Biden Took Classified Documents While Senator

Yes, you read that correctly. More classified documents were found in Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home. This time, some of those documents were from when Joe Biden was a SENATOR.

Federal investigators found more classified materials during a search of President Biden’s Delaware home — with some dating back to his years in the Senate, Biden’s lawyer announced Saturday.

Bob Bauer, Biden’s newly acquired personal lawyer, said the Justice Department took six documents marked classified and some of Biden’s notes during a Friday search that lasted 13 hours.

When was Joe Biden’s last year as a Senator?? 2008. That was FIFTEEN years ago. So he’s had these documents for at least that long, or longer. Now why would he have classified documents from that time period? How is it that Joe would’ve been able to lay his grubby hands on classified documents?

Oh perhaps because he was on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee! Not only that, but he was CHAIR of the committee from 2001-2003, and again Chair from 2006-2008. As our brilliant readers know, if one is able to view classified documents, they have to be viewed in a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) …and then LEFT THERE.

So how in the hell was Joe able to waltz out of there with classified documents?? Did he stuff them down his pants like Sandy Berger did??

It wasn’t just six pieces of paper. NOPE. It was more.

The Justice Department, he added, ‘took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate (1973 to 2009,) and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President (from 2009 through 2017).’

Upon reading the above, multiple questions come to mind. How many documents were of the “surrounding materials?” Furthermore, if there were surrounding documents pertaining to Joe’s Vice President years, then it’s fair to assume that there’s likely some classified documents from those same years roaming around either of Joe’s homes.

This search was conducted on Friday. The very same day that the Bidens jaunted off for yet another weekend in Delaware, this time just down the road at their beach house. Had they originally planned to spend the weekend at the Wilmington home?

On Thursday, Joe went on record to tell the world that there’s nothing to see here and he has no regrets. Then we find out that Ron Klain is definitely leaving the White House after the State of the Union, and that he’s been talking about leaving since November. The FIRST documents were “discovered” on November 2nd. The Daily Mail has a handy timeline chart here. I’m sure it’s going to be updated multiple times over the next days and weeks.

Furthermore, with the now around 30 actual documents along with however many additional documents gathered up, it seems more locations are being considered for searches.

Again, those are just the classified documents. What else is in the surrounding materials that skates on the edge? How many of those documents were directly from Joe’s time as a U.S. Senator and what years??

If Joe played fast and loose with classified documents during that time, and it looks like he did, then the Democrats not only voted for a man who is a plagiarist and grifter, but also voted for a man who has never cared about our national security. Oh yes, something else to consider, Joe ALSO served on the Homeland Security committee until 2008.

But the prevailing spin has been that this was accidental. It was inadvertent. Somehow, some way, those pesky classified documents just showed up. From where? “I dunno, they just did.”

Well, that spin doesn’t cut it anymore. Even as the likes of Chris Coons tell ABC News this morning that truly, all of this was inadvertent, it wasn’t. Why would Hunter make 160 trips to that very same home over the course of 52 days in 2017? Why were boxes of important documents left out during a family birthday party? How about those boxes in the garage guarded by that Corvette?

But again, it’s the fact that classified documents from Joe’s time as a U.S. Senator were found in that home should send alarm bells ringing all over the place. Furthermore, the DOJ should be dropping everything and head to Joe’s beach house and start searching there. IMO, the homes of all family members need to be searched as well.

Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Tim Kaine (D-VA) want a full investigation on this. Which tells me that there IS a ‘there, there.’

For those who will leap to the “but Trump!” mantra, go pound sand. These are classified documents Joe has had for decades. These are classified documents tossed around willy nilly in garages and left on tables during family events.  And no, sloppiness isn’t the way to spin this.

The media and Democrat politicians can no longer stay willfully blind on this issue. They KNEW about Biden’s lack of character, but went ahead and shoved him into the Presidency anyway. They built this, and now the chickens are coming home to roost.

“then the Democrats not only voted for a man who is a plagiarist and grifter, but also voted for a man who has never cared about our national security”… And all but the lowest of the low info voters already knew this, and voted for him anyway. The DO NOT CARE Democrats are the “enemies domestic” that many of us took oaths to defend against…

  • John Dickson says:

All this hullabaloo, bottom line, talk, talk, talk, nothing will happen, the corruption has been going on for decades. Give it a month, no one will even remember (or care).

  • Kevin says:

“voted for a man who has never cared about our national security” … I’m sure, 100% positive there’s a statement with your name on it that says the same thing about TFG (the f%$king genius), the grifter-in-chief, tRump and his hoarding of 300+ documents and lying to everyone he had them.

With that said, BOTH should be held accountable to the full extent of the law. Period. No exceptions. Now, let’s see if you can say that, Scott.

Who’s the “enemy of the state” of now?

    • Turtler says:

Ah yes, the dishonest gaslighter shows their face again.

      ” … I’m sure, 100% positive”

…because you’re a classic case of Dunning-Kruger and clowned yourself trying to make an overwrought analogy about elephants to show how much you “researched” only to get taken apart when I brought actual research.

So many of your problems come from the fact that you are so, so confident you are right, and thus that whatever you feel (because that’s really what you do more than anything, FEEL rather than think) must be justified. On these threads it makes you a fool that people like me dunk on. Outside of these threads, it makes you a monster.

“there’s a statement with your name on it that says the same thing about TFG (the f%$king genius), the grifter-in-chief, tRump and his hoarding of 300+ documents and lying to everyone he had them.”

Except Trump had every legal right to “hoard” such documents, as he was a President with classification ability. Biden was not and is not. We’ve been through this.

Also given your lies on this site before, I sure as heck will not trust you about Trump’s lies.

“With that said, BOTH should be held accountable to the full extent of the law. Period. No exceptions.”

Oh, I believe so. The issue is, I don’t think for one second you believe so.

You tipped your hand when you demonized Trump and those defending him as Fascists (ironic given how the Fascists were totalitarian, nationalist, centralizing socialists). I doubt you have said a single word about the January 6th “suspects” held for a year without bail or trial in violation of the laws and regular practice of this constitution.

You don’t care about the law beyond if you can use it as a weapon to destroy those you view as haters, as fascists, and as the neemy.

” Now, let’s see if you can say that, Scott.”

Saying is one thing. Actually believing it is another. Your virtue signaling is thin, and nothing you have written on here has given me any reason to believe you write in anything approaching good faith.

“Who’s the “enemy of the state” of now?”

To be an enemy of the state is less damning than to be an enemy of the people, and things like double standards of the law, malicious targeting of private citizens, and holding people incommunicado in inhumane conditions without trial are all injustices against the public writ large, and those dumb or immoral enough to think that it is ok because it is merely targeting a set of “the people” they disagree with have not understood history.

    • Scott says:

Well, it’s definitely not apples to apples there Kevin, since as President, Trump is the ultimate classifying authority, and he is legally able to declassify documents (something that is not the case at all regarding the documents that Biden stole…

That being said, if laws were broken by either of them, then damn right they should be held accountable under the law. Justice should be blind, the letter after a persons name should not influence how thorough the investigation is, or how many laws the FBI will break in order to get the outcome they desire.

  • Lloyd says:

Comparing apples with oranges here Keven: Trump was on the political stage for a short four years (and did a lot of good for American during those years.) Old Joe Biden has been a corrupt politician for years…and years…and years. Papa Joe and sleazy boy, Hunter rest rich in the pockets of China!. Neither worked a day in their lives !!!!

  • John C. says:

Katyal mentions mens rea as possibly being an out for Biden, but for a lot of things pertaining to national security, mens rea doesn’t matter. Unless you are sufficiently well-connected, and of the right political group.

  • Sean G says:

When I was in the military, I knew two people who were discovered to have classified documents. In both cases it seemed to be fairly innocent, someone keeping a “souvenir” for personal memories. Both of these men are now serving LIFE sentences in military prison. This is the real two-tiered system of American justice, one system for most of the folks and a different system for the “special” people, usually but not always the politically connected.
Does this Joe Biden thing make me angry? You bet it does. The Trump thing made me angry too, but at least the President has authority to declassify documents. Biden had no such authority, this is not a mistake but a crime.

  • Hominem Humilem says:

Ironically, Mr. Katyal evidently is supposed to teach national security law. If that’s true, his comments don’t earn the “slack” one might give to the ignorant. There is no “sloppiness defense” for someone caught with classified documents (he was cleared, but having them in an unsecured place is a crime); Professor Katyal knows that, so his comments are malicious, not ignorant.

  • Snidely Whiplash says:

Unless things have changed since I was in the military decades ago classified documents don’t have to be read only in a SCIF.

That said they must be in the physical custody of the person who signed for them at all times, or locked in a certified safe that is designed and classified as for that purpose.

So maybe they’ve changed the rules, which would make working with classified documents nearly impossible for those that work with them all day every day, or they trust politicians so little that they force them to use a SCIF every time. I’d vote for the second.

And the imbecile claiming intent counts…not with classified material it doesn’t. To get and keep a clearance you get briefed all the time about requirements for working with classified material. The law itself does not include a requirement for intent to mishandle and the large amount of material they are finding should allow for imputing that the violations were intention.

Here’s the huge difference between how the republicans and democrats are handling this situation. It’s taken a few days to see this but it’s coming in clearly now … Democrats are publicly speaking out about their disappointment in Biden and his handling confidential/secret documents … AND HE’S A SITTING PRESIDENT! Republicans, even to this day, do not have the cojones to speak out publicly about how TFG (The F%$king Genius) handled confidential documents AND his blatant obstruction of justice. There’s the difference … one party has a backbone, speaks the truth and the other protects a grifter, criminal and narcissistic mentally ill failed loser.

    • Scott says:

Kevin, your entire post is delusional. the last sentence especially describes biden and the dems to a T. Yes, dems are saying they’re “disappointed”.. then they quickly, just like you, say it’s no big deal, and we should just move on. These were criminal acts by biden, very liklely involving hunter and foreign (read Chinese) actors, to the detriment of National Security.

Additionally, beyond trying to wave it away, the only reason that dems are speaking up is because the date has passed where they can 25th old Joe and replace him, with the selected individual being able to serve two more terms. If you truly believe this is not part of the calculation, you really need help.

    • Turtler says:

“Here’s the huge difference between how the republicans and democrats are handling this situation.”

Several huge differences, NONE of which paint your side as better. A President has unilateral ability to declassify essentially anything. A Vice-President does not. Period, Full Stop.

Moreover, we had hysterical idiocy from people like you talking about how Trump should be executed for high treason and subjected to a 1984 style Damnation of Memory for the mere PROSPECT of it, while even those conservatives like myself who thoroughly hate Joe Biden and have for years merely want him arrested and imprisoned.

And that’s before we get into the utter double standards whereupon Trump’s lawyers were not even allowed to supervise matters while Biden’s were given marching orders and broad leeway.

Obviously, the chief concern was never justice.

” It’s taken a few days to see this but it’s coming in clearly now … Democrats are publicly speaking out about their disappointment in Biden and his handling confidential/secret documents … AND HE’S A SITTING PRESIDENT! ”

Ah, Discount Internet Ernst Roehm wishes his party to get blue ribbons for paying the most feeble of lip service to consistency in the face of an unpopular lodestone lame duck of a President committing far more egregious and undeniable sins than Trump?

      Why am I not surprised?

Spare me your virtue signaling, you clearly have none to offer.

“Republicans, even to this day, do not have the cojones to speak out publicly about how TFG (The F%$king Genius) handled confidential documents”

This is utter bullshit. Republicans have spoken out about it. Some of them (like RINOs such as Cheney) have condemned it. The rest of us point out how to those who are not utter fools, the situations are VASTLY different and infinitely less damning for Trump. As they correctly pointed out to deflate the literally murderous hysteria coming from the Left in which they proposed nakedly illegal and unconstitutional punishments for something that was probably never a crime and certainly was not clearly one.

“AND his blatant obstruction of justice.”

So blatant that none of you can coherently define what it was, and many conscientious democrat leftists like Dershowitz have called you and your ilk out for it.

I’d call this a witch hunt, but that would frankly be a disservice when you realize that many things that were labeled “witchcraft” (though of course far from all) were crimes such as poisoning, assault, vandalism, and so forth.

“There’s the difference … one party has a backbone, speaks the truth”

Alas, those parties are not the same.

” and the other protects a grifter, criminal and narcissistic mentally ill failed loser.”

But enough about you and the Democrats, Discount Roehm.

On second thought, conflating you with Roehm might be a disservice to the Brown Butcher. He too was a gay tyrannical socialist thug, but at least he was courageous and actually was a learned scholar. He also had more to his personality than his sexual preferences and ideology. Usually toxic sure, but it was there.

You on the other hand come on here and demonize us, as if you seek our death. And I’m honestly baffled what you hope to accomplish by coming here, especially given your spastic, schizophrenic lapsing between playing the Faux-Moderate and the Reach Across the Aisle while at other times calling us Fascists and Frauds while AntifA roams the countryside murdering people.

So is Joe Biden a mole or is he a spy? I’m going with mole. Over to you Kevin.
