Oh, Salon! Where does one begin? Senior Writer, Amanda Marcotte has for sure come up with some epic fodder for us, but this one is for the books.
Either Mandy is obsessed with Kristi Noem or The Proud Boys, we’re not sure, but her latest missive indicates she may have a little bit of pent-up frustration for both:
I’m far from the first observer to notice how much ICE, under the leadership of Homeland Security Secretary — and proud dog-killer — Kristi Noem, has come to resemble the Proud Boys, a neo-fascist group founded by Gavin McInnes in 2016. As Wired’s David Gilbert wrote in response to ICE’s recent invasion of Minneapolis, the reason we haven’t seen a resurgence of the Proud Boys in Trump’s second term is that the president’s ‘militarization’ of ICE and “embrace of white nationalist rhetoric” leaves the group ‘without a role to play.’
ICE’s current aesthetics owe much to the Proud Boys, from the masks they use to hide their identity and their corny but racist language about “heritage” to their attachment to the phrase “FAFO,” which is short for “eff around and find out.” But Kristi Noem hasn’t just changed the way ICE presents itself. The tactics the agency now uses and the ideas fueling its mission are eerily identical to the vision of the Proud Boys that McInnes laid out from the group’s very beginnings.”--Amanda Marcotte, Salon
Yes, Amanda. Many others are with you. ICE is just like The Proud Boys, just militarized by Trump who, along with Noem, want to push their warm, sweet, embrace of “white nationalistic rhetoric” to the masses by eradicating criminals who shouldn’t be here. In fact, they just need to “get the f-ck out”, right?
Or is it, we want peace? Hard to keep track these days…
But wait, there’s more from Marcotte:
…the gross beliefs the (SIC) fueled the Proud Boys, and now ICE and its supporters; the reliance on deadbeats and losers as foot soldiers; and the advocacy of violent tactics we’re now seeing play out in the invasion of Minneapolis.”-Amanda Marcotte
So, now all ICE agents are “deadbeats” and “foot soldiers”. You see what she did there? The deadbeats and foot soldiers are not the ones not working on a weekday, with the free time to block traffic and obstruct these officers from doing their jobs. The deadbeats and losers are the WHOLE organization that is ICE. Such an informed opinion from the senior writer of Salon here, yet again. Yes. the “deadbeat” who shot Renee Nicole Good was just some “loser, foot soldier” who got dragged by a car when attempting to arrest a child predator six months before. He killed an innocent lesbian. Deadbeats shot a gang member and a leader of a prostitution ring (no human trafficking going on there, I’m sure they’re on the up-and-up).
Mandy talks in depth about The Gavin McInnes Show (closet fangirl?), founder of The Proud Boys:
McInnes appealed to a young male audience with shock jock tactics, which included using a butt plug live on camera ‘to own the libs.’
McInnes’ views were swiftly turned into action by his followers during Trump’s first term. In 2017, the Proud Boys started targeting liberal cities full of people they believed needed to be “slapped,” such as Portland, Oregon. They roamed around waving flags and shouting insults at the locals, hoping to draw a reaction that they could claim justified lashing out at people with violence under their ridiculous views of ‘self-defense.'”-Amanda Marcotte, Salon
Now, I am not saying I agree with McInnes, but I certainly don’t agree with Marcotte, either. If the libs are upset by a butt plug, they are more upset by a Christmas tree that they replaced, in Portland, Oregon, effectively, with a gigantic butt plug. And, I agree with him that many people in Portland need to be slapped. Several times upside the head. They, in part, ushered in the clown show and now tragedies taking place in most of our big cities.
The biggest tell-tale sign of all that Marcotte might have a thing for The Proud Boys more than Kristi Noem is when she, herself, attempted to reach out to Gavin McInnis and he called her a “ninny white lady”. But, y’all, she LIVED in Texas in a BILINGUAL town. The town and state she desperately hates and wanted to get away from! She’s SO culturally DIVERSE! How dare he call her a “ninny white lady”!
Mandy Marcotte even echoed the sentiments of other liberal commentators about the song choice for the latest ICE campaign, the self-pitying (as she calls it) “We’ll Have Our Home Again”.
The lyrics of “We’ll Have Our Home Again” unfold a narrative that resonates deeply with anyone who has experienced displacement or loss. The opening lines set a somber tone, introducing the listener to a world where the concept of home feels distant. The use of imagery related to fire and darkness serves as a metaphor for the internal turmoil faced by individuals who feel alienated in their own surroundings. This imagery evokes a sense of urgency and desperation, as the protagonist grapples with feelings of being a foreigner in their own land.
As the song progresses, the repeated refrain of hope and determination emerges, emphasizing the belief that a return to a place of comfort is not only possible but inevitable. The phrase “by blood or sweat” suggests that reclaiming this home requires collective effort and sacrifice, highlighting the importance of community and shared experiences in overcoming adversity. This line resonates with listeners who understand that personal struggles are often intertwined with the struggles of others, creating a sense of solidarity.”-songtell.com
So, the questions are these: as a man or a woman, as an American, do you watch or listen to the news and walk our city streets thinking, “what the hell happened here?” Do you see the desperation, the addiction, the crime, the filth in our liberal cities, masked by oblivious, virtue-signaling signs of the same Americans who talk about kindness and yell insults at those with whom they disagree? Do you look at it all and think, “this is what my ancestors, and ancestors of others of all racial backgrounds fought for when they came over to America, desperately wanting to be citizens and to make lives for themselves?” This? This division? This discord? This chaos? You may be looking around and asking, “Is this my home?”
Marcotte may argue that McInnes and The Proud Boys shaped ICE into the white-man, racist, bigoted, violent, hateful, nationalistic machine that it is. This, to me, is a crappy analogy if I’ve ever heard one. I can do one better. Amanda Marcotte and the collective left turned white women into the shrieking, entitled, delusional, sanctimonious, militant, out-of-touch, pretentious, self-loathing, emasculating, ugly inside-and-out, pro-abort, child-grooming, elitists that they are. There. Fixed it for you, Amanda. Now, here’s some Prozac.
FYI. This is not our home. We’re all just wandering in the desert. But Godless, liberal women like Marcotte and the writers at Salon have no concept of this idea. This is all they’ve got.
