I miss Megyn Kelly at Fox News.
With those words I know I’ll be dodging virtual rocks and spitballs from the Megyn haters. But, yes, initially I was dismayed about her decision to interview Alex Jones. After all, I consider Jones to be one of the most execrable voices on the airwaves. His stock-in-trade is pushing unsubstantiated conspiracy theories to an echo chamber on his radio program and his website InfoWars.
However, Jones sunk to new depths after the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting, claiming that the children and adults who were killed there were part of a hoax. Parents of the murdered children are understandably outraged that Kelly would give him a national platform. As a result, they’ve dropped her as host of an event to benefit the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation.
On top of that, JPMorgan Chase has dropped their ads from NBC until after the interview airs this Sunday. Ho hum. Another major corporation turning tail and running from controversy. What else is new?
So why should anyone give any credence to this nut job, I wondered. But then I saw a teaser for the interview and I started to see things differently. This, of course, is only a clip, but Jones is hardly given a pass from Kelly. It reminds me once again of one reason why talk show hosts always screen their calls and guests.

Now guess who else wants to keep the show from airing? It’s none other than Alex Jones. Why — because he might looked unhinged or something? Bwahahaha!

Additionally, Fox News media analyst Howie Kurtz made this comment:
“Journalists have always interviewed criminals and outcasts—from Saddam Hussein to Bashar al-Assad, from Charles Manson to O.J. Simpson, from racists to child molesters—as a way of telling a larger story. The key is whether these infamous characters are aggressively confronted or passively given ink and airtime.”
He’s correct, you know. As the saying goes, sunlight is the best disinfectant. Jones’s fanboys will continue to slavishly follow his crazy train conspiracy theories, of course. But an in-your-face interview will expose Jones as he really is — a sham and a huckster. Moreover, I sincerely hope that President Trump will revoke the press credentials of InfoWars, although I’m not optimistic. Ah, but a girl can always dream, right?
I wasn’t planning to watch Kelly’s interview with Alex Jones, but I think I will. It might be entertaining to watch this cockroach wither under humiliating questions.

I’m very torn over all this.. first off, Alex Jones is a nutjob, there’s no question about that, and as you and others have pointed out, journalists have always met with, exposed, and torn apart the nutjobs of the world.. that being said, I’m not a fan of Megyn at all, mostly because she’d WANT to be involved with sandy hook promise… while it’s ridiculous to believe that that tragedy was a hoax, it’s also ridiculous to support the delusional position of the promise group that it’s the guns fault. While one can’t help but feel for those that lost a loved one, sane and rational people can and should disagree with their push for gun control on the back of those that died! Lets not forget, this all happened in a so called “gun free zone”… a stupid concept that in this and many other situations has led to the death of many innocents!

GWB says: I always check the links on Drudge before clicking. I refuse to click on anything that goes to the NYT, the PuffingtonHost, or… InfoWars. With the caveat that Infowars is a not-stopped but very erratic clock, so it’s sometimes right twice a day once a month.
I agree with you, Kim, that Megyn should do interviews like this. But with the politicization of everything, Jones is a deplorable because he says mean things about the gov’t and doesn’t like gun control (or any other kind of control). And even hostile association with him is a prog no-no. (Remember that SJW that fell in love with a conservative and was shunned from her social circles?)
Kim Quade says: He registered with me as a kook long before Trump and the Deplorables arrived on the scene. I remember being at a tea party event in 2010 and seeing an old woman sporting a t-shirt with “9/11 Was an Inside Job — InfoWars” on it. With “friends” like that, etc. etc.

I, like others, don’t agree with everything AJ says/reports but once in awhile he nails it. Undoubtedly the matters of those stories were ones which citizen Trump saw and agreed and got his name tied to him somehow. Now Megyn and NBC roll out one of the most crazy and hurtful/deplorable things AJ says and wa-la major mud is slung on now Pres. Trump. NBC will air it. They won’t back down and they are doing it for TPTB and MSM and the Establishment’s goal of making sure Pres. Trump is at most a one term president.
