The Pulse Nightclub tragedy was just that. A horrific tragedy. It was not a hate crime. Yet that insidious narrative has persisted. So much so that Grandpa Joe Biden will be declaring the nightclub a national monument!
President Joe Biden is honoring the 49 victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando by making the establishment a national memorial five years later.
After the House and Senate unanimously passed legislation to designate the establishment a national memorial, President Biden said in a statement on Saturday, the fifth anniversary of the shooting, that he will sign the bill, “enshrining in law what has been true since that terrible day five years ago: Pulse Nightclub is hallowed ground.”
What happened at the Pulse nightclub was absolutely tragic. Families are still in mourning. HOWEVER, what happened there was NOT a hate crime. The nightclub nor anyone in it that evening were targets. The shooter may not have liked the LGBTQ community, but he wasn’t targeting anyone from that group. Nope, his hatred was reserved for this country and his adoration of ISIS.
NBC News, of all places, even told the world that the shooter didn’t specifically target the Pulse Nightclub. Nope, it was a simple Google search that led him there.
On the night of June 11, 2016, Omar Mateen googled and visited Disney Springs, a popular Orlando outdoor shopping and recreation area. Then, just after midnight, he googled “Disney World,” and his cellphone placed him near towers around Epcot, another Disney-owned theme park, according to The Orlando Sentinel. But it wasn’t until he was near Epcot that Mateen googled “downtown Orlando nightclubs,” which delivered Eve Orlando and Pulse as top results. Mateen then drove to Eve, where he stayed for six minutes before driving away. Eve Orlando, in a busy downtown nightclub district, is in an area with heavy police presence, Swift said.
After 1 a.m. on June 12, the night of the attack, Mateen performed one final Google search for “downtown Orlando nightclubs” and began to drive to Pulse. He hesitated, turned back toward Eve, then turned around again and headed back to Pulse. “Finally, around 2 a.m., Mateen fired the first shots in the Pulse nightclub,” a motion filed by the defense read. There was no cellular evidence that he had ever been there before that night.
Yet now, the nightclub will become a national monument…to a lie.
The media and politicians are all in on pushing the lie that the shooter specifically targeted the Pulse nightclub because he hated anyone and everyone in the LGBTQ community. What they also want us to forget is that not only had the FBI missed or dismissed information as they’ve done numerous times, the shooter’s father was an FBI informant.
Therefore, this push to turn the club into a national monument is a complete and utter disservice to all the victims from that night. Yet, with the Biden Administration deciding the nightclub needs to be a national monument, the lie will persist and the victims will be dishonored.
Glenn Greenwald, a major liberal, isn’t a fan of this designation and I don’t blame him.
This tweet is an absolute lie. Every journalist who covered the PULSE shootings and trial will tell you this. It's infuriating to watch Senators blatantly lie this way. https://t.co/tYxqNEU8pZ

Glenn, I have a nit to pick. The journalists who are engaged in genuine reporting with facts not opinion, hello AP NEWS and your unearned Pulitzers!, will have issues with this. The sad fact is, those journalists are few and far between.
Quite honestly, the Biden Administration doesn’t care about anything to do with the LGBTQ agenda UNLESS the narrative gets them dollars and votes.
Those who perished that night at the Pulse nightclub do need to be remembered and honored. This purely political pandering monument is not the way.

And the crowds stampede to get in! Wait til you see the gift shop with its array of souvenirs!
Senator Duckworth, thank you for your service and your sacrifice.
You are a pandering leftist fool, and offer nothing positive to the nation!
Techno-legally, this is, yes, not a “hate crime” (which is defined, in practice, as “any crime committed against a member of a protected class, irrespective of motivation” – “protected class,” of course, excludes light-skinned heterosexual male Judaeo-Christians).
While it does not fit the techno-legal definition of “hate crime” – it was indeed a crime of hatred. (That his lawyer is simply trying to get him out of the ridiculous enhancement of punishment for such is the travesty here. Premeditated homicide is premeditated homicide, for which he should be removed from this Earth permanently.)
And let’s not forget that Juneteenth is now a federal holiday.
Stick a fork in America. It’s all over.
