Trump Pivots On Ukraine

After berating the unorganized mess that is the UN, Trump offered up a surprising position on the Ukraine/Russia war after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Between faulty escalators and Terrazzo floors, It appears Trump has done a 180. Just last month, the President suggested the possibility of “land swaps” between the Ukraine and Russia. Today, Trump sang another tune, stating that he thinks Ukraine, with the assistance of the European Union and NATO, could win all of its territory back in its original form. From Truth Social:

I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form. With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO, the original Borders from where this War started, is very much an option.”-President Donald Trump

This sentiment was a far cry from the shouting match on national TV back in February:

But, why the 180? If you ask anyone in Liberal Land, they will tell you that Trump loves to flip-flop.

We think he does. To them, Trump does not know the sky is up, which is ironic coming from a group of people who no longer knows what a woman is, but I digress. To us, we say, don’t let Trump fool you. He talks a lot but has quite a bit of intention between the bravado, the bragging and the insults. The guy is not as dumb as they like to think he is.

Zelenskyy said he was also a bit surprised by this revelation:

The positions of our teams are closer than any time before. Details of the situation on the battlefield from intelligence of both countries are similar. I think we have better relation than before, and I think we didn’t have close relation [before] because we didn’t have maybe time, I don’t know.” –Volodymyr Zelenskyy

So, Ukraine’s got the cards now?

According to Trump, intel states that Russia is a “paper tiger” (quote), losing the war in Ukraine and that Russia is losing funding, resources and traction.

Russia’s extremely modest recent gains have come at a terrible price. While the Kremlin does not release information about its war dead, conservative estimates of Russian casualties based on open source data suggest catastrophic losses during the summer months numbering tens of thousands. As German journalist and BILD correspondent Julian Röpcke has noted, any sober assessment of Russia’s summer offensive must conclude that it has been a ‘debacle.'”-Peter Dickinson, atlanticcouncil.org

We do hope this is the case. Though, I can count the times the left whined and said they thought Trump would “end this war on Day One” of his Presidency after hearing this news. After hearing the President’s assessment from yesterday, it’s almost as if these seekers of doom are rooting against Ukraine and an end to war now because=Orange Man says it can happen.

But, yes. Mind the words Trump uttered. With time, patience, and the financial support of Europe and, in particular, NATO.Read: he expects Europe and NATO to chip in and help bring Ukraine to victory and peace. He expects them to shoulder some of this burden and to help their neighbors. Read: it’s not up to US to end this war. It really was not even up to US to fund it as much as we have but, here we are. It doesn’t happen without US but, it doesn’t happen solely with US, either. We have given resources but we (and Ukraine) need the partnership (key word here) with Europe and NATO. I do not think he is talking just to hear himself on this one. Only time will tell.

He, Trump, gave Putin a gift and Putin refused it. Now Trump is calling out all the NATO countries that buy Russian oil and natural gas to buy from other sources. Since all Russia has to sell is its natural resources its manufacturing output is mainly weaponry. Stop buying their natural resources takes away his main income and thus defunds the war. Putin be left one choice, with lowering the prices of his resources which will cause shortages in Moscow and create an angry populace..
