Media Starting To Push Back On Biden

Is the media really starting to wake up to the fact that the President of the United States is nothing more than a ficus plant? Not really, but there are some interesting cracks in the dam appearing.

First, I’m getting the sense that the media are getting very tired of being shoved into a room where Biden is, present when he does or says A Thing, and then being shoved right back out again. Today, Biden signed the pork-lovers stuffed burrito of a “COVID relief” bill that isn’t really about COVID relief at all, but about a Democrat wishlist payoff. But because Biden will sign anything that the staff puts in front of him, he read the script and signed the bill. And the press was granted a glimpse of the Precious, before being told to leave.

Notice Kamala Harris escorting Joe Biden out. “Well done, Joe, let’s go get you TWO SCOOPS of ice cream now! Would you like that? No, you can’t play with the dogs today. Maybe next week.” There is an uncomfortable vibe of “get Grandpa out of here before he says something he shouldn’t” in that clip.

What’s worse, the media is beginning to pay attention. After letting Biden hide in his basement for the duration of the campaign with the pandemic as the excuse – and I will say it again, if there was no COVID-19, there would be no President Biden – ABC News is pointing out, without actually saying it, what is becoming increasingly obvious. Biden is being hidden by the administration.

Halfway into his first 100 days, President Joe Biden has yet to hold a formal, solo news conference, raising questions about accountability with the White House under increasing pressure to explain why.”

Even as the nation deals with multiple crises — a deadly pandemic and the devastating economic fallout — Biden has gone longer without facing extended questions from reporters than any of his 15 predecessors over the past 100 years.”

The tough exchanges in such a setting can reveal much more to Americans about a president’s thinking and test his explanations, as opposed to what so far have been Biden’s brief answers — often one-liner quips — in the tightly-controlled and often-scripted events the White House has arranged to date.”

The contrast with former President Donald Trump has been especially striking, especially given Biden’s repeated promises to Americans that he’d always be “straight” and “transparent.”

Never fear, here comes the fact-checker to the rescue!

Yes, Glenn Kessler of the Washington Post really did a “but Trump” as he defended Biden being concealed from the media. Never underestimate the ability of a bootlicking press to scream “ORANGE MAN BAD!” Naughty, naughty ABC News – you weren’t supposed to ask real questions!

What the Biden administration really wants, of course, is for all the answers to come from Press Secretary Jen Psaki, after they have been “circled back” and focus-group tested and run through the woke language translator. However, Psaki is coming off as snotty and uninformed, and the reporters in the briefing room don’t seem to actually like her all that much. Now, they wanted to like her, because she wasn’t Kayleigh McEnany or Sarah Huckabee Sanders, but the shine is starting to wear off. Peter Doocy, who has more guts than the rest of the reporters combined in that room, is not shy on calling Psaki out when she is at her most unlikeable.

Doocy asked about the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations regarding reopening schools and managing migrant detention facilities during Wednesday’s briefing, noting that while the detention facilities were being opened to full capacity, many schools still were not.”

“The CDC guidelines as to be clear, as I think this is very important to be very clear and specific on. They gave eight mitigation steps that schools can take to safely reopen,” Psaki replied, noting that a number of schools had already taken those steps and reopened. She also said that some schools were waiting for funding, which she said would be on the way after President Joe Biden signed the COVID-19 relief legislation later in the week.”

Doocy pressed again, asking whether the cooperation of the border patrol unions had been easier to come by than that of teachers unions.”

“I think that’s a little bit of mixing different circumstances,” Psaki replied, prompting Doocy to point out that both involved children in tight quarters during a pandemic.”

Psaki appeared to laugh at that, and Doocy replied, “It’s not funny.”

Jen Psaki is the perfect press secretary for a Biden administration that is basically running the Executive Branch by committee, while Biden himself gets to sit in the Oval Office, happy with his lifelong achievement.

Tonight Joe Biden will give a primetime speech reflecting on the first anniversary of the “15 Days To Slow The Spread,” which will probably be all about how awesome his administration is, even though he’s only been in office 51 days. This will be a completely scripted speech off a teleprompter. And I’m going to make a prediction now – this is as close as we get this year to a State of the Union address from Biden. The administration is too nervous to put Grandpa in front of a live studio audience, even if there are teleprompters everywhere. It’s just too much risk for too little reward.

Pay no attention to the entire White House staff hiding behind the curtain, media. Just look at the pretty ficus tree. At least Joe Biden doesn’t tweet mean things, right? Or, at least, his staff doesn’t. I’m pretty sure that he’s forgotten what Twitter is.
