An article by the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FAIR) – an organization with which I generally agree and which is dedicated to free speech – detailed why it would be wrong to fire Randa Jarrar – a professor at Fresno State, who decided to garner herself some attention by denigrating former First Lady Barbara Bush not more than a few hours after Mrs. Bush passed away at the age of 92 from congestive heart failure. I disagree. Jarrar can and should be fired.

I don’t say this lightly, as I’m one of those libertarian leaning conservatives who passionately believes that the US constitution gives us the right to be pernicious yambags without fear of government prosecution, but Jarrar deserves to get booted out of her job – not because of WHAT she said, but because her presence now causes a disruption and reflects poorly on her employer. And as someone who believes that an employer should have the right to fire anyone for any reason, there are plenty of reasons to get rid of this heinous, Marxist landwhale.

1 – Randa Jarrar is a bad person. She’s a callous, evil, attention-seeking sow, who can’t put her political hatred aside for even a moment and who doesn’t have the human decency to acknowledge that this was someone’s beloved wife and mother, who had nothing to do with her husband’s foreign policy that she hates so much, and who dedicated her life to spreading literacy – something Jarrar should at least appreciate as an educator, but apparently can’t vomit enough bile.

This, in and of itself, is not a reason to fire someone, but what Jarrar very publicly says and does has an indelible effect on the school that employs her. That’s cause.

2 – Randa Jarrar is a conceited, self-absorbed, supercilious hemorrhoid, who thinks that by virtue having tenure (and being a loud, obnoxious, social justice zealot, as well as a “minority,” although there’s nothing minor about her morbidly obese bulk) she cannot be fired.

Au contraire, says her employer! Tenure doesn’t protect this rancid hog from the consequences of her words and actions. She certainly can be fired, and while she was on leave from the school and made the comments from her private account, she repeatedly gloated about her six-figure position at the school, her tenure there, and even tagged Fresno State in some of her abhorrent tweets as her employer. She dragged her employer into this.

Having a heartless, callous bully working on their staff and publicly bragging she cannot be fired reflects badly on the university as her employer. It’s not WHAT Jarrar said in her private account that matters; it’s the fact that her little rampage embarrassed the university – a place that relies on its reputation to attract more students. The content of her words is protected by the First Amendment. Her intentional link to her employer and repeated malicious messages that reflected poorly on the school are not.

3 – Randa Jarrar is an inconsiderate swine whose only goal is to promote her hatred, no matter how many people she harms.

In response to appalled replies to her tweets, Jarrar tweeted out a telephone number she claimed was her own, but which actually belonged to a mental health crisis hotline. That’s right – she directed her detractors to flood a mental health crisis number with calls, endangering the welfare and maybe the lives of people who truly needed help. Sorry, but that’s not protected by the First Amendment.

Now shes posting mental health hotlines and creating a massive potential calling issue for a service some may really need. This is horrible. @randajarrar needs help @Fresno_State she is now potentially hurting services students needs pic.twitter.com/7YzJNlf8A2

She knew publishing the hotline number as her own would flood it with angry calls. She didn’t care. She thought she was being smart.

Again, this is not about the content of Jarrar the Hutt’s speech, which absolutely is protected by the First Amendment, but rather about her embarrassing her employer and hiding behind the university to shield herself from the consequences of her actions.

It will reflect badly on the university, which apparently pays Jarrar a six-figure salary, and despite any differences students and their families have with the Bush family, I’m pretty sure the vast majority would find her words reprehensible. I certainly wouldn’t send my kids to a school that would retain such an odious human being – a person who actively wishes ill on a family that lost a beloved wife and mother.

And THAT is where the university would be justified in firing Jarrar.

Remember when the actions of a certain adjunct during social justice zealot protests at Mizzou caused a marked drop in enrollment and huge losses for the university? Melissa Click was subsequently shown the door, and the university still hasn’t recovered!

Jarrar is in a similar situation. If her actions cost the university enrollment, alumni money, and reputation, the school would be well within its right to fire her fat ass.

This is not about the content of her speech, and it’s not about the fact that she offended so many. It’s about the fact that her actions caused harm – both to people who may have been in a mental health crisis, trying to reach a professional, and to the school that employs her.

Sorry, Jabba. You can and should be shitcanned. Hard.
