Nikki Haley Has Thoughts On Trump Verdict, Misses Big Picture

Well, Nikki Haley has opinions on everything these days. And most of those opinions center around Donald Trump. Now, after the E. Jean Carroll verdict, she took to the airwaves to let us know her thoughts.

Before I get into the substance of her tweet, and what’s missing from it, let’s recap.

E. Jean Carroll decided to tell the world that supposedly Donald Trump and she had a momentary fling in a department store dressing room way back in the day. A weaponized jury found him guilty. And then, E. Jean went after Trump for defamation. Said trial turned into one helluva ludicrous circus. Capped off with Trump stalking out of the courtroom.

Needless to say, any and all of the usual suspects are throwing big parties at this verdict. And that includes Nikki Haley who has decided that this case isn’t the most important thing in the grand scheme of all the things.

Don’t get me wrong, our border IS a very huge national security threat, and the latest numbers are beyond alarming. Furthermore, our economy, while chugging along, is getting hamstrung at every turn by the Biden Administration’s hideous decisions. Inflation is a serious issue. As is the learning loss a full generation of kids is experiencing due to the lockdowns. We have a pudding-head for a President who communes with beer barrels, can’t put a hat on correctly, and gets left standing awkwardly by himself while other Democrats take some selfie-time.

However, Nikki totally misses the big picture with her thoughts on the matter. You see, this asinine ‘verdict’ is a prime example of how our legal system has been weaponized against a political foe.

The jury verdict was broken down into $65 million meant to punish Trump, $11 million to help Carroll rebuild her reputation and another $7.3 million to compensate her for her pain and suffering.

Trump — who had already left court when the decision came down — vowed to appeal and blasted the verdict as “Absolutely ridiculous!” in a Truth Social post roughly 20 minutes later.

Nikki tells us that we should ignore this verdict and focus on the issues she deems important. Great! She should put up a website for that!

Ok, I’ll grant that the border and inflation are of a huge concern. But our court system being weaponized against parents, against J6 defendants, and against Donald Trump should be of EQUAL concern.

What’s interesting about all this is that one of the donors to Nikki’s campaign, who was heavily involved in getting E. Jean Carroll’s case into the courts, is now running away from her.

Liberal billionaire Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, paused donations to pro-Nikki Haley super PAC in her bid to become the Republican 2024 presidential nominee after her loss to former President Donald Trump in the New Hampshire primary, a source familiar with the matter has told multiple outlets.

Hoffman has said he’ll vote for President Joe Biden in November but backed Haley financially because his “first priority is to defeat Trump.” The Democratic donor gave $250,000 to Stand For America Fund Inc. last year, a pro-Haley super PAC, the New York Times reported.

Somehow I don’t see Hoffman coming back into the Haley fold with another donation anytime soon.

Do I wish Trump would stop with the ad hominen attacks? Yes I do. Do I believe his big mouth got him into trouble? Yes. Do I believe that E. Jean Carroll with her own history of weird off-putting statements had an ax to grind? Yes.

Does that mean this verdict and especially the dollar amount was “fair?” No, I think it was a case of both the jury, the jury instructions and all the courtroom antics by EVERYONE that led to such an asinine damage assessment.

Furthermore, as Nikki lectures about the issues we should be paying attention to, we should also be concerned about our weaponized justice system. Because if Biden is somehow dragged over the finish line once again, things can and likely will get worse for anyone who dares disagree with the Democrat party line.

You are missing the big picture. What ever Trump’s good qualities are they are outweighed by his bad qualities. Is this a combination of lawfare and someone looking for a big payday from a celebrity? Yes, but Trump’s mouth put him in this position. Trump is not a dictator, nor will he be one of elected. If he wants to accomplish anything he needs the cooperation from the members of Congress he keeps insulting. Republicans had a choice of an actual leader but prefer a circus act and confuses mean tweets for a fighter.

No, a civil jury found him guilty of sexual assault. (And according to the judge at the defamation trial it Mercedes common definition was rape.) And it wasn’t a “fling,” unless you’re one of those awful women who think women ask for being raped if they flirt. Trump was then twice found guilty of defaming her. The jury was made up of people not just from Manhattan but the outer New York counties, including Staten Island. Parts of those areas are conservative. The last jury was mostly white men, aka men like Trump. This was not an overly biased jury since both parties could participate in jury selection. So, no, it wasn’t “weaponized.”

Also “pudding head” should apply to Trump since he was in Nevada today bragging about how difficult a test he took for dementia was and how smart he is for passing it. (Hint: if you’re taking that test it means there might be a good reason to do so. And it’s not that hard… unless you have dementia.)

I see that you bots have your talking points ready to go. Very efficient.

      • Cameron, they’re simply idiots, too stupid to realize that if they win – they lose. They’re also too ignorant of history to know that the useful idiots always, always, form the BOTTOM layers of the mass graves.

You forgot the bit about the judge being the mentor of the prosecuting attorney.
Which is a very obvious conflict of interest. I know that’s how the democrats roll but some forms of fraud are too obvious to ignore. Thanks for giving Trump the vote of any human still capable of thought in the democratic party. Assuming there are any.

only fools think that if Trump is gone, the left will put their little lawfare toy back in the box

no, they will only require new coordinates

and the next time it will be you bushies prefered candidate

any body remember that New York legislature, changed the statue of limitations for one year, to allow this long past claim to be filed.

In high school government class in the 1965 period that used to be called an illegal ex post facto law

Never pays to tick off the judge.
