We’ve written about Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) before. Most notably was the time during the Kavanaugh hearings when she told all men to SHUT UP. Well, she’s now stepped in it again. You see, Democrats can’t connect with all of us average voters because all Democrats are so much smarter than the rest of us.
Wait wut? Let’s go to the transcript shall we?
“One of the things that we Democrats have a really hard time is connecting to people’s hearts instead of here [points at brain],” Hirono began. “We’re really good at shoving out all the information that touch people here [points to brain] but not here [points to heart].”
“I’ve been saying it all our Senate Democratic retreats we need to speak to the heart, not in a manipulative way, not in a way that brings forth everybody’s fears and resentments, but truly to speak to the hearts so that people know that we’re actually on their side.”
“When you have a really hard time doing that and one of the reasons that was shown to me at one of our retreats was that we Democrats know so much, that is true,” Hirono continued. “We have to kind of tell everyone how smart we are and so we have a tendency to be very left-brain.”
Wow. That’s ….something.
So let me get this straight. Democrats don’t want to manipulate our fears and resentments because they are on our side? Telling men to SHUT UP during the Kavanaugh hearings means you’re smart and we aren’t? Huh. That’s a new one.
The Democrats are so smart that they went with totally unfounded accusations against a good and honorable man because of their virulent hatred of Trump. But sure! Tell us again that you Democrats are so much smarter than us.
Examples of Democrat smarts are:
The Iran Deal will save us all!
Obamacare won’t cost us anything and we can keep our doctors.
Climate Change will kill us all!
Raising taxes always makes everything better!
It’s all Trump’s fault (as well as us Deplorables) that Hillary lost!
The Constitution? Just a piece of paper with old-fashioned fancy words.
But sure! Tell us again how smart you are! Of course there are those who buy this hook, line, and sinker.

What Kristine doesn’t realize is that Hirono was telling her that she isn’t smart. But that bit of info went sailing right over Kristine’s head.

It’s quite evident that Hirono and her fellow Democrats have incredibly low expectations of their base going into 2020. It seems they truly believe that Hillary was right. We are all Deplorables in their eyes and only THEY know how to run this country. They’d run it right into the ditch if we’d let them.
I think President Reagan said all that needs to be said about this. “It’s not that Democrats are liars, it’s just that they know so much that isn’t true.”
Yep. Liberal elitism on full display here.

Senator Mazie Hirono at least had the smarts to inform us that the Democrats think we are all dumb. So there’s that.

George V says: Have you ever encountered a child or maybe middle-schooler who really and truly believed they excelled at something when in fact they had no clue what they were doing and completely lacked self-awareness of their true capabilities and skills? Maybe an athletic skill, or math, or singing, or playing a musical instrument would be good examples.
That’s what this statement by the senator reminds me of – a clueless child who thinks they are the smartest in the class at math or basketball but can’t add past 2+2 without a calculator or sink a basket without everyone else on the court freezing in place. Or maybe, just maybe she is the William Hung of politics – (search on his name and “American Idol” if you have not heard of him.)

That’s the ultimate in virtue signaling. Combined with egregious humble-bragging.

Blaine says: Senator Hirono is a living example of the Dunning-Kruger Effect. From that perspective, her various public utterances make perfect sense.
