Could someone tell his Mayoralshipfulness, Zohran Mamdani, that he is NOT the main character in every single story?

It seems the mayor of New York City can’t take a hint. It’s been all over the news that despite the requests of 9/11 families, Mamdani plans on being at events surrounding the 25th anniversary of that horrific day. We have already heard the mayor’s perception of 9/11 – it was all about the “Islamophobia” that he was warned that he MIGHT face as a child, or how his “auntie” who never wore a hijab stopped riding the subway because of her hijab and was actually his father’s cousin. Let’s just say that his previous remarks have done nothing to assure 9/11 families that Mamdani will treat them with any respect on the anniversary of the day that their lives changed forever.

Family members who lost loved ones on 9/11 have started an online petition calling for New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani not to attend the 25th 9/11 remembrance ceremony.

Giovanni Galante, a 9/11 widower, started the petition with a woman who lost her husband on 9/11. Galante’s 29-year-old wife, Grace Catherine Galante, worked on the 105th floor of the north tower.

“We felt that having Mamdani there would show a disrespect to our family members because of the people he supports,” Galante said.

As of Tuesday morning, there were more than 23,000 signatures on the petition.

But because Mamdani sees himself as the main character – and feudal lord – of New York City, he is going to ignore the families and show up anyway.

This brings us to yesterday, when Staff Sergeant Angel Rampersad was remembered and honored at her funeral yesterday in Queens. Rampersad was one of three soldiers killed in Jordan by Iranian drone and missile attacks on July 17th.

The tributes to Rampersad were heartbreaking.

Throngs of mourners flooded the Calvary Assembly of God in Ozone Park to honor the life of Sgt. Angel “Sarah” Rampersad, 28, as her heartbroken loved ones said their final goodbyes.

“My daughter was a real hero and I will miss her dearly,” Rampersad’s mother, Carol Acevedo, said between gut-wrenching sobs.

“Love your kids. … Embrace them, cherish them and be there for them,” she told the church crowd of hundreds. “I don’t have my Sarah anymore.”

During the funeral, devastated family members, neighbors and fellow soldiers brushed away tears while the Rampersad’s favorite gospel songs loudly echoed through the church.

An NYPD-flanked motorcade spanning several blocks, meanwhile, commemorated her death on Long Island, where she was buried.

“She could talk to people in her rank, above her rank, and they would accept it since it was the way she did it,” Daisy Davis-Credle, president of the Queens Sunday School Association, told The Post after the funeral.

“It’s not what you do, it’s how you do what you do. And she knew how to do that — they listened to her.”

Her funeral brought out not just her family and friends, but several elected officials – including Governor Kathy Hochul, and Mamdani. The mayor tweeted about the funeral in the morning.

Hochul spoke during the funeral service, and Mamdani clearly believed that he was going to be speaking as well. That didn’t happen – and the mayor was apparently big mad about being left out.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani was snubbed from eulogizing Army Sgt. Angel Sarah Rampersad at the fallen soldier’s Queens funeral Friday — and the embarrassing scene unfolded in real time as he fumed while waiting in vain to give his speech, sources revealed.

Mamdani, who was relegated to the fourth row in the Ozone Park church, appeared to be reviewing his planned remarks on an iPad while Gov. Kathy Hochul and other dignitaries, including Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, were called to speak, a source in attendance said.

“They kept calling names and then he was never called,” the source said.

“Then he looked over at his staff, frustrated and seemed angry that he didn’t speak. When he realized his name wasn’t being called, he looked at his staff angrily and then eventually put his tablet away.”

The New York Post reported that the family didn’t want Mamdani to speak, and it seems he never reached out to them, either.

Another source involved with the funeral’s planning said Rampersad’s family is pro-President Trump and didn’t want Mamdani to speak.

Yet another insider confirmed that Mamdani’s outspoken lefty politics ultimately led him to lose his customary mayoral role as a speaker during a hometown soldier’s funeral.

“The family is more conservative and wanted to limit any political distractions,” the insider said.

It’s unclear whether the young mayor visited Rampersad’s kin in the days following her death as is customary for Big Apple leaders to do. Nothing about a visit prior to Friday’s funeral appeared on his official public schedule or his indefatigable social media accounts.

Hizzoner did, however, fill his past week “siteseeing” in double-decker bus as part of a housing press stunt and sat for a few interviews with national publications in an attempt to further raise his public profile.

And we might never have known about this snub at all, except that Mamdani’s staff decided make it known that he had a speech prepped!

In lieu of actually speaking at Rampersad’s funeral, Mamdani’s press team blasted out his planned speech, identifying it as “remarks as prepared.”

“It is often said that our fallen ‘gave their tomorrows for our today,’” Mamdani planned to say. “Sergeant Rampersad had tomorrows waiting for her: birthdays, ordinary mornings, evenings spent with her loved ones. But she gave every one of them up so that we could have ours — so that we could stand here today, safe and protected.”

While those are nice words, there is nothing in Mamdani that leads anyone to believe that he actually meant them, especially if he never reached out to the family before the funeral. He just assumed that he would get to give a speech at the funeral, because HE’S THE MAYOR, and that’s why he went to the funeral. While the speaking may have been “customary” for a mayor, it isn’t a God-given right, and Mamdani did nothing to show that he cared about Staff Sergeant Rampersad’s family before he showed up. The Lord Mayor assumed he was the main character, and came with a speech that he didn’t get to use. And when he didn’t get to speak, his staff put it out there anyway, because he’s certainly never going to be able to use it again, right?

It is this same kind of smug and pompous arrogance that is leading Mamdani to say that he will show up to the 9/11 memorials, no matter what the families have to say about it. It would probably be too much for the mayor to show a little self-reflection after the shunning he just received at this funeral. He’s probably confused as to why the family didn’t want his awesome oratory, and mad at his staff for making him look like a dumbass. The idea that not everything is about him might be too much for his brain to handle.
