SPLC Attorney Faces Domestic Terrorism Charges In Atlanta Riots

UPDATED BELOW: A staff attorney for the Southern Poverty Law Center was one of the Atlanta rioters arrested last night. Yes, you read that correctly. It seems that organization has ANOTHER problematic employee. One who was involved in the riots that had buildings set fire and Molotov cocktails thrown under the guise of a “peaceful” protest.

Police have charged 23 Antifa activists from as far away as France and Canada with domestic terrorism after violent riots at a police training facility in Atlanta.

Atlanta Police Department released details of the suspects after officers were attacked with fireworks and Molotov cocktails at the construction site for the facility, dubbed ‘Cop City’ by protesters.

The individuals, mostly men and women from outside of Georgia, are each charged with domestic terrorism.

Isn’t that interesting? Many of these rioter terrorists aren’t even from the United States!

Oh, but the protests were much more ‘fiery but peaceful’ than that.

Several pieces of construction equipment were also set on fire at the 85-acre site of the future training center in DeKalb County, Schierbaum said.

Surveillance footage captured towering plumes of smoke and flames rising from the site after the heavy equipment was set alight.

“This was a very violent attack, very violent attack,” Schierbaum said. “This wasn’t about a public safety training center. This was about anarchy … and we are addressing that quickly.”

Yes, it was anarchy. It is no longer about some yahoo who shot at the cops several weeks ago. When anarchists are imported from around the U.S. and the world, the gloves need to come off.

Now we find out that one of the protestors is an attorney with the Southern Poverty Law Center.

There are multiple reasons why this is beyond problematic for the SPLC. First of all, that organization has continually publicized lists of people and organizations that THEY label as domestic terrorists. For example, The Family Research Council was on their list for quite some time. Which led to an attack on their offices in D.C. were because they were on the list.

It was the type of violent incident that one could expect a group that purportedly monitors “hate,” like the Southern Poverty Law Center, to notice, research and decry. In fact, we were on the center’s radar but for all the wrong reasons. The assailant acknowledged later in FBI testimony that he had selected our office precisely because the SPLC had labeled my employer a “hate group.”

By the way, the Family Research Council is STILL on their HateWatch list! More recently, Libs of Tik Tok was targeted by the geniuses at the Southern Law Poverty Center.

Furthermore, the FBI has long been on record as using the SPLC as a source to identify and track down groups that they’ve willfully labeled as domestic terrorists. Oh, but not all organizations receive that label from SPLC. The folks at SPLC believe Antifa isn’t a terrorist anarchist group.

The SPLC has no open affiliation with antifa black bloc protesters, but it condemned President Donald Trump’s 2020 move to designate antifa as a “terrorist organization,” calling it “dangerous and unjust.”

“Antifa, short for anti-fascist, is a broad, community-based movement composed of individuals organizing against racial and economic injustice,” the SPLC’s “Hatewatch” said. “Those who identify with the label represent a large spectrum of the political left. The Trump administration frequently uses the term to describe any group or individual that demonstrates in opposition to its policies. Far-right extremists use similar tactics.”

Well, unless the Jurgens found himself “accidentally” on the wrong side of the fence wearing black bloc and participating in the destruction of construction equipment, buildings, materials and attacking law enforcement, I’d say that there is now a VERY OPEN affiliation with Antifa

I guess throwing Molotov cocktails and setting fire to buildings and equipment is totally fine. Which makes sense when you read through the SPLC’s Hate Map section. The George Floyd riots aren’t even mentioned. Guess who IS on their list?

Interesting and illuminating list isn’t it?

This latest news makes it pretty clear in my opinion. The Southern Law Poverty Center is no longer a true civil rights organization that used to go up against the Klu Klux Klan. Nope, the SPLC has moved on and are now apologists for Antifa, a hate group if there ever was one!

One other item to note, only two (both attorneys) of the 23 arrested will be charged with domestic terrorism.

Why? Because the rest of those violent protestors aren’t U.S. citizens.

UPDATE: Supposedly, Jurgens was only there as a legal observer working in tandem with the National Lawyers Guild (NLG). According to their joint statement, the movement to Stop Cop City needs to continue and it’s the fault of the “heavy-handed law enforcement intervention against protestors” that led to Jurgens accidentally getting arrested.

And if you believe that, I’ve a bridge on the moon to sell you.

The only reason the SPLC still exists is because Liberal Democrats have control of the vast majority of our education system and 90 percent of the mass media. So, most people don’t realize SPLC is a hate group.

Wait…I thought crossing state lines was an unforgivable sin to liberals.

I remember reading, somewhere, that the progressive left is like a parasite. It invades an good organization, but hollows it out on the inside, then walks around in it’s skin. I wish I could give the credit to whoever wrote that. The SPLC is a classic example.

mostly men and women from outside of Georgia
Not “mostly”. From what I understand, all but 2 were not locals. And two of the not-locals weren’t even from the US.

    This was about anarchy
Actually, the word you’re looking for is terrorism. Actual treat these mobs as terrorists and you might stop them.

this is beyond problematic for the SPLC
Pfft. Not problematic at all. The media won’t stomp on them for it. The people will never know (at least the ones that still watch “the news”). Heck, most people don’t even know 1. that SPLC is the source for a lot of the crap the gov’t is doing, and 2. that almost everything they publish is a lie. This will not hurt the SPLC at all.

The Southern Law Poverty Center is no longer a true civil rights organization
I don’t think it ever was. It was always a Progressive institution oriented on advancing the cause, not on actually caring about civil rights. It would take a lot of evidence to prove otherwise to me.

Should they be shut down over this and over their constant libel? Absolutely?
WILL they be shut down? Not any time soon.

“Why? Because the rest of those violent protestors aren’t U.S. citizens.”.. so that makes the INTERNATIONAL TERRORISTS”.. Summary execution seems appropriate.
