Tonight the theme of the State of the Union address is ‘A Safe, Strong, and Proud America.’ Tonight, President Trump recognized some of America’s bravest and finest. He ALSO spoke proudly of our heritage, our strength, and all that we share, including our National Anthem.

We are very well aware that President Trump has not been a fan of NFL players kneeling in protest during the Anthem. Quite honestly, there are a significant number of Americans who aren’t fans, which explains why the NFL playoff games have seen a significant ratings dump this year.

This evening, President Trump talked about the greatness of this Republic and our Flag.

Tonight, I want to talk about what kind of future we are going to have, and what kind of Nation we are going to be.  All of us, together, as one team, one people, and one American family.

We all share the same home, the same heart, the same destiny, and the same great American flag.

Together, we are rediscovering the American way.

In America, we know that faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, are the center of the American life.  Our motto is “in God we trust.”

President Trump went on to highlight an exceptional young man named Preston Sharp. A 12-year old who spear-headed a movement to place a flag on every veterans grave. In fact, due to Preston’s work, 40,000 flags are placed on the graves of our Veterans.

Young patriots like Preston teach all of us about our civic duty as Americans.  Preston’s reverence for those who have served our Nation reminds us why we salute our flag, why we put our hands on our hearts for the pledge of allegiance, and why we proudly stand for the national anthem.

I couldn’t agree more. Yet, unfortunately, the sour puss Democrats sporting all black and African garb just couldn’t get out of their own way because virtue signaling!

Instead, they sat on their hands and scowled mightily.

Why yes, yes it was.

Yes, this Republic has flaws. Yet the freedoms of speech and liberties we are granted because of our Constitution are precious. It is evident that President Trump recognizes that. It is also very evident that the Democrats, yes I’m looking at you Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, believe that government by a few, rules over the freedoms our Founding Fathers and my ancestors fought so hard to attain.

Tonight President Trump spoke of the greatness of this Republic and the Americans who have done much to uphold and defend the promise of Freedom that our Flag, our Constitution and National Anthem symbolize. Thank you sir. Well done.
