9/11 Tribute Is Dangerous To Our Health Says NYC

According to our betters in the NYC government, the 9/11 Tribute in Lights is dangerous to our health. Thus that annual tribute along with the reading of the names of those who were killed by terrorists on that horrible day has been canceled.

“New York City’s annual light installation in honor of the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks has been canceled to help control the spread of the new coronavirus, organizers said Thursday.

The two beams of vertical light have traditionally been set up in lower Manhattan in the days leading up to the anniversary of the attacks on the Twin Towers. But officials at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum said Thursday that they wouldn’t have the installation this year out of fear that the virus could spread among the workers needed to create the display.”

The irony of New York City government worrying about the health of forty stage hands is mind-boggling. Why?

Oh I don’t know. Perhaps it’s because of the weeks worth of protests and riots that have caused damage across a significant portion of the city. So much damage in areas such as mid-town Manhattan, that many businesses are planning to pack up and leave the state. For example, national chains such as Kate Spade and restaurants like Bryant Park Grill & Cafe will never reopen. The reasons are two-fold, the virus and the protests.

But sure! Let’s have the NYC administration get all super concerned about the health of the stage hands who put the 9/11 Light Tribute together. Let’s be very worried about the health of those who had been planning to SAY THEIR NAMES on 9/11.

“As the pandemic continues to surge throughout the country, it was necessary to consider the health and safety of the nearly 40 stagehands who work in close proximity to produce Tribute in Light. For multiple weeks in August and September, crew members work hours-long shifts at Battery Parking Garage to prepare for the production on the night of September 11.The facilities and the complex installation which requires stagehands to work closely together do not align with recommended COVID-19 health and safety precautions.”

The double standard is just astounding here.

It’s wonderfully ok for DeBlasio to show up with a big group and slather a Black Lives Matter logo onto the street in front of the Trump Tower.

Protests and riots? No problem! Have at it with your smash and grab destructive form of protest! It’s all good! Oh, concerns about your health? You are PROTESTING BIG THINGS so health concerns aren’t on our radar.

But nooo…an annual tribute and REMEMBRANCE of those who were killed by terrorists is a major Wuhan Flu Corona health risk these days.

Understandably there are a great many who are not amused by this decision. In fact, like myself, people are both astounded and outraged.

The city of New York is oh-so-worried about public health that they’ve decided to cancel a memorial and tribute to one of THE most life-altering events this country has ever experienced. Yet protests are fine. Vandalism and destruction are ignored. Meanwhile there’s essentially ZERO concern for the health of those who work in the grocery stores, Costco, the hospitals, and more.

That double standard is breathtaking!

The thing is, it seems that NYC hasn’t even TRIED to figure out a work around for this. Adapt and Overcome is not in the NYC administration’s vocabulary. That has become glaringly apparent over the last seven months.

HOWEVER, there are many others who are willing to have this tribute take place as planned. If our First Responders can run INTO danger on that day and every day, then we most certainly can pull up our big boy and girl panties and do the same.

Several have offered to drive to NYC and help put the tribute together. Heck, as Geraldo says, put them all in hazmat suits!

Tunnel To Towers Foundation is working on getting enough people in place to SAY THEIR NAMES.

NYPD’s Sergeant’s Benevolent Association is now hard at work arranging their own Tribute in Light.

“The mayor may have a short and selective memory, but the members of the NYPD will NEVER FORGET the sacrifice of every person who lost their life that fateful day.”

The 9/11 Tribute in Light and the Reading of Names is to honor the innocent who were killed by terrorists and those who ran into the burning buildings to save as many as they could. The Tribute and Reading is one of Resilience, Courage, Honor, Resolve, and Remembrance.

9/11 will not and will NEVER be forgotten by me nor by many I know. The courage and sacrifice of so many that day continues to inspire.

9/11 may be different this year because of a few cowards, but for the rest of us… WE REMEMBER. WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

“The facilities and the complex installation which requires stagehands to work closely together do not align with recommended COVID-19 health and safety precautions.”

That’s not just a lie, it’s a particularly bad lie.

The installation is on top of a parking garage.

It’s 88 large (120 kilogram) lights, along with a number of generators to power them.

They’re claiming that it takes almost an hour for a FORTY MAN CREW to set up one light.

It should take about an hour for a _four_ man crew to set one honkin’ big light, and that includes running out the power from the power distribution setup. The only time they should be in close proximity is when they take the lights out of their shipping cases.

Considering that the entire staging industry is shut down right now, there’s certainly a long list of stagehands and lighting techs who would be proud to do this show.

The biggest problem is that the company that makes and rest the lights they’re using is from Italy. They send over their own guys to supervise, at a minimum. They probably can’t get them into the US right now.

What probably happened is that someone blew the whole thing off, and by the time everyone realized it hadn’t been done, it was too late to use that vendor.

Wow. Thank you for that information! Sheds an interesting light on the reasons that are being peddled!

Beginning to sense a trend here. Anything that has even the smallest scintilla of patriotism is canceled, condemned, demonized or protested. And, conversely, protesting, rioting and looting is being pawned off as a legitimate exercise of democracy. With the help of the media democrat leaders have made an art form of making peaceful lawful assembly criminal while hiding the real criminals in plain sight.

I, and am sure many of us in Australia will never ever forget such a despicable event. Those horrific scenes will never leave our mind. Condolences to the families.

Is there ANYONE that actually believes that democrats are not trying to destroy this country, and are therefore part of the “all enemies, foreign and domestic” that many of us swore an oath to defend against?
