Dr. Anthony Fauci is shocked, SHOCKED, that anyone could be angry at him or want him prosecuted for his role in the COVID-19 response. Least of all the richest man in the world, Elon Musk. Woe is poor Anthony Fauci, who just doesn’t understand why he is so loathed.
As he complained to Jim Acosta of CNN (who, by some miracle, is still employed there), these calls for accountability and prosecution are just SO hurtful and crazy. Acosta asked Fauci about this old tweet from Elon Musk:
My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 11, 2022
We still have not seen the “Fauci Files” that Elon Musk said would be coming out in January, but, to be fair, there is a whole lot of Fauci stuff that has come out of Twitter. And, we now know that Dr. Anthony Fauci deliberately suppressed the lab leak theory because he didn’t want the “gain of function” research at the Wuhan lab to be traced back to the NIH funding that EcoHealth Alliance had gotten and given to the Chinese. We also know that Fauci and colleagues like Dr. Francis Collins deliberately left other scientists like Dr. Robert Redfield of the CDC out of the information loop, and smeared others like Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, all to keep their preferred narrative going. Still, Anthony Fauci doth protest too much. He just doesn’t know WHY people could be THIS mad at him.
Fauci responded to a December tweet from Elon Musk during a Saturday appearance on CNN, telling host Jim Acosta that calls for his prosecution were “insanity.”
Acosta displayed the tweet, which read, “My pronouns are Prosecute/Fauci,” and asked what Fauci’s response was.”
“There’s no response to that craziness, Jim. Prosecute me for what? What are they talking about? I wish I could figure out what the heck they’re talking about. I think they’re just going off the deep end,” Fauci said.”
Fauci went on to say the widespread criticism of him was resulting in death threats against him and his family.”
“I mean, [my family doesn’t] like to have me getting death threats all the time. Every time someone gets up and spouts some nonsense that’s misinformation, disinformation and outright lies, somebody somewhere decides they want to do harm to me and or my family,” Fauci stated.”
“That’s the part of it that is really unfortunate,” he continued. “The rest of it is just insanity, the things they’re saying. But it does have a negative effect when people take it seriously and take it out on you and your family.”
Obviously, death threats are not appropriate. But for Anthony Fauci to not understand just how furious the American public has become with him smacks of intentional obliviousness.
He lied about masks – first saying the public didn’t need them (the “noble lie” to make sure that medical providers had them), then saying the public needed to wear them, maybe even wear two of them.
He lied about schools – and the final straw was when he said it wasn’t safe for kids to return to school UNLESS Biden’s big “relief” package passed.
He lied about the vaccine’s effectiveness – and it cost people their jobs, and sometimes their lives.
When he is confronted about his part in spreading fear and panic, he lies and says that HE IS THE SCIENCE, how DARE you criticize him.
And now that he has been shown to have lied about the lab leak, and deliberately suppressing information on that while commissioning a study to say the exact opposite, he’s just so misunderstood and why would anyone want to prosecute him?
Yeah, you arrogant jackass, I’m sure you have NO CLUE why people are angry with you. As we all know, “with great power comes great responsibility.” Well, Fauci failed the responsibility part of having power, so now we need to change things up. Maybe for Anthony Fauci, it should be “with great power comes great accountability.” God and Congress willing, we MIGHT see some accountability that comes with legal repercussions. If not, then the only recourse left is the court of public opinion. Fauci may have retired from the NIH, but he has not retired from public life – or he wouldn’t be showing up on CNN to whine. So it is time for the public to just shun him. His book disappeared almost two years ago, never to be seen again. Right after Congress gets done grilling him under oath, we should never see or hear from Dr. Anthony Fauci again. Ever. History will not look kindly on him.

“ not understand just how furious the American public has become” could apply to just about everyone in DC, could it not? This man, and many other people, have a lot to answer for, not only to the American public, but to a much higher Authority!
I like my typing error new name! Mulch highe Lewis it is! Can’t wait to write it one one of my checks!
Thanks for a great article, Deanna!
Fauci is a narcissist who has a God complex. This goes all the way back to the eighties and his manipulation of the AIDS crisis. He pulled the same BS then. He pushed a drug, AZT which killed people (like remdesivir) suppressed simple treatments like Bactrim for pneumonia (sound familiar?) and spread fear about AIDS liberally around the country. He knows perfectly well what he has done (check his bank balance) but like all narcissists has no understanding of other peoples’ feelings. He may never get the anger and loathing that so many feel. He would be lucky to go down the rabbit hole. As long as I see the effects of Covid on our society his name (like Hitler) will be a constant.
He also failed to do the one thing that probably would have nipped it right in the bud: quarantine people who actually had AIDS to prevent them from passing it on. Because that might stigmatize homosexuals.
But he was willing to “quarantine” all the innocents during Wuhan Flu.
We would have had to have a facility big enough to house them. I can get the argument about civil rights but Fauci did try claiming that AIDS was an Extinction Level event that was passed through casual contact. Should have held him to that.
May Fauci rot in hell. Besides all you listed as his fault, let’s not forget the loved ones that died alone, funerals that weren’t allowed to happen, family holidays that were lost, old people with no visitors for at least a year. These are the real crimes that he personally are responsible for. And now that so many are vaxxed, he’s personally responsible for the excess deaths of those vaxxed. I’m seeing so many death announcements for middle aged people, leaving behind children, that I’ve ever seen before. Far more than the covid deaths at the beginning. I truly believe that the vaccines destroyed people’s immune systems and turbo cancer is a real thing. This is his legacy and he deserves all the hate and scorn that’s heaped on him.
I’ll be blunt: He’s lying about the death threats or had a friend write them.
They will be the faux death threats. Like “I wish you were dead”. That implies no actual threat, but its always reported as a death threat.
Cameron,
I don’t think so. There are a LOT of people mad as Hell about the way the WuFlu was handled. I can easily see someone who lost their job, or a relative, because of the vax lies wanting a piece of this bastard. Personally, I think he’s a mass murderer who, in a just country, would already be doing a life sentence in the Colorado Supermax.
Fauci is the darling of the Democrats. If there was any death threat against him that person would have already been arrested. I stand by what I said: He’s lying.
And he doesn’t deserve anything other than a bullet to the back of the head and the body dumped off in a landfill as a warning to others.
Obviously, death threats are not appropriate.
I will not state for the record that I disagree.
why would anyone want to prosecute him?
You forgot about his lies with AIDS and how his pro-homosexual tilt helped to kill a LOT of people.
we should never see or hear from Dr. Anthony Fauci again.
There’s a couple of ways to ensure that….
So we’re left to conclude that Anthony “The Gargoyle” Fauci is really that obtuse, or he is desperately trying to convince people that His Sciencieness was only doing what “was right at the time”. I don’t buy either one. This is a man who was raking in millions of dollars outsourcing what he knew the Chinese would use as research into bioweapons on top of the millions he was already making as director of NIAID and investments in Big Pharma. I know which way I’m leaning.
He is a cretinous, egotistical, apparatchik. I cannot stand the sight of him
