The confirmation of future Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is about to begin tomorrow morning. Despite the best digging by media, Democrats, and the left (I think I repeated myself), all that has been revealed is that Judge Kavanaugh likes baseball, his wife once was town manager, and he once called the police to report his car being stolen.
Really, that’s it. If they had anything substantial, we would have heard about it by now.
But that’s not stopping the impending crazy.
We’re counting down the days until women come together in DC and take bold action to #CancelKavanaugh and say #BrettBye.
We’re all in this together. Here are some ways you can add your voice and your power to ours:

First rule of social media: only use one hashtag. No one told the Women’s March this, apparently.
1. Go to https://t.co/TzsfwyqCtv and sign up to join us and 20 other women’s organizations in DC on Tuesday, 9/4.
We’re showing up in person to tell our Senators that they can’t confirm Kavanaugh and strip us of our rights.
Not on our watch.#CancelKavanaugh #BrettBye pic.twitter.com/oI5QtU1cTC
— Women's March (@womensmarch) September 2, 2018
I’m still not convinced.
2. Write a letter to your Senator telling them you expect them to #CancelKavanaugh.
Senators have to choose: Will they enable the president as he tries to railroad his nominee through the confirmation process, or will they vote on the side of the people?https://t.co/KliQIPjcqP
— Women's March (@womensmarch) September 2, 2018
But what if the people see Judge Kavanaugh as a pretty solid choice for the Supreme Court? The Women’s March still wants us to call our senators, right?
3. Donate to the #CancelKavanaugh crowdrise. we need resources to take direct action, to bring people to DC, to provide food and housing to courageous women—first-time activists and seasoned organizers alike.
We can’t say #BrettBye without your support. https://t.co/z8qeZlrJHt

Ohhhhhhh, that’s what this is about. Raising money.
Women’s March leadership aside, the Democrats – most of whom have already indicated if they are against Kavanaugh by their public statements and tweets – are getting ready for a massive amount of grandstanding.
The main event begins Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., when the Judiciary Committee’s 21 members will hear introductions from former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, and Lisa Blatt, a self-described “liberal feminist” lawyer.
Over the course of the next two days, Kavanaugh will be grilled by Senate Democrats and Republicans in two rounds of questioning. The first round will begin Wednesday, when members of the Judiciary Committee will get 30 minutes apiece. On Thursday, each senator will have 20 minutes for the second round of questioning.
The fourth day of Kavanaugh’s hearing, Friday, will hear from four panels of witnesses from the majority and the minority.
Before the close of the hearing, senators will hear from a group that includes two former solicitors general, Kavanaugh’s ex-law clerks, legal scholars, and other members of the legal community, who will offer their support for the Supreme Court nominee.
Among those scheduled to testify for Judiciary Committee Democrats are John Dean, the former White House counsel for President Richard Nixon, Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Rep. Cedric Richmond, D-La., and Aalayah Eastmond, a survivor of the February shooting at a high school in Parkland, Fla.
The witnesses for the minority will speak about abortion, healthcare, executive power, gun violence, and abortion rights, among other issues, according to the office of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.
The word “circus” comes to mind.
The members of the Judiciary Committee are likely to present Kavanaugh with questions on a breadth of topics, including his relationship with former Judge Alex Kozinski of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, who Kavanaugh clerked for in 1991. Kozinski retired from the federal bench late last year after he was accused of sexual misconduct by at least 15 women.
“Alex Kozinski’s relationship with Judge Kavanaugh is a legitimate area of inquiry and I plan to question Judge Kavanaugh on this topic,” Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, told the Associated Press.
And when all else fails, go for guilt by association. Judge Kavanaugh is going to be asked questions about his former boss from 27 years ago, just to see if Democrats can trip him up about the behavior of the boss, not his own. It’s not going to go well for Senator Hirono.
Sen. Hirono should know better than most that one can work with a sexual harasser without knowing about his inappropriate behavior. As Severino points out, Hirono served with Sen. Al Franken on the Senate Judiciary Committee for four years, presumably without knowing of his propensities.
Kavanaugh is poised to win big on the issue of how he treats female law clerks. Severino reminds us that a majority (25 of 48) of Judge Kavanaugh’s law clerks have been women, and every one of them not precluded from doing so by her current employer has endorsed Kavanaugh. The female former clerks cite the mentoring and support he provides not just during the clerkship, but as they advance in the legal profession. Indeed, according to Severino, 20 of Kavanaugh’s female law clerks have gone on to clerk at the Supreme Court.
No wonder all of his former female clerks (again, excluding the ones who can’t because of their employment status) signed a letter to Chairman Grassley and Ranking Member Feinstein describing Kavanaugh as “one of the strongest advocates in the federal judiciary for women lawyers.”
And Democrats are starting to realize that they’ve already lost this round – and they lost it years ago.
.@amyklobuchar on @MeetThePress shows regret for Senate Dems going nuclear for most noms in 2013: “I don’t think we should’ve made that change when we look back at it.”

Thanks, Harry Reid!
Thanks to all of you who encouraged me to consider filibuster reform. It had to be done.

Hey, let's grab a power that can be used against us in the future! https://t.co/Hnt9k9kZde

we need resources to take direct action
I don’t think they know what that phrase generally means, “direct action”. Unless they’re using that money to hire a goon squad to beat up Senators that vote yes, they’re not really talking about “direct action”.
Ohhhhhhh, that’s what this is about. Raising money.
Yep. Money and power is all these folks have ever been about.
John Dean, the former White House counsel for President Richard Nixon
ROFLMAO! They had to go dick up a Nixon relic!
And, I really don’t see ANYONE relevant testifying for the persecution.
Aalayah Eastmond, a survivor of the February shooting at a high school in Parkland, Fla.
Like this one. What is the point, exactly? What knowledge or expertise does she have to shed light on this matter? Or is it just a big waste of time? I know which way I’m betting.
The witnesses for the minority will speak about abortion, healthcare, executive power, gun violence, and abortion rights, among other issues
Besides hitting abortion twice (heh), the most important bit is that only 2 things in that list should be in the purview of a Supreme Court Justice: executive power and abortion. And the only reason abortion should even be within the purview of the Court is because they screwed up before and stuck their … foot in it. They should extricate themselves, then never touch it again, except when they must to preserve the right to life.
This is one of those times when I wonder if Trump isn’t playing N+1-dimensional chess. Nominate a squeaky clean guy who’s just demonstrably conservative enough, and let the Dems fly their freak outrage flags for a month before the mid-terms. Then make that point in every damn rally between now and November.
I still worry a little that Kavanaugh will “evolve” while sitting on the bench.
But it’s not the worst possible nomination that Trump could have made. (He *could* have picked someone from his reality show; ’cause they’ve all been such winners so far………..)
They had to go dick up a Nixon relic!
DIG! “Dig up a Nixon relic!” Honest, that’s what I meant to say!
No dick up is correct that’s all Nixon’s terms were also most of the administration
The latest stall is a CORY BOOKER special. He last night released CONFIDENTIAL RECORDS and he said he will accept the whatever punish the committee gives. They can finally get rid of him if they are smart. He is doing anything for attention to stall the hearings. He should be removed from the committee and he says he will accept. He is the perfect person to start his campaign for 2020 right now. Please get rid of him. He thinks he doesn’t have to accept anything cause he is only man of color who was gifted once to serve in Washington. The DEVIL is speaking every time he opens his mouth. Please get rid of him for us all.
I guess you did not like my comment since you did not post it.
