Democrats Want Palestinian Refugees In The United States

Among a multitude of bad ideas born out of performative altruism, this is one of the worst. Sixty-nine Congressional Democrats have sent a letter to the Biden administration asking that the United States admit Palestinian refugees from Gaza.

This idea had been floated previously by the administration almost two months ago, with the idea being that only people “who have immediate family members who are American citizens or permanent residents” would be eligible for refugee status. Raise your hand if you’ve heard THAT one before. Considering this administration’s track record on Afghan refugees and the current state of our southern border – and the horrific crimes that are happening by illegal aliens within the United States who have been caught and processed by this administrationshould anyone be confident in the strict veracity of yet another refugee program?

Republicans told the Biden administration “NO” at the time, focusing in on two facts – that none of the countries surrounding Gaza (Egypt and Jordan, for instance) were willing to take in refugees from Gaza, and that there was no way that the administration could guarantee that zero bad actors would come to the United States through this program.

What are Democrats saying now? DO EET. What could possibly go wrong???

On Thursday, Congressional Democrats sent a bicameral letter to the Biden administration requesting that Palestinian refugees be admitted into the United States.

They urged Secretary Blinken and Secretary Mayorkas to make a Priority-2 designation under the US Refugee Admission Program (USRAP) for certain Palestinians, which would “open pathways” for them to come to the United States. This would apply to Palestinians with relatives who are either US citizens or lawful permanent residents, meaning non-US citizens, according to the letter.

The letter was spearheaded by Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Rep. Jayapal (D-WA), Rep. Greg Casar (D-TX), Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), and was signed by a total of 69 Congressional Democrats in both the House and Senate.

Ah yes, we should not be surprised to see Pramila Jayapal on this list, she who calls reporting on crimes by illegal aliens “fearmongering” and laughs at a reference to a 13 year old being raped.

But here she is, along with the usual suspects – AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Cory Booker, Senator Chris Murphy, Bernie Sanders, Summer Lee, Mazie Hirono, Patty Murray, Elizabeth Warren, Ilhan Omar, Katie Porter, Ayanna Pressley, Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, Jamie Raskin, Sheila Jackson Lee, among others who are all good little progressives and many who are outright anti-Semites and are unashamedly pro-Hamas, even as Hamas holds AMERICAN CITIZENS HOSTAGE – all signing a letter asking Secretary of State Blinken and Secretary of Homeland Security Mayorkas to let Gazan refugees into the United States.

We write to strongly support a Priority-2 (P-2) designation under the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) for certain Palestinians.

In the eight months since the horrific October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas and the commencement of Israel’s military response, conditions in the Palestinian territories have greatly deteriorated.

Hmmm, I wonder whose fault it is that Palestinians have it hard in the Gaza Strip right now. I know what these Democrats would say – that it’s Israel’s fault for “responding” after 1200 people were brutally murdered and hostages were taken, not Hamas’s fault for, you know, brutalizing and murdering and raping and kidnapping.

Since the outbreak of the conflict in Gaza, many congressional offices have received distressing requests for assistance from constituents desperately seeking to reunite with their loved ones. We appreciate the steps that the Biden Administration has taken to evacuate American citizens from Gaza. However, without pathways for Americans to petition for their relatives in Gaza, countless families with strong ties to our nation remain stranded in life-threatening conditions.

We urge you to consider opening pathways to Palestinian refugees, particularly those with family members in the United States, to seek relief in the United States. Historically, the U.S. has resettled very few Palestinian refugees, including only 56 refugees, or 0.09 percent of the total number of resettled refugees, in fiscal year 2023 and only 16 so far in fiscal year 2024.

Given the dire conditions currently on the ground in Gaza, it is time for this to change. Specifically, we urge you to designate certain categories of Palestinians and their eligible family members, particularly close relatives of American citizens and U.S. lawful permanent residents, for access to the USRAP.

We’re not talking about stranded American citizens who are unable to get out of Gaza (say, like in Afghanistan or those stranded in Israel at the beginning of the war). Nope, these are people who are either related or connected to an American citizen or (notice the wording here) “lawful permanent residents.” Can we get clarification on what that means, please? That definition of who is “lawful” or “permanent” under this administration is a little bit fuzzy.

The letter then tries to appeal to a process which has failed already.

The USRAP has long provided a secure pathway to resettle refugees in the United States, with the most rigorous vetting of any traveler coming to the U.S. All individuals who are considered for refugee status in the U.S. must not only demonstrate their eligibility, but also complete a USCIS interview, provide biometric data, and pass both medical exams and strict security screening prior to approval to come to the United States.

Moreover, national security and foreign policy experts have long viewed the refugee program as a valuable tool for the United States to decompress conflicts abroad, strengthen regional stability, and set an example for other countries.

We believe the time has come for the United States to lead in this manner and grant a P-2 designation for refugee processing for certain Palestinians who are relatives of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents and are affected by the ongoing violence.

Does anyone else remember how this administration insisted on simply shoving Afghans into planes and then taking off with them, not knowing who they were? Well, that was an emergency, Democrats will likely claim. But they can’t guarantee that this program will vet people as rigorously as this letter claims. Not when the Biden administration is trying to win votes in Michigan, and would dearly love a photo op of Joe Biden sniffing cute little refugee kids from Gaza that already support Hamas. I mean, they’ll fit right in on college campuses.

The frightening thing is, the Biden administration already agrees with these 69 Democrats, and they are probably actively trying to find a way to make a refugee program a reality. So, what happens now? If one of these 69 Democrats is YOUR senator or representative, it’s time to make phone calls and write emails and letters. Tell them that if they are so all-fired anxious to welcome Gazan refugees into the United States, then THEY take in a family into their own homes FIRST. Signing this letter should be nothing short of volunteering to support and be responsible for a refugee family financially and legally. After all, that’s what they’re trying to sign US, the American taxpayer, up for. YOU FIRST, GUYS. I’m guessing THAT vetting will be VERY strict and TOTALLY by-the-book. I mean, what could possibly go wrong???

    The letter I sent:

    Senator,

You signed a letter recently to Secretaries Blinken and Mayorkas calling for Palestinians to be granted refugee status and to be brought to this country. This is a horrible idea despite its good intentions.

The current Administration has shown no interest in thoroughly vetting refugees as evidenced by the criminals from Afghanistan being brought to our shores after the military withdrawal. We have no faith that our government will exercise due diligence in bringing over another wave of refugees.

There are Muslim majority nations in the immediate area whose values and belief system are closer in line to theirs and relocating them there would be easier and less expensive.

Finally the letter discusses the conditions for the Palestinians have deteriorated since the unjustified attack against citizens of several nations. Frankly, this is a self-inflicted wound. To date, Hamas refuses to return the hostages, several of whom are Americans. If the hostages were returned and Hamas removed as a governing body, the conditions would improve.

No refugees need to be brought here. Please focus on the Americans illegally being held by Hamas instead of bringing in large masses of people that will not be screened.

I have a wild idea. Instead of bringing over Hamas acolytes to sew discord in our country, maybe we should send back the Somalis who are already here. We could start with Somalis who engaged in student loan or immigration fraud and go from there.

It’s clear from western Europe’s experience that Muslim immigrants either can’t or won’t assimilate. Instead, they view the US as an ATM that will give them free shit until they are able to impose Sharia law.

It’s not clear to me why the Democrats want to commit national suicide, but at some point, normal people need to say “no thanks” and close our borders to anyone who brings more needs than assets to our border.

“We could start with Somalis who engaged in student loan or immigration fraud and go from there.”.. You mean like Ilhan Omar???

“It’s not clear to me why the Democrats want to commit national suicide, “.. No?? It’s because they’re delusional enough to think it will give them the opportunity to completely seize power, and rule over the ruins of this once great nation.. They give not a single shit for what we were founded on, or what we became, only for the power they can gain and wield..
