Nerd Prom, or the White House Correspondants dinner is ending with a viral bang! It seems it’s quite the super spreader Covid event!

On Saturday, the comedian Trevor Noah stood before a ballroom of 2,600 journalists, celebrities and political elites at the White House Correspondents Dinner, and asked: What are we doing here?

“Did none of you learn anything from the Gridiron Dinner? Nothing,” Mr. Noah said, referring to another elite Washington gathering in April, after which dozens of attendees tested positive for the coronavirus. “Do you read any of your own newspapers?”

By Wednesday, Mr. Noah’s chiding remarks at what he called “the nation’s most distinguished superspreader event” were beginning to appear prophetic as a growing number of attendees, including a string of journalists and Antony J. Blinken, the secretary of state, said they had tested positive for the virus.

Not to worry folks! Biden, even though he supposedly didn’t eat or drink and attended maskless, has tested negative. So all is good!

Except that several people he came in contact with are now down and out with Covid, including folks such as Jonathan Karl.

As noted above, there were 2600 people at this event, none of whom wore masks. The only ones required too do so? The help. One attendee, who WILLINGLY attended, even posted about how horrified she was that this was an incubator for Covid. You know, she could’ve left. She could’ve chosen NOT to attend. But she went anyway. Well, guess what? Nerd Prom was a super spreader event, much to her chagrin.

Here’s the deal. As most of us rational thinking folks knew, this would likely be a super spreader event as the political/media elite have learned nothing over these last few years. Do I think they need to quarantine forever? Absolutely not. But do NOT lecture us about masks, social distancing, vaccines, and then hold events such as these. 

Now we have the Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken testing positive. But don’t worry folks! No one who attended Nerd Prom,, who had a chat with Biden, shook his hand, or sat near him will be a problem for the health of the President. All is good! Besides, Grandpa Joe trotted out to call Americans MAGA extremists yesterday, so we are winning! 

Besides, Blinken has been tested, vaccinated, and even boosted so everyone is grateful!

Blinken, who has been vaccinated and received a booster shot, “will isolate at home and maintain a virtual work schedule.” His diagnosis comes in the wake of the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner Saturday, which he attended with his wife, White House Cabinet secretary Evan Ryan, but the statement did not indicate when he was exposed to the virus.

Two things.

1. I am doggone sick and tired of the RHEEE! I’m vaccinated, boosted, and thankful schtick. Is anyone else wondering why we have vaccines for measles, mumps, etc lasting YEARS and these Covid vaccines only lasting months? 

2. Nerd Prom itself was too damned risky for Fauci to attend, but he went to at least one if not more before/after parties?

If Fauci was so damned concerned, how come there is no social distancing?? Oh, but he and everyone else was attending …”SAFELY!”

Safely?? When you look at events like that and see the political elite attending while the help are wearing masks?? And then we are supposed to ignore the fact that multiple people who attended those events, maskless, are now positive for Covid? 

They SO do not see the irony and hypocrisy here! It was Nerd Prom, therefore we must attend because REASONS! Which also means that, the very next day, some of the folks went from Nerd Prom to the Met Gala. Including Kim Kardashian who finagled wearing Marilyn Monroe’s iconic ‘Happy Birthday Mr. President’ dress for a time. 

Therefore, it’s reasonable to believe that the Nerd Prom did end up as a super spreader event. Will the Met Gala be next? Remember, all the famous people were in attendance, including Hillary. 

We’ve all learned over the last couple of years how to take care of ourselves and those around us. Yet we are continually lectured by our political betters as to HOW we need to live and deal with Covid. Then they turn around and attend events such as the Gridiron Dinner, Nerd Prom, and the Met Gala. All while the help stays masked. 

You know what? You can take your sanctimonious bullshit and shove it up your Nerd Prom ass. We are the ones holding our small businesses together by the skin of our teeth. We are the ones dealing with the high cost of inflation impacting ranch and farm operations on a daily basis. We are the ones who’ve kept those ‘essential businesses’ open the entire time.  We are the ones who have been there for our kids while too many teachers have left the building. 

You don’t get to go to Nerd Prom and the Met Gala and then turn around and lecture us about masks, vaccines, and staying safe.
