Whoopi Goldberg caused a lot of jaws to drop, including those of her co-hosts, during a View segment yesterday. According to her, the Holocaust was definitely NOT about race.
To recap in case our readers didn’t want to watch, here’s what Whoopi claimed.
I do have to commend the other ladies on The View. They did attempt to push back and correct her assertion.

They are absolutely correct. Hitler wanted a “Master Race.” He and all his evil Nazi followers decided that the Jews, and many others (including blacks, Gypsies, homosexuals, those with Down syndrome) were subhuman and must be destroyed. That is racism at its utmost evil.
Sara Haines pointed out that the Nazis didn’t see Jewish people as white.
“But you’re missing the point!” Goldberg said. “The minute you turn it into race, it goes down this alley. Let’s talk about it for what it is. It’s how people treat each other. It’s a problem.”
No, Whoopi. NONE of us are missing the point. The Nazis absolutely considered the Jews as dirty and therefore must be destroyed.
It doesn’t matter the color of one’s skin, if a group of people is discriminated against because of their looks, their skin color, their religion, that is racism. Period.
Yet here is Whoopi telling the world that since it was just two groups of white people, the Holocaust was never about race. I mean, according to her, since you couldn’t tell who was Jewish, there was no racism to see there!
She said that AFTER she tweeted her pseudo apology.
“On Today’s show, I said the Holocaust ‘is not about race, but about man’s inhumanity to man.’ I should have said it is about both,” Goldberg wrote.
“As Jonathan Greenblatt from the Anti-Defamation League shared, ‘The Holocaust was about the Nazi’s systematic annihilation of the Jewish people — who they deemed to be an inferior race.’ I stand corrected.
“The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never waiver. I’m sorry for the hurt I have caused,” she said, signing off with “sincerest apologies.”
Therefore since Whoopi apologized via Tweet, it’s all good now…right? Umm, you would be wrong. Super wrong. Turns out, she went on the Stephen Colbert show last night. I would suppose it was an attempt to salvage her reputation. But instead, she dug a MUCH deeper hole.
Oh, ok. So, it’s only racism if someone does it against someone who is a different color?
Colbert explained, “What I’ve read about how the Nazis operated, when they found out that you were of the Jewish race, that’s why they’d make you wear a star, so they could see.”
“So they could identify you. But my point is, they had to do the work,” Goldberg responded. “If the Klan is coming down the street, and I’m standing with a Jewish friend, and neither one—well, I’m going to run—but if my friend decides not to run, they’ll get passed by most times, because you can’t tell who’s Jewish. It’s not something that people say, ‘Oh, that person is Jewish,’ or, ‘This person is Jewish.’

“Well, see, this is what’s interesting to me, because the Nazis lied,” Goldberg answered. “They had issues with ethnicity, not with race, because most of the Nazis were white people and most of the people they were attacking were white people, so to me, I’m thinking, How can you say it’s about race if you are fighting each other? So it all really began because I said, ‘How will we explain to children what happened in Nazi Germany?’ I said, ‘This wasn’t racial, this was about white on white,’ And everybody said, ‘No, no, no, it was racial,’ and so that’s what this all came from.”
Finally, Goldberg said, “So once again, don’t write me anymore, I know how you feel. I already know, I get it, and I’m going to take your word for it and never bring it up again.”
So, the Holocaust was an ETHNIC thing? Never mind that Hitler did everything he could to make his Master Race happen. Never mind the fact that Hitler’s so-called Master Race was absolutely about cleansing the world from Jews and other undesirables. According to Whoopi, since it took “work” to figure out which white people were Jews, that wasn’t racism. Nope, that was just an ethnic thing.
Liora Rez is absolutely correct here, Whoopi’s apology means nothing. Whoopi continues to gaslight by claiming that this was an ethnic issue. SIX MILLION PEOPLE WERE DESTROYED by Hitler because he deemed them the inferior race.

Whoopi issued a pseudo apology, and then doubled down on her remarks during the Stephen Colbert show. Now she wants everyone to quit bugging her, even as she makes it clear that she still believes the Holocaust wasn’t racism. If it were anyone else, wouldn’t that be considered Holocaust denial?

NTSOG says: I suspect this over-paid self-important actress subscribes to the new definition of racism announced in late 2020 by the Anti Defamation League:
“The marginalization and/or oppression of people of color based on socially constructed racial hierarchy that privileges white people.”
Presumably she considers those Jews and Gypsies, the mentally affected and developmentally different who were considered Untermenschen by Hitler, Himmler et al got what they deserved in the extermination camps because they were not ‘people of colour’ but white. Further, on the basis of the new definition, it is not possible for ‘white’ people to suffer racial discrimination. The NAZIs also exterminated another group of so called Untermenschen, the Slavs, by the millions but that is probably alright with her as they too were ‘white’.
In short according to the ADL only people of colour suffer racism, never Caucasians, aka as ‘whites’ and Goldberg is a fool.

Archie Demarest says: Whoopi isn’t thinking too much. There were few Black people in Germany before WWII and the end there were NONE. For Hitler it was the Aryan race the exclusion by death of others. While Jews were falsely identified as a separate race, it was enough for the Nazis.
