Member Of Immigrant Community Killed By ICE In Maine

It’s the same story (narrative) every time. Never any question or doubt by the Democrat Media Industrial Complex. A “member of the immigrant community” was killed by an ICE agent in Maine as he drove “in the direction of” the agents. We are sorry for any loss of life, but there are some hard and fast rules in life.

This was the second ICE fatal shooting in a week. The first was in Texas. The New York Times starts us off:

A federal immigration agent shot and killed an individual in a vehicle on Monday morning in the coastal city of Biddeford, Maine, according to the state attorney general’s office. By late afternoon, federal authorities had not provided any information about the fatal encounter.

The state’s governor, the city’s mayor and other officials said they were seeking details, and demanded a full investigation of the killing. It was the second fatal shooting in a week involving an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent firing into a vehicle.

A spokesman for Senator Angus King of Maine, an independent, said the senator had spoken with Markwayne Mullin, the homeland security secretary, who initially told Mr. King that the person who was shot had been ordered to leave the country and had been the target of an arrest warrant.

But according to the spokesman, Mr. Mullin called the senator later on Monday to correct that information, telling him that the driver had not, in fact, been the target of a warrant.

If ICE gave out information to the press that was later determined to be wrong (as it was), DHS and ICE would be in hot water for that, too. Damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

According to ABC News, they really didn’t know anything at all when the story was filed:

We are sure that Maine is lovely, but it doesn’t seem like the kind of place we would want to go. This situation is “dynamic and still unfolding”. That’s why no one is saying anything. These shootings are happening “one after another”. That sounds like they happen every day all over the country.

More from the NY Times:

People who live near the intersection where the shooting took place on Monday said that it happened at about 7:15 a.m. In interviews, several reported hearing gunfire, then seeing a body on the ground next to a car.

Mia Covino, 26, who lives nearby, said that she heard four or five gunshots and dropped to the floor inside her home. She then peeked from her window, she said, and saw two law enforcement agents in plain clothes and green vests in the street, as well as a white car slowly spinning in circles in the intersection.

One of the agents was holding onto one of the car’s door handles, Ms. Covino said, “yelling, ‘He tried to run me over.’” The other agent was telling his colleague “to stop, to relax, to calm down,” she added.

Another vehicle, which appeared to belong to the federal agents, bumped into the circling car and stopped it, Ms. Covino said, adding that agents then pulled a man from the driver’s seat and onto the ground. He was covered in blood, she said.

DHS has released an initial statement AND an eyewitness gives an account.

It doesn’t sound like the dead man drove “in the direction of”. It sounds like he aimed at the member of ICE. There’s that whole intent concept.

From the Portland Press Herald:

A federal immigration agent shot a man in Biddeford just after 7 a.m. Monday morning after he allegedly drove “in the direction of the officer” as he tried to flee, according to the Office of the Maine Attorney General.

Despite being in the very early times of this investigation with confusing information, the Post Millennial wrote about a protest at Senator Susan Collins office and a reporter getting struck with a skateboard:

Anti-ICE agitators in Maine descended on Senator Susan Collins’ office in the state after a Colombian migrant was shot by an ICE agent on Monday. Protests erupted after the shooting before details were fully released on the situation, and even got violent, where an agitator struck a press member with a skateboard.

In reaction to the incident, Collins posted to X, “The shooting in Biddeford requires a full and impartial investigation of what happened. It is my understanding that the Biddeford police have secured the site and that the FBI is investigating.”

Despite her call for an impartial investigation, left-wing agitators still swarmed her office in Maine, with them chanting “throw her out” while banging on the windows.

Footage from the Maine Wire also showed an anti-ICE agitator strike a press member with a skateboard.

The reporter asked a man why he was here, and in reaction, the agitator said he was there to protest while he swung the skateboard, hitting the reporter and the camera out of the press member’s hands.

What charmers those Mainers are.

Hard and fast rules in life include obeying a country’s immigration laws, stopping when law enforcement orders you to stop and not hitting reporters with a skateboard.
