A few days ago, Planned Parenthood sued the state of Texas for designating killing the unborn-(cough)-abortion as a non-essential medical procedure during our nation’s COVID-19 pandemic.
Ironic the above comes from an organization called “Human Rights Watch”, don’t you think? Righty-oh. Got ya. A fetus is not human, it’s a clump of cells. A hinderance, a nuisance, an inconvenience to the pro-abort crowd. Which is why, our pinnacle of journalists, our best of the best editorial board at The New York Times has an opinion on this:
The ‘nonessential’ bit is obvious nonsense and the delay a transparent attempt to put abortion out of reach for those who need it.
In the coming weeks, unintended pregnancies could rise as a result of people being stuck in their homes, potentially without consistent access to birth control. Among those who would choose to have an abortion — there were about 860,000 abortions in America in 2017 — an increasing number might not be able to get those services, either because of the dangers of traveling (for patients and abortion providers alike), a growing inability to afford the procedure or the need to take care of homebound children and other family members.-The New York Times Editorial Board
But is killing an unborn fetus the answer?
“While doctors and nurses in Texas work around the clock to care for patients suffering from COVID-19, Governor Abbott is interfering with the personal medical decisions of Texans by using this pandemic to advance his political, anti-abortion agenda”-Center For Reproductive Rights
We’ve heard it all before. To never let a good crisis go to waste.
It has become shamefully clear that not even a global pandemic will stop the Trump administration or Republican Congressional leaders from attacking access to reproductive care.” Alexis McGill Johnson, acting president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund
Shameful. They love this word as of late. Once again, please tell us how killing is a child is reproductive care, Alexis? Yamani Hernandez of reproductive rights group, All* Above All, says it is “immoral” to use a global pandemic to turn people who need abortions into pawns for cheap political points”. Kelsey Ryland, director of federal strategies for All* Above All, called Trump’s decision to delay approval of the coronavirus funding package an “unconscionable, shameful low.”
Is it just me, or does anyone else find irony in the name of this organization? All* Above All. They are defending “reproductive rights” for women but not the barbaric practice of snuffling out and killing children? They are using the global pandemic to turn the voiceless unborn into pawns for cheap political points. And now, organizations like Planned Parenthood are angry because the stimulus did not include their medical facilities in the funding package. Why? Because abortions are NOT essential at this time (or ever). Ventilators are essential. Hospital beds are essential. Medical staff are essential in the fight to end this pandemic-for the young, middle-aged and elderly-not to kill babies because a woman is just not “feeling” her pregnancy on a particular day.
We’ve all seen the meme that calls children born nine months from now, the “Coronials”. It is true that more pregnancies may result from individuals being housebound. Most of these individuals, I am willing to guess, are family units. Some of these individuals are already taking steps to not end up pregnant and are exercising their reproductive rights without turning to abortion as a viable “health care” alternative. Admittedly, there is not much of an opportunity for young, irresponsible twits at present time to go out to a bar and have a one night stand with a loser and right this “wrong” with a trip to Planned Parenthood weeks later. Side note: we may get a few “woe is me” types who were hanging out on a beach in Florida yelling “YOLO” last week. That story is yet to unfold.
Don’t even think for a skinny minute that Planned Parenthood isn’t quivering in their baby-killing boots at the “what ifs” of this situation. What if perspectives changed? What if people were forced to be more sexually responsible during this time? What if, in this pandemic, those who are looking at other alternatives to “birth control” (besides running out and getting an abortion) realized that they DO have the power to exercise their reproductive rights without killing a baby? What if, after seeing loved ones get sick and God forbid, pass due to this pandemic, some individuals gained a greater appreciation of this thing called life-realizing a heartbeat is a a heartbeat-whether it’s one minute old in utero or it has lived through 92 years on this earth?
Abortion is not the priority right now. COVID-19 is. COVID-19 is currently having more impact on the socio-economic spectrum presently but the pro-abortion crowd does not see it this way. Planned Parenthood isn’t pissed because they can’t stay open to prescribe birth control pills, those visits are not their cash cow. Newsflash-even though it’s been argued that an abortion is safer than a root canal, even dental offices are currently closed! Planned Parenthood in the business of killing and right now, the name of the game for all is LIFE. Let’s hope in this crisis, death loses its grip.
