BLM: Follow The Money To The Mansion

BLM: Follow The Money To The Mansion

While Black Lives Matter (BLM) supporters spent the whole summer of 2020 setting cars on fire and breaking windows, the organization was doing some serious fundraising. How much fundraising, you ask? Well, enough to buy a mansion!

Or two, or three…

You might remember the story of Patrisse Khan-Cullors, a co-founder of Black Lives Matter Global Foundation Network and a self-avowed Marxist. Khan went on a real-estate buying binge to include a $1.3 million-dollar home in Topanga Canyon, a “custom ranch” in Georgia, and homes in other locations to total $3.2 million. Marxists love their million-dollar homes tucked away from all of the riff-raff, don’t they? For as much as they hate the white rich people, they want to live just like them! (See Oprah Winfrey.)

Khan-Cullors resigned from BLM in May 2021. But, she was innocent. A “champion” for Black people, as some outlets defended:

Patrisse’s work for Black people over the years has made her and others who align with the fight for Black liberation targets of racist violence. The narratives being spread about Patrisse have been generated by right-wing forces intent on reducing the support and influence of a movement that is larger than any one organization. This right-wing offensive not only puts Patrisse, her child and her loved ones in harm’s way, it also continues a tradition of terror by white supremacists against Black activists. All Black activists know the fear these malicious and serious actions are meant to instill: the fear of being silenced, the trauma of being targeted, the torture of feeling one’s family is exposed to danger just for speaking out against unjust systems. We have seen this tactic of terror time and again, but our movement will not be silenced.”-The Black Lives Matter Global Movement

How dare the racists spread a narrative that shines a light on the hypocrisy of self-proclaimed Marxist whose goal is to bring down the white bourgeoisie. They’re just trying to silence Patrisse Khan-Cullors-those fascist bigots!

And there was silence until this came across the news feeds yesterday. It seems BLM moved millions of dollars to a charity in Canada. This charity, M4BJ, a non-profit based in Toronto, was set up in part by Janaya Khan, Patrisse’s wife. M4BJ becomes flush with funding two months later in July 2021, and, lo-and-behold, purchases a 10,000 square foot historic property for the equivalent of $6.3 million in cash. More irony here? The mansion purchased once belonged to the Communist Party of Canada. I’m sure the devout Marxists, Patrisse and Janaya, could not resist snatching up this little sentimental piece of history. Why did they purchase this mansion?

Nope.

The mansion has been converted and named, The Wildseed Centre for Art and Activism. From their website:

Wildseed is a transformed industrial space; a blank canvas reimagined as a multipurpose artist-run community incubator, gallery, studio and home to Black Lives Matter — Canada.”

Clearly, they are not shy about their association with BLM, are they? More:

Wildseed is a transfeminist, queer affirming space politically aligned with supporting Black liberation work across Canada.”

Of course, they are. They forgot the buzzwords intersectional, inclusive, tolerant. I’d better watch it. My White Privilege is showing.

The Wildseed crew is also conscious of whose land they are on:

Wildseed is located in T’karón:to on Three Fires Territory and the territory of the Dish with One Spoon Wampum. This area is covered by Treaty 13. We learn from the Land and are so thankful to be here, in this place. We are in solidarity with Land Back and support Indigenous resurgence.”

We know this is your land. But we paid 6 million for this place and we’re gonna keep it. So, yeah. We stand in solidarity on your stolen land.

The staff is made up of a diverse group of Black artists, writers and performers who kindly provide their preferred pronouns in their bios. Most, if not all are affiliated with BLM Canada. They are the “artivists”, the “community organizers”, the “social justice educators”.

Today, I’d like to challenge a BLM-supporting liberal who worships at the Church of Woke. BLM is a 501(c)(3) organization. It is an organization with a lot of cash and donors and, apparently, not a lot of fiduciary transparency. Before liberals from the Church of Woke tell me that I am racist bigot for pointing this out, I will say that I am not afraid to say the same thing I am about to say about some large mega-churches led by mostly white people. The buildings, the vacations, the prestige and notoriety seem to outweigh any work that is being done in the surrounding communities of some of these churches as well. Yet, people make donations in the form of tithes in the hopes that people at the helm will do the right thing. They claim they do but much like BLM, they don’t. If we look hard at our cities and predominantly Black communities, are they any better, any safer, any less-marginalized for residents than they were 8 years ago at the inception of BLM? I would bet they are not. I would bet they are worse off than they were before.

Those not in touch with reality will remain oblivious and chant meaningless platitudes and insults at naysayers until the cows come home. They will take their kids to the Church of Woke and fund these “inclusive, intersectional, diverse spaces on stolen land” and teach them to also be “artivists”, “allies” and “community organizers”. Yet, they will never take their children into these ravaged inner-cities that became uninhabitable in some cases after BLM activists swept through with riots. They will never talk to families who have owned businesses there and lost their life’s work. They will never think to go to a local school in one of these neighborhoods and ask the administration if there are any families in need. They will never think of these tools as those that stop oppression and hate but will continue to fund divisive people and agendas. It’s time wake up and follow the BLM money to the Marxist mansion that cost millions.
