Mike Flynn’s Dropped Case Problematic For Barack Obama

When you think of someone in the modern era with overweening arrogance and a condescending attitude towards others, the man in the caricature above, Barack Obama is probably at the top of your mind. That he thinks he has the right to weigh in on the Department of Justice’s decision to drop the case against Lt. General Mike Flynn. He is so high on himself that he doesn’t see that the case is problematic for him.

In case you haven’t heard, former President Barack Obama had a phone conference with the Obama Alumni Associations members to discuss support for former Vice-President Joe Biden. The call was “leaked” to Yahoo News. Wipe that shocked look off your face. Really, how else would the Obama Alumni control the “narrative” if they didn’t get the press to talk about their story?

From the Yahoo News report:

“The news over the last 24 hours I think has been somewhat downplayed — about the Justice Department dropping charges against Michael Flynn,” Obama said in a web talk with members of the Obama Alumni Association.

“And the fact that there is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free. That’s the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic — not just institutional norms — but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk. And when you start moving in those directions, it can accelerate pretty quickly as we’ve seen in other places.”

Downplayed, my Aunt Fanny. Jeffrey Toobin told Wolf Blitzer, on CNN, that dropping the case against Mike Flynn showed the “fix was in”. On MSNBC, Chuck Rosenberg said it was bad for the rule of law. That was pretty much the group think on every other channel. No, not downplayed. Played just the way the Democrats wanted it.

So, what’s Barack Obama’s game? Getting the “leaked” alumni conversation out there ensures that the legacy media will continue to protect Obama. If you care to listen to that portion of the leaked teleconference, here it is:

Barack Obama is in to the top of his eyebrows in the Mike Flynn case. Again, in case you haven’t heard, former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates spilled the tea to Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The Washington Examiner reported:

Yates told Mueller’s team she first learned of the Flynn recordings following a White House meeting about the Intelligence Community Assessment attended by Yates, Comey, Vice President Joe Biden, then-CIA Director John Brennan, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, then-national security adviser Susan Rice, and others. Obama asked Yates and Comey to stay behind when the meeting concluded.

Obama “started by saying that he had ‘learned of the information about Flynn’ and his conversation with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak,” Yates said, according to the notes. “Obama specified he did not want any additional information on the matter but was seeking information on whether the White House should be treating Flynn any differently.”

See all those big names there? The ones who have been pushing the Trump/Russia collusion story for nearly four years. The Obama collusion team, right there. Miss Yates didn’t know what Obama was talking about:

Yates told investigators that “at that point,” she “had no idea what the President was talking about.” She “recalled Comey mentioning the Logan Act” but could not remember if Comey specifically said there was an “investigation.”

“It was not clear … where the President first received the information,” Yates said, adding that she “did not recall Comey’s response to the President’s question about how to treat Flynn.” Yates told Mueller’s team, “She was so surprised by the information she was hearing that she was having a hard time processing it and listening to the conversation at the same time,” the notes said.

Old Sally got on the “get Mike Flynn train” pretty darn fast. More from the Examiner:

On Jan. 24, 2017, Yates and her team agreed that she would inform the Trump White House about the Flynn recordings, and Yates called Comey to let him know. But when Yates spoke with Comey later that day, he “informed her that two agents were on their way to interview Mike Flynn at the White House.”

The deputy attorney general said she was “flabbergasted” and “dumbfounded,” according to the notes. Yates was “very frustrated” in the call with Comey and felt the decision should have been coordinated with the Justice Department. “You can understand why I did this,” Yates recalled Comey telling her, to which she said, “No.” Comey said he did not want the Flynn interview to “look political,” and Yates was “offended by the implication.” When she told her team what Comey’s FBI had done, Yates said that they “hit the roof.”

Did Miss Yates go to President Trump and tell him what she knew? Nope. She was an Obama true believer and was fired by Trump for insubordination.

So, the arrogant, condescending Obama had Mike Flynn destroyed because Flynn disagreed with his policies. According to The Hill:

How would you like to be investigated by the FBI because you disagreed with the president’s policies? Sounds a little KGB-ish, you might think — and you’d be right, because the FBI has zero authority to conduct such an investigation. But the more we learn about the FBI’s investigation of Michael Flynn, the more it appears he was targeted precisely because, as the national security adviser to the incoming Trump administration, he signaled that the new administration might undo Obama
administration policies — which is kind of what the American people voted for in 2016.

Mike Flynn pleaded guilty to stop the damage to his family. He lost the family home and was bankrupt. By the way, Happy anniversary, General and Mrs. Flynn.

Barack Obama is relying on the media to cover for him. If he wasn’t an arrogant, condescending s.o.b., he might have a conscience. He might feel bad. I am not holding my breath.

“And the fact that there is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free”.. Could that be because no-one has been set up this badly by the FBI before??? (Or at least not anyone that Hoover didn’t destroy the records on?)
” Intelligence Community Assessment attended by Yates, Comey, Vice President Joe Biden, then-CIA Director John Brennan, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, then-national security adviser Susan Rice, and others. “.. Sounds like a conspiracy to me…
“Obama specified he did not want any additional information on the matter “.. trying hard for “plausible deniability” there…
“She “recalled Comey mentioning the Logan Act” Hmm.. funny he never brought that up Re: John Kerry…
Here’s hoping that this is just the start, and after November, the swamp really gets drained, and many end up in prison, including a former President, VP, Sec. State, Attorney General, and many more…

Could that be because no-one has been set up this badly by the FBI before?
Or, that he wasn’t charged with perjury? I’ve seen writing to that effect.

Is this why Mr Obama is now saying how bad Trump’s handling has been of the virus situation? In other words deflecting attention away from him and “look over there not here”.

  • GWB says:

Obama specified he did not want any additional information on the matter
He doesn’t want to be implicated. He wants to be able to plausibly claim ignorance when the coppers come to interrogate him.

Yates was “offended by the implication.”
Yates said that [her team] “hit the roof.”
    Yeah, right. I believe that.
