The Democrats have an anti-Semitism problem. And it is personified in the likes of the new Congresswoman from Minnesota, Ilhan Omar.
Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has his concerns about the escalating anti-Semitic rhetoric that is coming out of the Democratic party. Specifically, what is coming out of the mouths and fingers of Ilhan Omar and fellow Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
The Republican leader in the U.S. House of Representatives said he would take action against two Democrats who have sharply criticized Israel if the Democratic majority did not do so.
“If they do not take action I think you’ll see action from myself,” Kevin McCarthy of California, the minority leader, said according to Capitol Hill reporters writing for a number of newspapers. “This cannot sustain itself. It’s unacceptable in this country.”
McCarthy noted that he had recently taken action to isolate Republican Representative Steve King of Iowa, who has long associated with white supremacists. The precipitating event for McCarthy was when King wondered in an interview why terms like “white supremacy” were stigmatized.
Statements by freshmen Democrats Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota were equal to King’s and “more so”, McCarthy said. He did not say what action he might initiate against them.
Congressman King is now essentially jobless and voiceless within the House, while Ilhan Omar was inexplicably put on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, even after her anti-Semitic history was highlighted.
So how did Ilhan Omar respond to Kevin McCarthy? By suggesting that the Jews were paying McCarthy, of course.

Huh. We’ve seen this level of anti-Semitism from the Women’s March leaders, except THIS hatemonger sits in the House of Representatives. No wonder Ilhan Omar and Linda Sarsour are such besties.
When called out on this tweet, Omar simply made things worse.

Ummmmmmmmmmm………. no.
Fun fact: AIPAC is a 501(c)(4), not a political action committee. They engage in advocacy but do not fund campaigns. Love them or hate them, they don’t “pay” politicians even in the sense that this Congresswoman means. https://t.co/IQeAs3KeZb

This was so bad, even CHELSEA CLINTON stepped in.
Co-signed as an American. We should expect all elected officials, regardless of party, and all public figures to not traffic in anti-Semitism.

How did Omar respond to the First Daughter of the Democrat Party? By sucking up, making herself the victim, and begging for Chelsea’s help in getting rid of those evil Republican bigots!

This woman is just evil. Every single thing she says and does circles back to the fact that she is an anti-Semite. Blaming the Jews and their money is just as natural to her as breathing. She’s not going to apologize. She isn’t going to change. Those who were paying attention knew EXACTLY what she was BEFORE she was elected. However, her congressional district elected her by a huge margin because it contains a large Somali population. So, what are the Democrat leaders going to do about Ilhan Omar?
Sadly, the Democrats have already decided that this is okay with them. Robert P. George of Princeton predicted this:
You will be able to watch something as if in slow motion over the course of the next few years: the collapse of support for Israel by Democratic Party politicians who harbor ambition for national office. It will follow the pattern we saw of collapse of support for the pro-life cause by leading Democrats in the period of 1973-80 (and particularly 1973-76)…
Similarly, today’s leading Democrats will move from support for Israel, to merely nominal support for Israel, to neutrality, to quiet, somewhat ambiguous opposition, to something effectively indistinguishable from “Zionism is racism.” The left calls the tune, and just as the left settled in on abortion in the early 1970s and marriage redefinition in the 90s, it has now settled in on opposition to Israel–not merely the policies of its government, but its very existence as a Jewish state and homeland of the Jewish people.
If the media were honest players, then every single Democrat would be called to account for Ilhan Omar’s remarks the way that Republicans were called to answer for Steve King’s comments. That is not the case. Very few will be honest enough to admit that the Democrats have a huge problem with anti-Semitism on their hands – and it’s coming from inside the House.
UPDATE 1 PM ET:
Well, well, well. Ilhan Omar has a new fan.
So, let us get this straight. It is "Anti-Semitism" to point out that the most powerful political moneybags in American politics are Zionists who put another nation's interest (israel's) over that of America ?????? https://t.co/2e1QbIxOGp

That’s so special. Between this and Rashida Tlaib writing for Louis Farrakhan in 2006, the Democrats are off to a GREAT start this week.
UPDATE 2 PM ET:
Ilhan Omar has become Nancy Pelosi’s headache, and she wants it to go away.
In our conversation today, Congresswoman Omar and I agreed that we must use this moment to move forward as we reject anti-Semitism in all forms. https://t.co/UpZA3DNgQs pic.twitter.com/1Z6rH65e3M
— Nancy Pelosi (@SpeakerPelosi) February 11, 2019
Does this mean that Speaker Pelosi will be joining Minority Leader McCarthy in taking action against Omar and Tlaib? Don’t hold your breath.
