Gretchen Whitmer and Rashida Tlaib have identified the chief culprit responsible for the plot to kidnap the Michigan Governor. President Trump.
Today the news broke that six men had been arrested and are being federally charged with conspiracy.
“The Department of Justice today announced that six men have been arrested and charged federally with conspiring to kidnap the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer. According to a complaint filed Tuesday, October 6, 2020, Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta conspired to kidnap the Governor from her vacation home in the Western District of Michigan. Under federal law, each faces any term of years up to life in prison if convicted. Fox, Garbin, Franks, Harris, and Caserta are residents of Michigan. Croft is a resident of Delaware.”
In addition to those six, seven others were arrested as well.
“Separately, Nessel on Thursday announced state charges against seven other individuals pursuant to the state’s anti-terrorism act, “all of whom are in custody and linked to the militia group Wolverine Watchmen.”
In total, 19 state felony charges for firearms and terror-related acts were filed by Nessel against seven individuals known to be members or associates of Wolverine Watchmen.
Federal, state, and local law enforcement had been investigating all of them since early this year. A member of a militia group, that the men had approached, became so concerned that he approached law enforcement and agreed to act as a confidential informant.
As the charging document makes clear, the six with federal charges against them had moved from just talking to actually purchasing equipment, trying to make bombs, and making actual plans to kidnap Governor Whitmer.
“The plotters, according to an FBI affidavit, seemed to be motivated by their belief that state governments, including Michigan’s, were violating the Constitution. One of those involved complained in June that Whitmer (D) was controlling the opening of gyms — an apparent reference to coronavirus shutdown restrictions. But unbeknown to them, the FBI had confidential informants recording many of their discussions, according to the affidavit.”
Governor Whitmer gave a press conference that was more of a lecture. You see, Michiganders have been strong and her lockdown edicts have been so very necessary. But these men who’ve been arrested, whom the media has labeled as right-wing, have been driven to plot to kidnap Whitmer solely because of President Trump’s rhetoric.
The facts surrounding this case are very serious. And everyone should be rightfully outraged that these men thought this was an idea worth putting into action. Yet Governor Whitmer stands there and blames the President’s rhetoric. There is NOTHING in the charging documents that show these men were driven to do so by any of the President’s commentary.
Furthermore, it is now becoming quite apparent through searches that most of these men are outright anarchists who hate ALL government no matter the party.
This is a video of Brandon Caserta, one of the ringleaders of the group of men arrested for a plot where the group planned to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Caserta has an anarchist flag behind him and in YouTube videos trashes police. He’s not a Republican, he’s an anarchist. pic.twitter.com/J1vE2qGYL7

Oh but that information likely won’t matter to Governor Whitmer. Nor will it matter to Rashida Tlaib.
I wonder where they got their motivation from. https://t.co/Sqw8k80SNY pic.twitter.com/mhdSMElz5F

As Tlaib well knows, the President sent out that tweet and a series of others calling for a number of Democrat-run states to start easing or getting rid of the lockdowns all together. In fact, one could look at Rashida’s tweet and believe she is engaging in conspiracy theories …because she is. When talking about who is engaged in dangerous rhetoric about whom, Tlaib needs to take a good long look in the mirror.
And yes, one of those arrested on federal charges, is an anarchist who hates Whitmer AND President Trump.
Wow! This is big. Brandon Caserta, one of the ringleaders of the group of men arrested for a plot where the group planned to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer hated President Trump too!

Whether anyone likes Governor Whitmer or not, and I absolutely abhor her politics, those who plotted to kidnap her were completely in the wrong and deserve all the scorn they are receiving.
That said, for Gretchen Whitmer and Rashida Tlaib to decide that President Trump is complicit in this plot is dangerously irresponsible and in fact ALSO contributes to the inflammatory rhetoric we are seeing across this country.

Just fascinating what you can read on social media and websites like this one. The local Detroit papers put out the story that these clowns are right-wing Trump supporters like the ones who protested at the state capital during the early days of the lockdown. Here we have video of them with the “anarchy flag” on the wall and calling Trump the enemy as much as any Dem politician. Why, you might think they would happily shake hands and share a smoothie with Antifa goons.
When I skimmed the papers this morning (I live near Detroit) and read how these very-far-from-well-regulated “militia” members spoke I could not help but notice their desire to blow things up and tear things down and take down the government pretty much matched the objectives of the left-wing organizations. But nowhere have I heard any mainstream media, even the supposed conservative ones, note the similarity of the two groups objectives.
Again I am again reminded of a high-school teacher who said his opinion is that the left-right political spectrum is not a line but a horseshoe shape – when you look at extremists on both ends they are quite close to each other.
Yep. Mark Levin has said it’s a circle.
*Cough*
Jessie Smollet.

I feel quite confident the person most disappointed by the foiled plot in Michigan is the governor’s husband.
