Mitt Romney accused Tulsi Gabbard of treason over her concerns about the biolabs in the Ukraine. She’s having NONE of it.

Supposedly, to many on the left and Mitt Romney, one is a Russian asset if you are concerned about the safety and viability of these labs. Never mind the fact that Victoria Nuland TESTIFIED that the biolabs are of a national security concern, for Tulsi to voice her concerns about the labs as Putin continues to force his military further into Ukraine is tantamount to treason according to Mitt Romney. 

Republican Sen. Mitt Romney strongly condemned former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, seemingly responding to comments she has made in recent days about US biological laboratories in Ukraine.

“Tulsi Gabbard is parroting false Russian propaganda. Her treasonous lies may well cost lives,” Romney said in a tweet on Sunday afternoon. A representative for Romney did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment on what specifically he was referring to.

Is it Russian propaganda to voice concerns about U.S. funded labs? Only if it’s Tulsi Gabbard doing so I guess. Even as Mitt was leveling that atrocious accusation at Tulsi Gabbard, Jake Sullivan, the National Security advisor, had this to say during his Sunday appearance on CNN. 

National security adviser Jake Sullivan said Sunday that Russia accusing the U.S. and Ukraine of using chemical and biological weapons indicates that Russia may be planning to use such weapons themselves.

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sullivan explained that it is a “very legitimate concern” that Russia may use chemical weapons in Ukraine.

“They’re right now accusing the United States and Ukrainians and potentially using chemical and biological weapons which is a tell, it’s a tell that they themselves may be preparing to do so, and then trying to pin the blame on someone else,” he said.

OH. So, it’s ok for Jake Sullivan to speak to concerns about what Russia may or may not do concerning chemical weapons, but for Tulsi to be concerned about the safety of the bio labs is…treason??

You know what? EVERYONE in the whole damned WORLD should be concerned about the safety of those labs. Period. Full. Stop. 

Remember, Russia is hand in glove with China these days. Remember what China unleashed on the world just TWO YEARS AGO? That would be COVID.

Tulsi didn’t stay silent and now Mitt Romney is saying she’s a traitor while others such as asswipe Keith Olberman and the shrewish harpies at The View are labeling her as a Russian asset.

They are Russian Assets and there is a war. There's a case for detaining them militarily. Trials are a sign of good faith and patience on the part of democracy.

You know what? Many of those labs have been in existence since 2005 and are operating under the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program. And YES, the U.S. is funding portions of the work in those labs, all 46 of them. Here’s the deal folks, these labs are working to figure out how to stop disease outbreaks, such as Covid. Fabulous isn’t it? Guess what? That research CAN be turned on its head and become a weapon. It has happened before and can happen again. So there SHOULD be rightful concern as to the safety of the labs and the utmost safety of the research! 

While the World Health Organization recently advised Ukraine to destroy high-threat pathogens being housed in their labs to prevent an outbreak if they are attacked, there is no evidence that the U.S. is funding work on bio weapons.

As a matter of fact, WHO’s warning was pretty specific.

“Biosecurity experts say Russia’s movement of troops into Ukraine and bombardment of its cities have raised the risk of an escape of disease-causing pathogens, should any of those facilities be damaged,” Reuters reported. “Like many other countries, Ukraine has public health laboratories researching how to mitigate the threats of dangerous diseases affecting both animals and humans including, most recently, COVID-19. Its labs have received support from the United States, the European Union and the WHO.”

By Mitt’s standards, should we accuse Reuters of treason and of being a Russian asset as well?

Needless to say, Tulsi was having NONE of Mitt’s accusation of treason, nor anyone else’s for that matter. She fought back via Twitter.

Yet, Mitt says she’s guilty of treason while others accuse her of being a Russian asset. Is David Martin a Russian asset?

Is it truly inconceivable that Russia would decide to use a takeover of one or more biolabs as a weapon to get Ukraine, NATO, and the U.S. to back off? No. Not with Putin at the helm. 

Tulsi is a liberal for sure. Does that mean her concerns should be ignored or dismissed as treason? Absolutely not.
