Nancy Pelosi has caved to the far left. Impeachment proceedings of some sort against President Trump will happen.
“Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on Tuesday that the House would begin a formal impeachment inquiry of President Trump, saying that he had betrayed his oath of office and the nation’s security in seeking to enlist a foreign power for his own political gain.
“The actions taken to date by the president have seriously violated the Constitution,” she said after emerging from a meeting of House Democrats in the basement of the Capitol. Mr. Trump, she said, “must be held accountable — no one is above the law.””
All of this is because of a whistleblower who has said that he/she heard someone say that someone else said something about a phone call Trump had with the President of Ukraine. Nancy and the House Democrats are running full speed into a raging dumpster fire all because of HEARSAY.
How many times do we have to point out to Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and the rest of the political chattering class that going after someone based upon hearsay wins you exactly nothing and BUPKISS?
Evidently that lesson hasn’t sunk in. Thus Nancy caved to the left and this is the result.
The fact that she had the gall to invoke the Constitution at the start is infuriating. Particularly given House and Senate Democrats role in the nearly three years of tantrums regarding Russia, Trump, Mueller report! Furthermore, they should answer for their role in the Kavanaugh hearings debacle where they were all too happy to throw all due process along with the rule of law and the Constitution out the window. Nancy can go pound sand with her virtue-signaling self.
Take a look at the video above. The media firefighters are running with this saying ‘WE GOT HIM NOW!’ But Nancy is couching this impeachment inquiry with a ton of “if’s, ands, and buts.” That’s quite a bit of fence straddling there.
The funny thing about this is, Nan decided to go ahead with this inquiry right after Trump signaled that he’d release the complete un-redacted transcript of his call with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine. If the call doesn’t say what they want it to say…then what can they impeach Trump on?
Nancy also specifically said that Trump should be impeached because he hasn’t turned over the full documentation of the whistleblower complaint. Again, it’s a complaint based upon HEARSAY. Yes, I’m yelling!
Furthermore, we are supposed to believe this whistleblower, who reported a story he/she heard from someone who said that somebody else told them that that other person said something about a phone call?
We are supposed to believe this whistleblower when the attorney working for them worked for Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton??

If that doesn’t send a red flag up, the others involved in helping the whistleblower aren’t squeaky clean either.

Meanwhile our media betters such as Chuck Todd, Chris Cilliza, and Brian Stelter are beside themselves with glee that Trump will finally get his comeuppance. Hillary, who has NO room to talk, has declared that Trump is a ‘corrupt human tornado’.

In order to provide cover for Joe Biden, who DID brag that he got an investigation into his son, Hunter, shut down, and re-litigate the 2016 election results, Nancy Pelosi caved to the far left-wing lunatics in her party. Why? To keep what power she has.

At the current rate, the Dems have shot so far left that they may have already lost the House.
In this scenario, she lets the Squad ruin their credibility charging a windmill, but not costing her party the votes of those with TDS. She can later position herself both as a moderate voice of reason advising against rash action, and the champion of justice willing to investigate the Evil Orangemanbad.

How does she, as Speaker, agree to initiate an impeachment inquiry but somehow avoid all the blowback and direct it only onto her adversaries within her own ranks? I don’t think the average voter is going to draw that fine a distinction. Pelosi has just made it the policy of her entire caucus to pursue impeachment. It is hard to see how they don’t all share the responsibility for that in the voting booth next year.

mike says: As a libertarian not a huge Trump fan, but he’s not really done much outside the ordinary gamut other than talk smack to the hacks in the media (which is long overdue). It is quite fascinating watching a political party slowly open the bottle and start scarfing the phenobarbital in a hara kiri themed Noh drama. I root for gridlock no matter which party has the White House, but these morons won’t get back into power in the next 20 years and team R will have free rein. The only thing preventing a Reaganesque slaughter is Trump’s personality, but that will just keep the D electoral losses from annhilitation territory.

Look not only at the Clinton foundation and our secretary of state. Look at Harry Reid and his family dealings with land and the chinese. I don’t think San Fran Nan is really looking to get the President impeached, but to dig as much as possible, pitching dirt and mud everywhere, right up until the 2020 election.
(Mitch might play into her hands, though, if the House actually impeaches and he refuses to hear it. She can get an awful lot of traction for “See how the Republicans are obstructing justice?!” if he overplays it.)

Again, impeachment is an inherently political action, not a legal proceeding. If they could get enough votes in both houses, it wouldn’t matter that the alleged behavior didn’t rise to the level of “high crimes and misdemeanors” for the rest of us.
