer told Fox News’ Harris Faulkner that Barack Obama had a “cavalier attitude” towards The Constitution.
Conservative political pundit Charles Krauthammer hammered President Barack Obama on Friday, saying he has taken a “very cavalier attitude” towards the United States Constitution and rule of law.
“I’m talking about how the administration, particularly the president, seems to think that he has right to change duly passed statutes on his own, or to suspend whole parts of laws on his own,” Krauthammer told Fox News’ Harris Faulkner. ”I mean, the constitution is pretty clear, the president executes the law and the Congress passes the laws.”
Cavalier attitude!
Then, Obama, in Japan, suggested
Trump’s controversial proposals were more about “getting tweets and headlines” than “actually thinking through” what’s needed to keep America safe or the “world on an even keel.”
Because the Obama Administration would never use Twitter to get headlines.
The Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Boka Haram in April 2014 sparked a Twitter campaign led by First Lady Michelle Obama. #BringBackOurGirls was a huge celebrity Twitter success. Zero girls were released. To date, only one of the Nigerian school girls has been found.
President Barack Obama is an arrogant, narcissist. He thinks he knows everything and that his every utterance is a perfect pearl of wisdom. Donald J. Trump is an arrogant, narcissist. He thinks he knows everything and that his every utterance is a perfect pearl of wisdom.
We need Arthur Vandenberg to rise from his grave and slap both these two around. He could tell them that we are Americans first and that partisan politics stops at the water’s edge. Maybe, he could tell them both to shut their pie holes.
A girl can dream, right?
Just got back from looking for George Bush’s comments about Obama during the 2008 election. I couldn’t find any.
The President is a punk.
BO’s foreign affairs experience was giving a speech, the contents of which was not reported, at a break between the bands at a free Rock ‘n Roll concert (which folks associated with his campaign paid to stage so it could be admission free and so attract a larger crowd to photograph) in Berlin. I don’t recall any reports of world leaders attending the event. So, on the issue ignorance of foreign affairs of candidates, perhaps he speaks with the knowledge that comes from personal experience.
