“Major” Christiana Amanpour Displays Hegseth Derangement Syndrome

CNN’s own purveyor of Soviet-style agitprop Christiane Amanpour has tried to drag Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. Amanpour bleated that Hegseth retired from the Army as a Major AND Amanpour’s own dogtag said Major. The implication, straight forward, is that Hegseth and Amanpour wore the same rank. Stop laughing.

For more laughs, take a gander at the featured image at the top of this post. I asked Super Grok on X to generate an image of Amanpour as an Army Major. There are so many things wrong with that image it sent me into more gales of laughter. The errors make it plus-que-parfait. The image illustrates Amanpour’s more than healthy ego.

Christiane Amanpour has compared President Donald Trump to Adolphe Hitler on Kristallnacht. It’s par for the course for Amanpour to drag Hegseth for only being a Major. ONLY! From Red State:

Democrats and the mainstream media (but I repeat myself) have their sights set on Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, with the press desperate to discredit him as unfit for office, and Democrats happy for their journo allies to lay the groundwork for an impeachment effort.

“I sat there in church, and I thought: Our press are just like these Pharisees. Not all of you. Not all of you. But the legacy, Trump-hating press,” Hegseth stated. “Your politically-motivated animus for President Trump nearly completely blinds you from the brilliance of our American warriors. The Pharisees scrutinized every good act in order to find a violation. Only looking for the negative.”

One media figure who really took offense to Hegseth’s comparison of the MSM to the Pharisees was CNN Chief International Anchor Christiane Amanpour, whose notorious reputation as a shameless, liberally biased “journalist” typically walks into a room before she does.

On Friday, she took to X and proceeded to write what she probably thought was a pretty snappy response to Hegseth. But while I’ll leave the religious parts of it for others to debate, it was what she put at the very end that raised quite a few eyebrows:

Using the Pentagon podium to lash out at journalists in extreme biblical terms is unprecedented, misguided, and frankly wrong on the substance. Ever since Sunday School Catholic classes, I have been well aware of the Scribes and the Pharisees. They were the bad guys against Jesus, the good guy… in current U.S. good v evil war parlance. Bearing witness to the truth is what we journalists are commanded to do, without fear nor favor.

I am also well aware of the Ten Commandments, and therefore urge any government radical anywhere, to follow the 9th… against bearing false witness.

And finally an observation: the current Secretary of War, f/k/a Defence, left the military with the rank of Major. I recall my dogtag in the first Gulf war had the rank of major… the very same rank. Just sayin’!

For purposes of being transparent, I am the Mother of a U.S. Army Major. I have never looked or asked to look at his dogtag. Seems wrong. The idea that Amanpour believes that she wore the same rank as my son and his friends frosts me. Doing a ride along does not convey rank.

Amanpour never signed a contract, went to Basic Training, OSUT, Warrior Forge or Officer Candidate School. She was never following leadership in a battle. She never took an oath:

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

Some journos/presents are as confused as actors about reality. They don’t comprehend that they are not the main character.

Maybe Christiane Amanpour is losing it and only thought she was a Major. In conversation with her ex-husband Jamie Rubin, she made quite a few verbal gaffes while dinging Donald Trump:

The people with Trump Derangement Syndrome and Hegseth Derangement Syndrome are absolutely foaming at the mouth. That includes Christiane Amanpour.

You may not like him, but Hegseth is a hero. A Major (O-4) is a very respectable position if you do it right. A Sergeant (E-5) is the same. There are many opportunities to face plant along the way.

Miss Amanpour should come down and pay respect to the work of others. She should not try and ding them or cover herself with the glory of others.
