Capitol Police Officers Receive Slap On Wrist For Jan 6

A slap on the wrist. That is essentially what six Capitol Police officers face after multiple internal investigations. The events of January 6 were SO momentous that, only six will be disciplined…sort of.

The USCP’s Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) launched 38 internal investigations. The U.S. Attorney’s Office did not find sufficient evidence that any of the officers committed a crime.

OPR was able to identify the officers involved in 26 of the cases. (Some complaints did not contain enough information to identify the officer at the center of the complaint.)

In 20 of the cases, no wrongdoing was found.

Violations were sustained and disciplinary action was recommended in six cases;

Three for conduct unbecoming
One for failure to comply with directives
One for improper remarks
One for improper dissemination of information

Another case about an official who is accused of unsatisfactory performance and conduct unbecoming is still pending. The administrative investigation started after a criminal investigation, in which charges were not filed.

Let’s take a step back and look at this for a moment. Keep in mind that what happened at our US Capitol on January 6th was flat out WRONG. Was it insurrection? No, it was stupidity. Were people’s lives in danger? No, AOC, they weren’t. Did people die? Yes, ONE. Ashli Babbitt.

But now we have a report, slid under the radar late in the day during the 20th Anniversary of 9/11. The report which tells us that there were LOTS of investigations! The report that says people were disciplined and well, they’ve learned their lesson!

Look, I work with law enforcement. I work with a lot of great people. This kind of disciplinary action is literally a slap on the wrist.

But the bulk of the cases were deemed unsubstantiated, including a dozen in which the department was unable to identify the officer involved in the alleged misconduct. In addition, the department announced that the U.S. attorney’s office for Washington, D.C., did not find enough evidence in any of the cases to charge a crime.

In other words, in order to look like they are doing something, the powers that be are issuing slaps on the wrist to a chosen few.

Meanwhile, people are wondering why the Capitol Police didn’t pay attention to the warnings..

In other words, despite detailed notifications, the Capitol Police board, which includes both the House and Senate Sergeant at Arms folks, IGNORED the warnings they’d received, and went about their business as if January 6th was going to be an ordinary day.

So much so, that when people showed up at the Capitol, the police, by their own admission yesterday, LET THEM IN.

Keep in mind, Ashli Babbitt was THE ONLY PERSON killed that day. And she was shot by a Capitol Police officer with a dismal track record. That officer ran to the media posts hast with his side of the story. One that, in my opinion, doesn’t add up. Is he facing investigation and getting disciplined for his role in what happened? No, not even a slap on the wrist.

Meanwhile, other officers such as Harry Dunn get the full court fawning political and press treatment. All while ignoring that those in jail for stupidly entering the U.S. Capitol that day have A. been deprived of due process, and B. Are essentially being treated as terrorists even though their stupid actions were just that, STUPID.

Seriously, PLEASE give me an exact play by play diagram of what, where, when, and how all those who entered the U.S. Capitol were going to raze it to the ground? Seriously, that’s how the testimony was that day. ‘We were all going to DIE!’ was the mantra of every officer who testified.

Quite honestly, WHAT AN ‘EFFING DISGRACE!

It has become readily apparent that there were warnings that people were going to get stupid. And they did. Who also got stupid? The Capitol Police for letting them into the building. For showing them how to follow those cute velvet tourist rope things. For pointing out where the bathrooms were and which hall to take to Nancy Pelosi’s office.

With the end result that we have idiots with their feet on desks, a shaman guy, and Ashli Babbitt shot dead.

As I mentioned above, there are GREAT police officers out there. Ones that hold themselves to that high standard every day.

The results of the Capitol Police investigation, are, by definition, a major slap on the wrist. Why, because even the idiots who traipsed through the U.S. Capitol are now being held to higher standards than the guys culpable for freely letting them into the damned building!!
