I have to say that I feel a little like all of you readers owe me. I sacrificed my mental security on your behalf as I am certain few of you watched the Jan 6 “Court of Public Opinion” AKA Trump’s third impeachment last night. My crystal ball is indicating that, besides myself, there will be a total of 37 viewers that account for the farcical theater I suffered through. I can’t wait to see the numbers on Friday. All I know is that I walked in from work, put a bottle of Pepto on the nightstand and settled in to view the madness. This third impeachment show was offered up on all the mainstream media outlets. Pravda at its finest. It was much like the scene in Alice in Wonderland: Sentence First, Trial Afterwards!
The hardest part of writing this post will be to keep all my thoughts organized. My brain is overwhelmed at the outrage and double standard of this whole theatrical performance. And performance it was. It was nothing short of a Hollywood production, glossy and smooth. All it lacked was the over-the-top music of a bad documentary. I’m sure I’ve missed the many put together since that fateful day. But the goal was set forth, with much bloviation, by House Member, Bennie Thompson, (D-MS).
It is galling to me that Bennie Thompson is leading this redundant impeachment hearing. I know it’s not technically an “impeachment”, but really, what’s the difference? It was Bennie Thompson, back in 2005, that introduced a motion NOT to certify the election of George W. Bush, and to declare John Kerry the true President of the United States. Yeah – that guy! From a Mass Live article on July 6, 2021:
“Still, Thompson has taken sharply partisan stances. He joined with about 30 Democrats in a 2005 vote to invalidate President George W. Bush’s victory — not unlike the dozens of Republicans who voted to invalidate Biden’s in January. In that challenge, the dissenting Democrats claimed irregularities if not fraud in Ohio’s vote.”
Poor Liz. I think she knows she is toast in Wyoming. The GOP there have already disowned her back home and she is just left as a small shell of a woman, hoping you won’t notice she is a shill for the Democrat party. I couldn’t help but notice that she hardly looked up as she spoke into the microphone. Her somber tone and droning voice were second to her head held low, as if she knows she is selling out her soul for this $H!# show:
DISGUSTING LIZ CHANEY THINKS IN HER DELUSIONAL LITTLE BRAIN THAT THE JANUARY SIXTH HOAX HEARINGS WILL HELP HER WIN THE PRIMARY. THAT EVIL WITCH IS GOING TO HAVE A RUDE AWAKENING
— Miguel Diaz (@MiguelD05144897) June 8, 2022
I cannot make this stuff up. This is the world in which we live today. My head hurts. But it was Chuck Todd, of Meet the Press who said the quiet part aloud during a commentary piece:
Chuck Todd really, really just said: “In some ways this is the third impeachment hearing.”
— Judy Berman (@judyberman) June 10, 2022
Yes Todd. You’re right. This IS the third impeachment. You do realize that the first two didn’t work out for you either, right?? Does anyone actually think that doing the same thing over and over again will achieve a different result? It’s called INSANITY! But what else do they have at this moment? We are five months away from the November slaughter and they are desperate to redirect attention from Joe Biden’s many messes.
Cause, you see, this witch hunt is all about ensuring that Trump cannot run in 2024. That was the point of Impeachment 2.0 as well, but hey, that didn’t work either. But as Intelligencer reminded us back in January of 2021, Section Three of the 14th Amendment reads:
“No Person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”
Chuck Todd was quick to assure us that The Jan 6 Committee “brought the receipts” – like they tried to bring receipts in Impeachment 1.0 and 2.0, right?
But Frank Luntz can be counted on to bring his own receipts and they show that his viewers were bored from the start:
It took 9 minutes for the hearing to show something other than a politician delivering a teleprompter speech.
— Frank Luntz (@FrankLuntz) June 10, 2022
That’s too long.
I have 10 students watching with me… And they aren’t watching anymore. They’re more interested in talking to each other than watching the screen.
If you are curious to know who Pelosi trotted out for this spectacle, TownHall has a great synopsis:
Witness #1: U.S. Capitol Police Officer
Witness #2: Documentarian
Yep, that’s really it. At least for DAY 1 of this vomit-fest. I mean, they did introduce a bunch of “first seen here” videos. In fact, I really appreciated the trigger warning from Lester Dolt from NBC. Yes, he really did warn me that they would be playing videos from the “insurrection” lest I need to get my therapy dog for comfort.
I have mixed feelings about this woman. I honestly believe she thinks she is serving her nation by sitting on this panel.
Poor girl. I’m sure she is still suffering the trauma of that day. And I will fully concede that all members of the mob who wrought violence and destruction on January 6th (or ANY protest) should pay the consequences of their actions. It is always illegal to harm others, no matter the cause. But as I watched these new, scintillating videos I was reminded of the Seattle and Portland protestors and their attempts to BLIND police officers with laser pointers. The January 6 crowd were rowdy, they did indeed spur fist fights and chaos. But sorry, I am also reminded that the only person killed that day was Ashli Babbit. Say her name.
I have to say, the first thing I notice about this other “witness” is that no-one ever calls him by name. Just Documentarian. Is that because he is irrelevant? That’s what I take away:
Documentarian who followed Proud Boys leader to testify at Jan. 6 hearing https://t.co/vvVOhyKgz6
— Morning Joe (@Morning_Joe) June 7, 2022
So there’s this guy, aka “Documentarian” that was following around a bunch of the Proud Boys. His keen advantage is that he was in on the ground floor of this “multi-step conspiracy plan” whereupon Donald Trump “spurred a mob” to “an attempted coup” Yes, those are all quotes from ass-hat Bennie Thompson. But it is Nick Quested, who is charged with connecting the dots from a bunch of idiots to Donald Trump. From my vantage point, he failed. Unsurprisingly. I mean, within seconds of his “testimony” he admits that the unification of The Proud Boys and The Oath keepers at Peace Circle is not organized.
In his “testimony” Nick Quested busts his own theory. Within moments of being at the microphone he admits that he cannot hear what is being said between two, unaffiliated groups of the Proud Boys, but argues that there must be some final organization of events to overthrow democracy.
Then, as if that isn’t leading enough, he tells us just how serious this insurrection plan must be as he admits that first they do a photo shoot in front of the Capital and then, and then… wait for it, they GO TO LUNCH!
OMG! Those damn insurrectionists needed to make sure they ate their Wheaties before pulling out their high-powered cell phones to take down Nancy Pelosi!
Jesus, I know it is a right-wing talking point to call attention to the fact that there wasn’t a single firearm brought to the Capital. But hell, if cell phones were weapons, then we couldn’t get them on a plane, right? I mean, I can’t get a 4 oz bottle of moisturizer passed the armed guards at the security checkpoints, so surely those weapons of mass destruction, otherwise known as mobile phones, must be secured, right??
But here’s the thing. Even if the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers really were intent on overthrowing the government as they took selfies of each other breaking down the door, where is the evidence that any of that was coordinated with Donald J. Trump? Where are the text messages and encrypted emails of this hellacious plan?
I mean we have more coordinated documentation of Hunter Biden and Joe Biden from the Laptop From Hell ™ than we do of any spurious plan from The Donald to upend the certification of electoral votes. But this is what we must focus on. The hole democrats are digging for themselves just gets deeper and deeper. As our own Darleen Click is kind enough to point out for us:
Also, last I checked, being delusional isn’t illegal. The main contention from all these bobbleheads seems to be that Donald Trump caused the outcome of events with his heated rhetoric and lies surrounding the election. If delusion were illegal, then Joe Biden and his administration has some serious ‘splainin to do. Not only that, but I am infuriated by the deafening silence from the legacy media about the honest to God attempt to kill Brett Kavanaugh Wednesday. The New York Time has 32 THIRTY-TWO articles on its main web page before it deigns to mention that reality. And if Donald Trump incited such action from The Proud Boys, does Chuck Schumer get called before this court for his inciting rhetoric?
Seems relevant this morning…

Here’s what I know dear readers. You saved yourself from a painful and cringeworthy two-hour theatrical production literally put together by Hollywood. I am sure I missed some key elements that should have been pointed out. There was just so much for me to take in. But I hope I covered the highlights. Impeachment 3.0 will make no dent in voters’ choices come November. Those who believe Donald Trump is being raked over the coals for political points will continue to do so. Those that believe he is Satan incarnate will remain convinced.
Anyone without an opinion at this point will not be watching this production. They are too busy deciding on how much money to set aside to fill up their gas tanks in the morning. I will tell you however that I once spent three weeks in a hospital enduring multiple surgeries just to get my gall bladder removed. This was worse than that. I cannot get this time back. I hope you thank me with your insightful commentary.

I sacrificed my mental security..
You didn’t read the warning? Watch at your own expense?
I have no insightful commentary to offer, just a sincere thank you, Cameron, for yours! No way can I watch almost anything anymore as I am in frustrated hell….. from all of this…… for decades. I can read about it, but watch any of it? No way! If I could I would give you two of my hours so you could do something interesting! I appreciate the sacrifice you made, girl!
[…] Cameron watched the opening installment of Impeachment 3.0 and wrote up a synopsis for you. Read it here. I am one of those tin-foil hat types who believe that the FBI had a strong hand in whipping up the […]
This morning I watched a video of The Oath Keepers & Proud Boys as the January 6th event took place. It was forceful, but not threatening. In previous times this alleged insurrection would have been a call to honor.
If the police truly felt this was a threat they could have used flash bangs, tear gas or pepper spray. Thanks for filling in the gray areas for me. Like others, I can read your analysis, but can no longer watch any news.
Again thank you Cameron for telling it like it is!
First of all there were 7 people who died as a result of the capital attack. They include Ashli, Officer Brian Sicknick, and Rosanne Boyland. Officer Sicknick died the day after from a stroke but he was attacked during the riot so it may have been stress that brought it on. Boyland was crushed in a stampede of rioters. The others are listed here: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/01/05/us/politics/jan-6-capitol-deaths.html But I guess they weren’t martyrs for the cause so they don’t count to you.
Second, there were weapons there. Literal weapons. Three individuals were charged with firearm possession. Also, things that aren’t commonly thought of as weapons were used, like flagpoles, fire extinguishers and baseball bats. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2021/07/28/politics/armed-insurrection-january-6-guns-fact-check/index.html There is video of a lot of this. And why were there people in tactical gear with zip ties and body armor? There are literal pictures of that. They were armed with what they could get and ready for a fight.
Third re: the Proud Boys. You do realize that a leader and members have been charged with seditious conspiracy, right? That’s not a charge that’s brought up often because it’s difficult to prove. The leader of the Oath Keepers and several members have also been charged with this. There is literal video of members of the Proud Boys forming a military style formation known as “Ranger Style” where they hold the collar of the men in front to stay together. It’s a method that was used in Iraq and Afghanistan. Their entrance was coordinated and planned. And the committee has said they will lay this out. Did you honestly think they’d present everything all at once? These hearings are being set up similarly to the Watergate hearings and that’s purposeful. The evidence they have will be presented. It’s been reported that they have links between the Proud Boys and Trump’s inner circle. That sounds pretty damning to anyone with half a brain. What it is remains to be seen of course. But it’s clear that this was a coordinated and planned attack.
Just because you think an attack on the capital was a joke, that doesn’t mean everyone does. And it was an attack and an attempted coup, that much is very clear.
In my experience, anyone who uses the words literal / literally repeatedly when talking about most any subject is usually full of crap, and trying to get you to believe their BS.
Sating people “died as a result of the capitol attack” is a pretty long stretch. Only one, Ashli Babbit was murdered by a racist who ignored every rule of firearm use. While heart attacks can very well be caused by stress, the same is not true of strokes, and the one suffered by officer Sicknick is no different. Two supporters of President Trump did in fact die of heart attacks that day. Boyland did not actually die as you describe, but rather from an amphetamine overdose,
The facts on all this are out there, if you care to look. As for weapons, yes, some thugs did use weapons that day, and those that did should be prosecuted. As for the guns, did anyone other than the capitol police officer use them? If not, it seems that’s kind of a red herring. In fact one of the people charged with having a gun was an off-duty DEA agent,(from your own link) who one could assume is always armed, but because he is guilty of “wrongthink”, that’s now a problem.
As to this being an “armed insurrection”, that’s another huge stretch. If this was truly organized as an attempted coup as you claim, it was by far the most inept one ever staged. If it had been what you and other lefties claim, there would have been far more firearms, and they would have been used. As for the tactical vests that some wore, based on the violence shown by antifa / blm over the past couple years, it would seem reasonable for people to protect themselves against such, and body armor is designed to do just that. As for the zip ties, there could be many explanations for having them (securing those who attack you, etc), but again, since none were used, though they clearly could have been in this situation, that seems like another non-sequitor.
On a not unrelated note, are you as upset by the clearly illegal protests outside the homes / offices of Supreme Court Justices? How about the guy who travelled from Commifornia with the intent to assassinate Justice Kavanaugh?? How about Chuck Schumer? He very clearly incited such action with his comment “I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price,” Schumer inveighed. “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” Are you upset about that?
At least your posting name is as much of a farce as your commentary.

Don’t forget the rioters who tried to stop Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Apparently, that wasn’t an “attack on our sacred democracy.”
