In the midst of all the other news concerning hack lawyer Michael Avenatti, the explosive-ish devices sent to prominent Democrats, and the media’s caterwauling; the pending invasion of illegals has crept north. Which has led to President Trump ordering troops to the border and prepping an Executive Order to block illegals from crossing into the United States.
The White House is weighing an executive action and regulatory change to block a caravan of Central American migrants from entering the United States, according to a DHS official, an administration official and three people familiar with the move.
Under the plan, the Trump administration would publish fast-track regulation that would restrict certain migrants’ ability to seek asylum. The regulation would be paired with a related proclamation from President Donald Trump.
And, on cue, folks are throwing massive hissy fits because:
A. TRUMP ELEVENTY!!
B. They are all innocent and just want a better life (ignore the criminal behavior in their past please)
C. The CHILDREN! …some of whom AREN’T., And some who’ve been sent on this path w/o parents or any support at all
D. It takes time, lots and lots of time to verify credible applications for asylum
So yeah, one can’t just waltz across a border and say I”M OPPRESSED AND LIFE IS IN DANGER! and that country will nod, say OK! and let them in. Sorry Charlie, that’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works!
“The administration is considering a wide range of administrative, legal and legislative options to address the Democrat-created crisis of mass illegal immigration,” a White House official said. “No decisions have been made at this time. Nor will we forecast to smugglers or caravans what precise strategies will or will not be deployed.”
And I think that is absolutely wise. So, ATTENTION LEAKERS! Don’t leak from White House or DoD if you know what’s good for you. I mean seriously, Sec Def Mattis is working on sending additional troops to the border. Do you really want to be the one outed for having blabbed to the press? Mattis don’t take no prisoners and you should know that by now.
Understandably, DHS Sec Nielsen wouldn’t to say what the response would be. However, if, IMO, one of the “migrants” incites violence against a Border Patrol agent; then the response should be measured, strategic, and essentially drop kick perpetrator to the curb.
Yet NYT Times reporter Nicholas Kristof, the North Korea pizza dude, has a different take on this.

WHOA NELLY!! There’s a lot to unpack that in that sad sad tweet.
690,000 Americans will suddenly become homeless if we enforce the laws of this land? Hey Nick? Get back with me on Monday and let me know how that prediction played out. Because this stat doesn’t help your premise:

As far as the gun violence stat. Look, Chicago has enough problems due to gun violence. They certainly don’t need the additional challenge of keeping up with the fictional Joneses that Nick Kristof has ascribed them too.

Fact is, Victory Girls Toni asked some incredibly relevant questions the other day. Questions that absolutely NO ONE in the media wants to answer.
Yet upon the whiff of a potential executive order that DEFENDS this country, the media and idiot pundits will be all up in arms because FEELINGS!, political correctness, and kick our country’s laws to the curb.
Folks, every single person in that caravan, if they step foot in this country without being challenged, will have entered in ILLEGALLY.

That is the key issue. According to most in the Democrat Left, someone is supposed to shout “I’m oppressed!,” or “Life is endangered!,” or “They will kill me!,” and we are supposed to just wave them on by?
NO. That is not how any of this works folks. And make no mistake. Every single person in that caravan, if they step foot across the border, will be here ILLEGALLY. Period. Full. Stop.

OK, here’s another exercise induced epiphany: When you lay out the numbers, you realize that we are doing it all wrong when attempting to deal with the current ~5,000-10,000 invading guerrilla army. Yes, what else would you call a cadre that big intending by any means necessary to enter the US unlawfully. Anyway, we need to deal with it like any other army intending to invade. You don’t wait for it to reach your walls unless you are certain they will hold. We know that is not the case. We need to interdict and disperse them early and often. The main attack plan should involve a complete severance of their lines of supply, food, water, fuel, sanitation and transportation. Without logistics, they will crawl back to their own countries.
Some facts: the distance between the southern and northern Mexico borders is easily more than 1000 miles. The average walking speed is somewhere between 2-3 miles/hour. Thus, even walking 12 hours a day will require a minimum of 28 days to arrive, well after the mid-terms. So, they are getting transport from someone, not to mention all the food, and water, etc. needed to keep that many people on the move. They’re not all just stopping at bodegas on their way north. I haven’t seen too many pictures of people with backpacks or pulling carts so they must have a travelling supply line. CUT IT! Let the Mexican government know that if they want to help, they WILL accept our assistance [or be dealt with as an aider and abettor in the invasion] and then set up rolling checkpoints just to the north of the caravan movement and search every vehicle. Any vehicle found to be transporting illegals or their supplies will be seized and destroyed on the spot. Let the illegals know that if they wish to be fed and watered, they will find aid to the south, just enough to get them to the next aid station further south, and so on.
Finally, I am certain we must have some human intel assets within the caravan that would be able to identify the 5 or so jefes directing the operation. They should be abducted and spirited out of country to Gitmo, or to some other black site for “reasonable” interrogation as to the people and organizations behind this attempted invasion. You’ve cut off the head of the immediate snake and identified others for more severe action as enemy operatives.

On second thought, don’t worry about it…
CSS is right.
1) the Mexican government should be told that either it cooperates with interdiction of the invaders or the U.S. will do it on its own, and regard Mexico as a hostile country. Any Mexican forces resisting U.S. interdiction efforts will be targets.
2) organizers and financiers of the invaders to Gitmo.
3) the real problem is the percentage of Americans, including MSM and much of Democrat party, quite willing to sabotage the United States. Only response I can think of is to try to minimize their numbers by persuading the majority of those not currently paying attention. Trump seems to have some talent at this – now’s the time to use it.

Well, maybe…….
If another ~690,000 will become non-homeless during the same period, as the homelessness rate is moderately steady (varies in the single digits, I believe, as long as no one changes the rules).
8,850 Americans will die from guns
Even Chicago can’t achieve those numbers!
According to the FBI (2015, since that’s what came to the top in DuckDuckGo), there were fewer than 16,000 murders in the US, and only 71.5% of those involved firearms. Which means an annual “gun death” total of a little over 11,000. Add in suicides, and that number triples.
Which still requires the caravan to move for 3½ months to achieve that “8,850” total.
16,800 Americans will die from drugs
And that works out to fewer than 3 months (based on National Institute of Drug Abuse stats for 2017).
That is the key issue.
I actually think the key issue is that they thought they could crash our borders in the first place.
This is like the local homeless crowd announcing that they’re coming to your house, and – though they will ask nicely when they get there – that they plan on moving into your garage. All of them.
Even if they don’t step across the border, the threat is an attack – regardless of “legality” in the fashion in which most people think of it.
