Stop me if you’ve heard this one already. A group of 116 Africans cross the Rio Grande River… yes, I said Africans crossing the Rio Grande.
It happened just last week.

“Large groups present a unique challenge for the men and women of the Del Rio Sector,” said Chief Raul Ortiz. “This large group from Africa further demonstrates the complexity and severity of the border security and humanitarian crisis at our Southwest border.”
Agents performing line watch operations apprehended the group after they illegally crossed the Rio Grande into the U.S. around 10:30 p.m.”
This is the first large group apprehended in the Del Rio Sector and the first large group of people from Africa – including nationals from Angola, Cameroon and Congo – apprehended on the Southwest border this year.”
Agents have encountered 182 large groups of more than 100 individuals across the Southwest border so far this fiscal year.”
Last night, U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 100 illegal aliens from Congo, Angola, and Cameroon near the U.S.–Mexico border.

So many questions here…
First, that’s a long trip from Africa. This group didn’t swim the Atlantic, walk through Mexico, and then try and wade across the Rio Grande River. There was money involved here somewhere. But we don’t know how this African group got from point A to point B.
Second, there’s a reason they’re trying to sneak in through the border. What would it be? We don’t know if this group claimed refugee status or not. What kind of paperwork did they have on them? If they got on any kind of commercial airplane at any point between Angola, Cameroon, Congo, and Mexico, they would have had passports or identification of some kind. Why not take a flight directly to the United States and then claim asylum as refugees? Would they have passed a medical screening?
Third, it’s now obviously international common knowledge that the southern border is easy to get through. This African group, according to the video involved, had small children being carried across the river. The Border Patrol is being overwhelmed by the numbers.
The situation is beyond ridiculous politically, and it’s becoming a human tragedy. The chaos suits the Democrat open-border agenda. The GOP is paralyzed by fear of appearing “mean” to those trying to cross, and did nothing while they held both houses of Congress. And now groups of Africans – not Central Americans who are caravaning to the border, helped by Mexico – are showing up. We are in DEEP trouble.

GWB says: First, they are in violation of the international agreements on asylum. There is no way IN HELL they didn’t arrive in a country where they could have claimed asylum before reaching the Rio Grande. So, F* ‘EM as far as I’m concerned with their asylum requests: REJECTED. NEXT!
Second, Africans makes my crocodile idea a little less effective, maybe, as they are more likely to recognize the critters than South/Central Americans are.
Third, you’re absolutely right about fear. Well, I don’t have any fear, and I have very little remaining sympathy. So, I say break out the bean bag rounds while they’re in the river. They should never reach our side, ideally.
Fourth, you’re also right about money. Follow the money. Find the person financing this and end it. They are actually sponsoring an invasion of the US, and should therefore be treated as a combatant. That means you arrest them through whatever means necessary (think a bunch of very capable men dressed all in black and a quick, painful whisking to a very quiet helicopter) and hold a trial for their attacks on us, or you can not bother with the arrest and simply stop at “quick”.
Oh, and confiscate all his money, since he’s using it to finance a war on the US.
Put ME in charge of our border security. I’ll end the crisis.
GWB says: Oh, and I still think we should go all Pershing/Winfield Scott on Mexico. Invade it, annex the northern area where the cartels are our biggest threat, and stomp it into order (and eventually make it a bunch of US States*).

Jim says: Reports in the Australian media state that just prior to the Australian Federal Election 6 boat loads of illegal immigrants set out from Sri Lanka for Australia. At the time it seemed certain that the Labor/Socialist Left parties would win the election and take power. The Left include many who support open borders. It seems that people smugglers watch political events in [desirable] western countries and are ready to sell seats on boats to any wanting to evade legal entry methods and requirements. One of the Sri Lankan boats foundered and the passengers were rescued and returned to Sri Lanka. There have been no reports about the others; perhaps they turned back when they realised the Left had not won government. When the Left were last in power they dismantled strict border protection laws, so thousands attempted to come by boat to Northern Australia – and thousands drowned due to the ”compassion” [read: virtue signalling] of the ”caring” Left.

Jim says: Dangerous species don’t stop illegal immigrants. All around the Northern coast of Australia there are salt water crocodiles that grow as big as 20 feet long and are the most dangerous of all the big reptiles. They take full grown cattle and any human stupid enough to wade in water as shallow as two feet deep or even stand close to the water’s edge. Each year people are taken by crocs in Australia.

Until this recent invasion, the largest number of illegal aliens were those who got a visa to temporarily visit here and simply stayed.
