AOC Cries For The Camera, Plays Politics With Vote

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez can’t decide what she really is, but it’s pretty clear that she isn’t a true believer in socialism.

We have learned over the last few weeks that AOC really is just cosplaying as a socialist. She says all the “right” things for her Justice Democrat cohort, and then she goes to the Met Gala with “Tax the Rich” plastered across her ass, while she twirls and spins and makes the masked servants carry the train of her dress. Yes, can’t you see by the words on her butt that she is a CHAMPION of the little people???

Nope, what AOC really wants is power, money, and playing dress-up in order to rub elbows with the rich and famous. She pretends to be a socialist in order to give herself the votes and the street cred, and then turns around and helps SELL the “tax the rich” line of stuff so those who can afford a $995 purse can feel like they are “sticking it to the MAN,” or something. Not to mention that her dress designer is a tax deadbeat who isn’t paying her fair share, and has used unpaid intern labor. Birds of a feather and all that, right, AOC?

While AOC really just wants to play princess party and wave for the cameras, she also has more lofty ambitions. Her congressional seat is so secure, after all, that Nancy Pelosi once snarked that a “glass of water” could win there if it had a “D” after its name. This means that AOC doesn’t really have to worry much about continually running for re-election. And unlike her other Squaddies, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar – who continue to win because of the demographic makeup of their congressional districts, but have little to zero chance of winning a statewide election – AOC would really like to win statewide office. She would LOVE to be “Senator AOC” someday. No mountain is too high for this one.

However, being a senator from a state like New York comes with certain realities and expectations. And one of those is not being a vicious anti-Semite like Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, who run the “Hamas Caucus” with zero consequences from their constituents. AOC wants to challenge Chuck Schumer from his left flank when he runs for re-election in 2022. Schumer knows this, which is why he has championed a lot of the hard left’s agenda, like student loan forgiveness. But he fully knows, just as much as AOC herself does, that she has said enough to make some pretty ugly campaign ads that could take her out at the knees statewide when it comes to Israel and Hamas.

This put the congresswoman in quite a pickle when it came to the Iron Dome funding bill. You see, everyone expects Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar to be ugly anti-Semites – but at least some in the Democrat party, albeit a little late, have realized just how disgusting they are and are willing to say something.

AOC cannot afford to stand up with her Squaddies to say what she really wants about the Iron Dome funding, so after initially voting “no,” she went and switched her vote to “present” like a weaselly little coward – and then made sure that she went and stood where the cameras could see her crying about it.

After being mocked roundly for her vote, she attempted to explain herself with a long letter about how much she didn’t support this bill, but still had to vote “present” because REASONS.

In a note addressed to “our NY-14 community,” Ocasio-Cortez said that even though she cast a “present” vote, “I am opposed to this bill.”

The House passed the standalone bill on a bipartisan 420-9 vote on Thursday, with the New York Democrat being one of two lawmakers in her party who voted “present.”

In her note, the New York Democrat explained that voting “present” would not defund the U.S.’s financing of the Iron Dome. She noted that the U.S. has provided $1.7 billion in funding for the system since 2011 and has already committed to funding the bill through 2028.”

But Ocasio-Cortez criticized the “reckless” decision by House leadership to rush Thursday’s vote on the separate funding for Israel. She explained that, “a funding leap this significant in a policy area that is already so charged and fraught for many communities” deserved proper due process.”

Ocasio-Cortez said that as it became clear that the discourse around the bill devolved into “hateful targeting,” she asked for a 24-hour stay of the vote, which was denied.”

“The damage of this careless process created very real spillover effects into our community,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote. She added that it “created a real sense of panic and horror among those in our community who otherwise engage thoughtfully in these discussions.”

And yes, she cried, but she only cried because LIFE IS HARD AND EVERYONE IS MEAN.

Yeah, you can read her entire letter here and it still doesn’t explain her “present” vote, which means that the only true explanation for changing her vote from “no” to “present” is the political reality that she wants to challenge Schumer, a Jewish Democrat who does support Israel, and needed the political distance from the Hamas Caucus.

That Democrat Senate primary contest next year is going to be hugely enjoyable if AOC decides to challenge Schumer. If the cosplaying socialist princess goes for it, I’m going to have to invest in industrial-sized bags of popcorn.
