It was just another Monday in the Trump campaign. Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager with a chip on his shoulder, ran the 8:30 am campaign conference call as usual. Less than an hour later, Lewandowski was being shown the door.
“The Donald J. Trump Campaign for President, which has set a historic record in the Republican primary having received almost 14 million votes, has today announced that Corey Lewandowski will no longer be working with the campaign,” the campaign spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, said in a statement. “The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future.”
Two people briefed on the move, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that Mr. Lewandowski was fired.
The campaign manager was seen as having a hostile relationship with many members of the national press corps who cover Mr. Trump, and many officials at the Republican National Committee had strained relationships with him.
And Mr. Lewandowski was often at odds with Mr. Trump’s chief strategist, Paul Manafort, who was brought on in March when the candidate seemed poised for a lengthy fight over delegates.
While Lewandowski had butted heads with Manafort, and had the misdemeanor battery grabbing incident with reporter Michelle Fields, nothing seemed to shake Trump’s reliance on him. Until today. So, what happened?
I'm told the person who convinced Trump to fire Corey is Ivanka – who met with her dad and said get rid of him or she can no longer help

Was Ivanka the final say? …

Apparently, Lewandowski had not learned the first rule: Never take sides against the family.
Hearing that Lewandowski had trying to plant negative stories about Jared Kushner in recent weeks in attempt to sideline Trump's son-in-law

For those who don’t know, Jared Kushner is Ivanka Trump’s husband.
Hearing Lewandowski was escorted out by Trump security this morning. His firing was result of coup by Trump children, campaign source said.

"Coup by Trump children." Think of how much cooler this would sound if their last name was Corleone. https://t.co/qSmeEibp1E

But lest you think that Lewandowski is just going to fade away quietly… he’s also a delegate to the Republican convention from the state of New Hampshire. And Team Trump can’t fire him from that.
According to NHGOP rules, Trump campaign cannot remove Corey as NH delegation chair to the convention. Can replace him only if he resigns.

Could Lewandowski still make trouble at the convention? It seems unlikely, as he is now toxic without the blessing of Trump.
Weird, I'm not getting my daily Twitter dose of affirmations of Lewandowski's irreproachability & perfection & Mr. Trump's loyalty today.

However, it looks like we’ve found the one woman who Donald Trump will listen to, and that’s Ivanka. And with her intervention, we are all better off.
