Adam Schiff Says He Doesn’t Know Whistleblower Identity

This morning Adam Schiff categorically stated that he doesn’t know the identity of the whistleblower.

It took a minute for that to sink in. Adam Schiff, the driver of these impeachment hearings, has now categorically stated that he was never told the identity of the whistleblower?

It is very understandable that all members of the committee have the opportunity to question the whistleblower and determine his/her veracity regarding the actual complaint. Thus, this morning before witness opening statements, Republicans tried again.

“Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas) motioned that the committee subpoena the whistleblower for a closed-door hearing.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), who was added to the committee to bolster Trump’s defense, then pushed Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) for details on when the panel might vote to subpoena the whistleblower.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) questioned Schiff on whether he would block lawmakers from asking certain questions of witnesses. Schiff responded that he would only do so if it members were seeking to publicize the identity of the whistleblower.

“We will do everything necessary to protect the whistleblower’s identity, and i’m disturbed to hear members of the committee… seek to undermine those protections by outing the whistleblower,” Schiff said.”

Schiff shot them down, and in doing so, as you see above, flatly stated that he (Schiff for brains) knows nuthin’ about nobody.

Wow. First of all, Schiff has repeatedly stated that everything the whistleblower complained about is factual and that there is no need for even closed door testimony.

Secondly, Schiff was caught lying by the Washington Post about the identity of the whistleblower. Schiff’s own interview with Anderson Cooper makes it clear that Schiff knows the identity of the whistleblower.

His interview with Morning Joe makes it clear that Schiff knows the whistleblower is male.

The Washington Post then pointed out that it was clear that Schiff and staffers knew the whistleblower complaint was going to happen.

“”Schiff’s answers are especially interesting in the wake of reports in the New York Times and The Washington Post that the whistleblower approached a House Intelligence Committee staff member for guidance before filing a complaint with the Intelligence Community inspector general. The staff member learned the “very bare contours” of the allegation that Trump has abused the powers of his office, The Post said.””

Schiff’s assertions that the whistleblower doesn’t need to testify is now suspect given his statement this morning. Not only that, but it is utterly laughable to believe that Schiff doesn’t know who this person is. Unless we are to believe that Schiff has been hiding under a rock these past few weeks?

That is key. Schiff threatened to slap Republicans with ethics complaints if they dare to publish the identity of the whistleblower.

Seriously, how is Schiff going to punish Republicans for saying the whistleblowers name while, at the same time he himself is claiming he doesn’t know who Voldemort is?

How can he say that when it is now known that someone put up a Go Fund Me for the whistleblower? One that has already raked in over $227,000?

Given that new complaint, one would presume that that information would be given to Adam Schiff and he along with his staffers would or SHOULD question the whistleblower about this. But nooooo… having the whistleblower testify behind closed doors is “redundant and unnecessary” to these hearings according to the Grand Poobah of Lying Liars.

These impeachment hearings are a farce wrapped up in a coup attempt that started the day after the election and went barreling down the tracks at full speed on Inauguration Day.

Wanna be Emperor Adam Schiff wants Trump gone. So much so that he will lie like a rug and foist an illegal impeachment coup attempt upon this Republic in order to make it happen.

  • So… if nobody knows who the hoaxblower is – are they even real? Or is this a fictitious “complaint” drafted by Schiff’s minions and then passed through Atkinson? (The latter does NOT have clean hands in this affair.)

I just watched through both the opening statements and then both the democratic and republican 45 minute allotted time slots. I didn’t watch the 5 minute Q & A tennis match after the lengthier sessions. My takeaway … Ambassador Taylor and Deputy Assistant Secretary George Kent were nonpartisan (I was extremely impressed by their CV’s in which they were both recruited by both parties to serve our nation), stated what they witnessed (or identified if they were not a first hand witness to the information and then explained where it came from), and are intelligent, believable, highly competent, truthful, and respect and support the United States of America. I do not doubt their love for this country or their support for the goals and objectives of the United States.

Their first hand stories were concerning about the actions of the President and some of the people surrounding him. Both of them having served under both parties for many years had never seen this before, where a President was seeking a personal favor in lieu the support of the United States of America. What concerns me even more is their perspective on Russia and Russia’s all out war to damage Ukrainian’s fledgling democracy and get mud all over of the face of the United States. Mission accomplished. And knowing that today, it appears little is being done to counteract that. You could tell, especially from Ambassador Taylor’s testimony, that he was very concerned about Russia’s involvement.

After the election in 2016, had President Trump just simply went about the work of being President and not follow these wild conspiracy theories, he would be sitting at AT LEAST 50.1% of support; enough to easily win him re-election. I truly believe that. Had he compartmentalized the shit show around him and not listened to the long line of crazy people surrounding him, he would be sitting pretty today and just counting the days to his re-election. Yet, for whatever reason (and I will not speculate) he is unable let things go. I firmly believe that he honestly believes their is a hidden server in the basement of some Ukrainian that was once owned by Hillary Clinton. He’s got to figure out how to be vindicated and what he doesn’t know is, if he had done the job he was elected to do he would be vindicated (most importantly by the people in the suburbs, independents, women, minorities and others). The progressive left may never support him but that wouldn’t matter had he the support of the swing/independent voters.

The entire scenario is very sad … very, very sad. History will not look kindly on Donald Trump.

in which they were both recruited by both parties to serve our nation
Sorry, but that most likely means Foggy Bottom apparatchiks, members of the Deep State, providing “continuity” despite the will of the American people or the Constitution.

      had never seen this before
Well, outrage is something the Deep State and the progressive establishment is very adept at expressing – sincerely or not.

where a President was seeking a personal favor
Oh please. Presidents use that sort of language all the time.

get mud all over of the face of the United States
That wasn’t the Ukrainians or the Russians achieving that. It was people like Schiff, the State Dept., and our own media. Oh, and 8 years of the Empty Suit.

he would be sitting at AT LEAST 50.1%
You do know he has a higher/as-high-as approval rating than 0bama did, right? Depending on the poll you look at, it’s “the highest of” some sub-group of presidents.

if he had done the job he was elected to do
Digging out the Deep State and the corrupticrats IS part of what he was elected to do, and he IS SUCCEEDING.

most importantly by the people in the suburbs, independents, women, minorities and others
Hah! He has the highest approval ratings among blacks and hispanics of any Republican of late. Oodles of women voted for him. Swing voters still express support for him. (If only the Democrats had someone to run who wasn’t nuts, totalitarian, anti-American, or all three!)

Maybe Howard Zinn’s history won’t look kindly on Trump. But actual history probably will.

      Concern troll be gone!

(Honestly, don’t the seminars tell you to avoid cliches like “… were concerning about the actions of the President ….”. (Four dots, one word per dot.))

    • GWB says:

Oh, and to the “50.1% support” he should have….
[Trump’s approval rating] was at 46% on Wednesday morning, then rose to 48% yesterday and is now at 50%.

      Also:
At this stage of his first term, President Barack Obama was at 49%.
Rasmussen polls found via Washington Examiner.

Where would Trump be if you could filter out the media bias?

  • GWB says:

I don’t think it is necessary to hear from the “whistleblower”. He put his testimony in the complaint, and it’s abundantly clear nothing in the complaint rises to the level of a “high crime” or a “misdemeanor”. Absolutely nothing.

  • Kevin says:

“Sorry, but that most likely means Foggy Bottom apparatchiks, members of the Deep State, providing “continuity” despite the will of the American people or the Constitution.” What did Taylor and Kent say today as far as referencing the United States goals in Ukraine goes against American interests? When they spoke of the danger of Russia’s interference and supporting a free and fledgling democracy is that not what is in the best interest of the US?

“Presidents use that sort of language all the time.” The two career professionals had never heard that language before. What other president has asked a foreign leader or nation to assist in a personal favor to benefit themselves?

“Hah! He has the highest approval ratings among blacks and hispanics of any Republican of late. Oodles of women voted for him. Swing voters still express support for him. (If only the Democrats had someone to run who wasn’t nuts, totalitarian, anti-American, or all three!)” We will have to disagree on this one. From what I read and hear, those people in the middle are leaning away from Donald Trump (if not running away). The only guaranteed accurate measurement will be captured on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Until then you and I will disagree if he is supported by the above mentioned demographics or not.

GWB … This is an unrelated response to the impeachment proceedings … how does one create italics in the comment section? I like how it stands out in your responses. I tried formatting in Word and then pasting it but it all goes back to plain text. TIA

    • GWB says:

The two career professionals had never heard that language before.
Bullhockey. (IOW, I don’t believe them.)

To do italics and bolding, use the “em” and “strong” tags. Like this:
less-than-bracket.em.greater-than-bracket stuff you want to italicize less-than-bracket./em.greater-than-bracket
Do NOT put the periods in. I only put those in there to separate the “em” from the brackets.

(Unfortunately, you cannot type the dadgum brackets, because the browser will assume a tag and ignore them. Hmmm…. maybe this will work:
<em> stuff you want to italicize </em>
      )

    • GWB says:

Oh, as to women and suburbs supporting Trump….
OpenSecrets.org “shows Trump is benefiting from a surge in large-dollar donations from women in suburbs – more than any Democrat candidate.”

  • zenman says:

So, if Joe Biden were alleged to have murdered someone in Kiev, would it be proper for Trump to personally ask the Ukrainian President to make sure it was investigated, or would that be considered “seeking a personal favor,” with or without holding up aid to that country?

Whether the allegations were true or false depends on if it’s damaging to Joe Biden or helpful to Trump isn’t it?

  • zenman says:

“Presidents use that sort of language all the time.” The two career professionals had never heard that language before. What other president has asked a foreign leader or nation to assist in a personal favor to benefit themselves?

    ************

But if Joe Biden is corrupt, or participated in corruption of some sort in the Ukraine, isn’t knowing that of value to our nation, whether or not it personally benefits Trump? And it only benefits Trump if corruption is turned up. If the Ukrainians have an investigation and it clears Biden, doesn’t that potentially hurt Trump?

    • GWB says:

And it only benefits Trump if…
Biden IS the nominee in Nov 2020, and is harmed by it.
That’s the other necessary component. (Of course, nominating Biden would be one way the DNC could help Trump win election, anyway, so……)

  • zenman says:

    What of Obama saying:

“On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space,” Mr. Obama could be heard saying to Mr. Medvedev, according a reporter from ABC News, who was traveling with the president.

“Yeah, I understand,” the departing Russian president said. “I understand your message about space. Space for you … .”

Mr. Obama then elaborated in a portion of the exchange picked up by the cameras: “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”

“I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir,” Mr. Medvedev said, referring to Prime Minister Vladimir V. Putin, who just won an election to succeed Mr. Medvedev.

Give me space on this issue, so I don’t have to commit to anything, which will help me get re-elected, and then we can negotiate it.
