In a rare move, the House Intelligence Committee will be having a public, televised hearing today, where FBI Director James Comey will be giving testimony about any involvement by the Russian government in the 2016 presidential election, any possible surveillance by the Obama administration on Trump Tower, and pretty much anything else that pops into the committee members’ heads during the hearing.
But those expecting to hear a lot of gory details about the links between the Trump circle and the Russian government may be sorely disappointed.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) on Sunday said he’s seen no evidence of collusion between President Trump’s campaign and Russia.
Nunes was asked during an interview on “Fox News Sunday” if he has seen any evidence of any collusion between “Trump world” and Russia to swing the 2016 presidential election.
“I’ll give you a very simple answer: ‘No,’ ” Nunes said.
“Up to speed on everything I have up to this morning. No evidence of collusion.”
Nunes was also asked whether he thinks there are elements inside the intelligence community or FBI leaking information to undercut the Trump presidency.“It’s pretty clear that that’s happening,” he said.

Of course, the Democrats on the committee are singing a different tune.

But even liberal columnists like Glenn Greenwald are telling the Democrat base to not get their hopes up.
Perhaps most revealing of all are the Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee — charged with investigating these matters — who recently told BuzzFeed how petrified they are of what the Democratic base will do if they do not find evidence of collusion, as they now suspect will likely be the case. “There’s a tangible frustration over what one official called ‘wildly inflated’ expectations surrounding the panel’s fledgling investigation,” BuzzFeed’s Ali Watkins wrote.
Moreover, “several committee sources grudgingly say, it feels as though the investigation will be seen as a sham if the Senate doesn’t find a silver bullet connecting Trump and Russian intelligence operatives.” One member told Watkins: “I don’t think the conclusions are going to meet people’s expectations.”
The committee hearing is scheduled to start at 10 am EDT, and can be seen on C-SPAN’s live feed here. Most of the major networks have announced that they will be carrying the hearing online. Victory Girls will be monitoring Comey’s testimony, and will update with any interesting information that comes out of the hearing.
UPDATE 10 am EDT: Live feed can be seen via YouTube here…
Comey is a BIGLY problem. He needs to be given an order to resign. His integrity goes no deeper than the dead skin layer.
