Call it blatant nerve or just a case of Zohnran Mamdani says the darndest things. The mayor of New York gaffes again and blames his spokesperson for speaking out of turn.
The most recent blunder raised eyebrows with the NYPD. As we know, NYPD and Zohran Mamdani have not been best of friends. If the mayor had complete and total sovereign power, he’d get rid of NYPD altogether. Instead of doing so, however, he’ll just task them with something they have no business doing. Why? Because he’s the Mayor of The Big Apple. It seems as though Mamdani wanted security detail to accompany his “private citizen” wife, Rama Duwaji, on a trip to the Middle East.
Duwaji, who is packing her bags and curating her Sexy For Palestine playlists is longing to be back in Syria and Lebanon to “see family”. But she won’t, Mamdani repeated today, won’t have a police escort on her trip. Even though his own senior spokesperson claimed she would have a NYPD-assigned security detail the day prior. They misspoke, he says…
Upon the strong recommendation of the NYPD, the first lady’s security detail will be joining her when she travels to visit family in Syria and Lebanon.”-Dora Pekec
But, it actually wasn’t upon the “strong recommendation of NYPD”. It was at the request of the First Lady of NYC, Ms. Duwaji herself. She’s not a public figure, though. She’s a very private person. Imagine the nerve of someone like this floating this idea to her husband who holds the keys to one of Amerca’s largest cities. That’s some nervy, gutsy, ballsy, nighttime pillow talk right there. “Honey, you know I hate the cops but can you send a few with me to Syria?”
Let her go on her own. She doesn’t need bodyguards. Islam is a religion of peace and respect to women .

(Snicker)-Oh, the Motherland! She can pack some of her cutesy little Knicks cut-off crop tops, to wear over there, too.
NYPD clapped back:
The NYPD does not send officers to countries with level four travel advisories for discretionary reasons not linked to investigative work.
This is not an investigative trip, and therefore, NYPD personnel will not be traveling there for it.”-NYPD
Talk about Zohran being pelted in the face with the proverbial snowball.
@NYCMayor claims his wife is a private person. If so, why is she entitled to a taxpayer-funded private security detail for a voluntary trip unrelated to NYC business? If the mayor thinks she needs extra security, then he should hit up his parents or his in-laws, both of whom are…

The NYPD wants to be there to protect the mayor and his family — but there are limits. Going to Syria and Lebanon is not like buying a ticket on Amtrak.”-David Catalfamo, communications director for former Gov. George Pataki.
I’ll say. Level 4 advisories on both of Duwaji’s travel destinations. Something tells me that Mrs. Mamdani can travel to the craphole of her choosing just fine by herself. After all, she didn’t need a police escort on her bougie, pro-Palestinian ladies retreat last month. Granted, she went to Corsica and Mallorca, but she’s a seasoned traveler here. Duwaji’s travels are set to kick off on September 20th. How gracious of her, I know. She’s staying for 9/11, which she will most likely sit it out like she did Independence Day (a “private person”, after all) but leaving just in time for Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit.
This, misguided notion that NYPD would and should provide security detail for Zohran Mamdani’s cop-hating, terrorist-loving wifey-for-lifey, was also the perfect opportunity for NYPD’s Commissioner, Jessica Tisch, to own a piece of Zohran Mamdami and clear up any of these, ummm, misunderstandings. Silly Mr. Mayor…don’t you know that taxpayer dollars are not to fund your spouse’s trips to Level 4 hotspots?
Misunderstanding, my forgotten LITTLE ITALY SICILIAN BOOT. Can I get a vaffanculo in the house?
These are not just petty qualms; they’re perfect windows into the Mamdani administration’s mindset — one in which Beirut is much nearer to heart and mind than Borough Park, say, and in which the city’s public servants are required to serve the very private interests of the mayor and his wife first and foremost.
There’s a simple English word for this mindset: It’s corruption.”-Liel Leibovitz, The New York Post
The question still begs. Why would Rama Duwaji want to go on a trip with people she clearly hates? And, besides that, Syria is A GREAT place, right? Perfectly safe for Muslim women. Is Rama Duwaji truly worried that her very own people-the people she loves and longs to be a part of-would cause her harm?
She should be assigned NYC’s Finest Social Workers ..

Mamdani is red in the face because he got caught. He got caught attempting to abuse the system in order to provide security detail for “the love of his life”. Jessica Tisch and the NYPD just pointed the mayor to heaven and served him up a big, deserving slice of the old humble pie. Zo, you are a mayor, not a monarch. And your wife is, as you say, a “very private citizen”. Ergo, do what other rich elitists do and hire your own damn armed security detail.
I would beg to differ and say that Rama Duwaji may also be doing an “investigative trip” of her own, besides visiting her beloved family. Regardless, maybe she wants to “investigate” living there permanently? She can take her dear husband with her.

Leave her protection in the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood….family protects best!
