An Atlanta gym owner is searing the internet with his policy of “no cops” in his gym. The EAV Barbell Club gym is owned by Jim Chambers, as reported by Atlanta station 11 Alive. The gym location is also available, through the owner, as a meeting space for local activists. Local Atlanta media outlets were sent a picture of a sign on the door of the gym stating the “no cops” policy.

11 Alive sent a reporter to interview the gym owner, Mr. Chambers:

1Alive’s Faith Abubey talked to the gym’s owner, who is not making any apologies for putting up the sign.

“It was really just that the vulgarity in that sign, and that seems to bring it out for people,” said Jim Chambers, owner of the EAV Barbell Club on Flat Shoals Avenue in the city’s East Atlanta Village neighborhood.

“I didn’t want the other folks there to take the heat that I’m willing to take,” Chambers said.
Despite the backlash, Chambers says he still stands by the message it conveyed.

“We’ve had an explicitly stated ‘No Cop’ policy since we opened, and we also don’t open membership to active members of the military,” he said.

What a brave, brave man, Mr. Chambers is. (Please read the preceding sentence with dripping sarcasm.) The man eats breaths, sleeps and owns a gym under the assurances of The Constitution which are protected by cops and the military.

For Chambers, a lifelong political activist, the sign and policy is a political statement outside a multi-use space which serves as a gym, community gathering spot and meeting place for activists in the metro area.

He says groups who work out there are generally minorities who are uncomfortable with the presence of law enforcement agents.

Oh my gravy, someone alert the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Justice Department. There are no minority cops in East Atlanta. Except that’s not true, Mr. Chambers, gym owner. East Atlanta in Dekalb County has a 50% African American police department, according to the Atlanta Journal and Constitution. Oopies.

Perhaps it’s time to hear from Mr. Chambers, gym owner and Social Justice Warrior, himself.

There is just so much deliciousness in that video, isn’t there? Hetero slamming? Check. Occupying Army? Check? Doesn’t this guy seem like a character from a Coen brothers movie? Say “The Big Lebowski” or “Fargo”.

Now, you and I know that Law Enforcement Officers (cops) and military personnel (occupying army) would take a bullet to protect this gym owner, his clients, fellow Social Justice Warriors and property. Not that he can on board that concept. From 11 Alive:

The question now is what happens if Chambers or anyone inside the gym needs the police.

Chambers says they never have, and won’t ever need the help of officers. He says he plans to put the ‘No Cop’ sign back up without the foul language.

Oh, Mr. Chambers “won’t ever need” may be words you will have to eat some day. I would like to be there with the fork and salt.

Have you noticed that I keep acknowledging Mr. Chambers as the “gym owner”. Well our friendly, white (aren’t most of them) Social Justice Warrior also signals his virtue by hating capitalism. From WRDW.comr reporting:

“American police is just an entity that, they serve capitalism and they serve white supremacy and that’s the way we see that. We felt that it was important to create zones, like businesses, official, operating establishing business, homes, recreation centers where cops are explicitly not welcome,” said Chambers.

Mr. Chambers, you sir, are a hypocrite. You are quite white and you own a gym. You are a capitalist in the white supremacy….your words, not mine. Hopefully, this guy will go away. He was an amusing morsel for today, but a steady diet of him and his type is BORING.

I do agree with him on one thing. Crossfit is a cult.
