SFSU President: Riley Gaines Assault “Honored” First Amendment

Not only is the Vice President of SFSU (San Francisco State University) praising the protestors who physically assaulted Riley Gaines and tried to extort money from her before letting her go, now the President of the same has doubled down. You see, their actions “honored” the First Amendment!

Oh, the actual discussion might have been interesting and constructive, but the events afterwards were NOT.

Gaines, a former college swimmer, was speaking about the role of transgender athletes in women’s sports at an event hosted by the conservative group Turning Point USA on Thursday. A video posted on social media showed Gaines being escorted to safety by police after dozens of protestors got inside the venue, with the ex-college athlete claiming she was “physically hit twice by a man,” and trapped in an empty classroom for three hours.

None of it was pretty. And none of what happened is worthy of any praise whatsoever.

Yet that is where the Vice President went in the school’s first statement after the incident.

In other words, it was super peaceful and everyone there was awesome! Except for Riley Gaines that is. Because she is daring to speak out and not want men participating in women’s sports, she’s transphobic and therefore “deserves” all the hate, pushback, and even getting assaulted.

What’s instructive is how both the President and Vice President of the university are framing this. Furthermore, the media is doing the same.

“I was physically assaulted by one person. I was struck twice, both times hitting my shoulder with the second strike grazing my face,” Gaines told CNN’s Natasha Chen. “The rest of the protestors just ambushed and cornered me before I was able to move out with the help of campus police.”

A video Gaines posted from the event showed her moving quickly while surrounded by security officers. A protester can be heard shouting “trans rights are human rights,” but the video is shaky and does not appear to show an assault.

In other words, the implication is that even though Riley is saying she was physically assaulted, since the video doesn’t actually show it, it’s just her word against all the wonderful trans activist harpies.

All Riley wants and what ALL women should want is women’s sports to STAY women’s sports. Yet the activists, the Biden Administration, the media, and woke corporations such as Tampax, KitchenAid, and Anheuser-Busch are shoving women aside in favor of the likes of Lia Thomas and Dylan Mulvaney

Women have been fighting hard for years if not decades for equality in sports and in the work place. Now, within the space of less than two years, women are being shoved aside in favor of men who’ve decided it’s not enough to be transgender, they want their cake – ALL of their cake. Even those such as Megan Rapinoe who wanted equal pay in soccer, won’t stand up for women. Instead she and others are standing up for the transgender crowd because reasons.

It’s transphobic to advocate for biological women. And, as such, while SFSU attempts to declare that screaming profanities, assaulting Riley Gaines, and keeping her trapped in a room for over three hours is “honoring” the First Amendments, the university has blatantly demonstrated that equality and women no longer matter. Instead they’ve bought into the insidiousness that is diversity, equity, and inclusion.

So, SFSU’s history of activism and commitment to free speech means marginalizing women in favor of men masquerading as women. Got it.

“Physical intimidation or violence is never an acceptable response to speech, no matter how hateful or controversial that speech may be,” said Kristen Shahverdian, PEN America’s senior manager in free expression and education.

“Universities are sites of discussion, debate, and disagreement,” Shahverdian added in a statement. “What happened at SFSU makes a mockery of the principles of free speech that allow higher education to function. This is unacceptable, and anathema to how a campus should operate.”

Given the two statements from the SFSU President and Vice President, the angry mob of trans activists can rest assured that there will be zero consequences for their actions from the university itself. Their screaming, shouting, shoving, and bullying “honored” the First Amendment you see.

Riley Gaines standing for WOMEN is, according to not only that mob, but the university itself, hate speech. So much so that the VP of the University has now blocked Riley on social media. Riley is the baddie here, they are not according to the new terms we are supposedly living with.
