The NBA continues to have just the best week ever.
After the brazen cowardice of the NBA when it came to Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey tweeting out support for Hong Kong and then being forced to kiss the ring of China, and then the sabotaging of the press conference and the removal of pro-Hong Kong signs during games IN THE UNITED STATES, the NBA decided that the hole that’s been dug juuuuust isn’t deep enough to bury them all.
Because you know, the REAL bad guy in the room isn’t communist China, it’s the United States. This is courtesy of Steve Kerr, coach of the Golden State Warriors. He took exception to President Trump calling him out.

Steve Kerr has been hugely outspoken on social justice issues. But he is as silent as the grave on the human rights abuses of China. Why? Because the United States has such TERRIBLE GUN CRIME, YOU KNOW.
Steve Kerr, head coach of the Golden State Warriors, told reporters Thursday he has never been asked about “human rights abuses” that take place in the U.S. when he visits China.”
“No. Nor has our record of human rights abuses come up either,” he said after a reporter asked if he had been questioned about Chinese human rights while in China. “People in China didn’t ask me about, you know, people owning AR-15s and mowing each other down in a mall.”
“The world is a complex place and there’s more gray than black and white,” he added.”
Oh, really. So much for that whole “speaking truth to power” thing, huh, Steve Kerr.
Apparently the answer to his question is "lucrative deals with China." pic.twitter.com/66hwP5keuP

What cowardice. But then the Portland Trail Blazers decided to help dig the hole deeper. Because you know who is REALLY terrible? Israel, of course!!!
The NBA is doing fantastic work these days: Portland Trail Blazers Join Boycott Against Israel — Team severs ties with company that works with Israeli Defense Forces https://t.co/QQ726z5bWw

Hello and welcome back to blaming Israel, because what we REALLY needed for the NBA to do is show off some anti-Semitism right now, while they’re busy kissing ChiCom ass.
As the NBA is facing outrage after the general manager of the Houston Rockets capitulated to censorship by the Chinese communist government, the Trail Blazers quietly severed ties with the manufacturer Leupold, which has a contract to produce accessories for the Israeli Defense Forces.”
Trail Blazers president and CEO Chris McGowan recently announced the decision to bow to pressure from BDS activists, telling a reporter for the Bleacher Report that “Leupold is no longer a part of the organization.”
The move was celebrated by anti-Israel activists and picked up by the pro-BDS blog Mondoweiss, which stated that the decision came “after a year-long campaign by local activists to pressure the Blazers to drop the sponsor.”
Good job, Trail Blazers – way to represent your social justice values by spitting on the only democracy in the Middle East.
But if we’ve learned anything in the last week, it’s that the NBA doesn’t care about democracy or free speech, so this is pretty on brand for them. I hope they enjoy their new identity as communist appeasers for the sake of the almighty dollar.
