Machete-Wielding Professor Now Jobless

In the name of equity and tolerance and anti-bigotry, college professors have a right to wield the ol’ machete at journalists and at anyone else who triggers them. They also have the right to cuss and throw things around in an epic temper tantrum if it doesn’t meet the narrative specs.

It’s a good thing universities also recognize their rights to fire machete-wielding college professors, which is exactly what Hunter College did yesterday afternoon.

It all started when several anti-abortion students set up an information booth earlier this month. Rodriguez walked by and accused these students as “triggering” others.

You’re not educating s–t. This is f–king propaganda. What are you going to do like anti-trans next?”-Shellyne Rodriguez

Hmm. Classy. Actually, the students may throw out some anti-trans propaganda next. How triggering would it be if they put a pamphlet on the table that said “Guys Cannot Get Abortions”? How dare they upset the Hunter College student body with truth! And, Ms. Rodriguez? You’re also not educating s-t…but…moving right along…

Rodriguez went on to say the pro-lifers’ display was “violent”. (Like, willfully ending the life of a human who cannot yet speak by harmful chemical death or snapping a baby’s neck is not?) Rodriguez pushed the materials back at the students like a Kindergartener and walked off. Here is where the machete comes in. After learning the news of Rodriguez’s epic fit, a New York Post reporter knocked on the door of her apartment to get her side of the story. Out comes the machete:

Get the f–k away from my door, or I’m gonna chop you up with this machete! Get the f–k away from my door! Get the f–k away from my door!”-Shellyne Rodriguez

Holding the machete up to the reporter was simply not enough. She chased the reporter and the photographer out of the building and into the streets yelling obscenities.

If I see you on this block one more f–king time, you’re gonna …

Get the f–k off the block! Get the f–k out of here, yo!”-Shellyne Rodriguez

This machete-wielding professor (of sane mind, so she thinks) is what is teaching kids at Hunter College in The Bronx these days. She seems nice, no? She kicked the reporter in the shins, too.

So who is Shellyne Rodriguez? She is an art teacher. She holds “radical teach-ins“. She is a self-described “community organizer“. An excerpt from a review on one of her works:

In Ruth Wilson Gilmore’s Syllabus in Rehearsal (2023), the abolitionist geographer stands, smiling, next to a stack of books that includes texts by Mike Davis, W.E.B. Du Bois, Angela Davis, and Karl Marx.”-Andreas Petrossiants, Art In America

Davis times two, DuBois and Marx. Rodriguez is a good machete-weilding Communist. She is also good and fired from Hunter College. Though, the union which represents her days earlier, said her actions were okay; that Rodriguez “was just taking a stand against right-wing, anti-abortion backlash”. Please. All the same, Hunter College gave her the pink slip yesterday afternoon:

Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action,. Rodriguez has been relieved of her duties at Hunter College effective immediately, and will not be returning to teach at the school.”-Vince DiMiceli, Hunter College

An investigation has been opened into Rodriguez’s actions in the past, as well. Specifically, actions tied to an ongoing lawsuit Ms. Rodriguez has with NYPD. You see, she was arrested in The Bronx during one of the George Floyd riots-(err, umm, ‘scuse me)-protests in 2020.

Rodriguez was thrown in a prisoner van with 14 other rioters-I mean-“protestors”. She was cuffed. She claimed one of the officers pulled her hair, shoved her face into a gate and repeatedly punched her in the stomach. She claimed her restraints were too tight and had “swelling and a slew of long-term injuries, including bilateral thumb numbness from nerve damage, as a result of her arrest”. The lawsuit adds that the injuries also “impacted her ability to make art”.

But the injuries had no impact on her ability to wave a machete. Sorry, not sorry and not buying it.

As the story goes, this delicate, little flower was just standing in the drumming circle holding hands with fellow “protestors” who desire a more “peaceful” world in 2020. This is why all charges brought against her were dropped, apparently. Which brings me to another point here and I know what you’re thinking:

Good question. Imagine if the shoe were on the other foot? Ban assault machetes, they would say. They are violent against marginalized people! White people? Don’t dare brandish a gun and tell someone who’s not supposed to be there to get off your lawn. But, by all means-if you’re not white, go at the person in your space with a machete and threaten to chop him up. It’s cool.

We’re sure this story will be continued. In the meantime, Shellyne Rodriguez will take her woke propaganda, Marxist agenda and her machete elsewhere. Some other university or college is bound to be drooling at the opportunity to snatch this gem up for their Fine Arts program.

    “And why isn’t she arrested?”

No doubt Alan Bragg will get right on it…

    This is f–king propaganda.
And she should now, since she likely shovels it every day in her class.

pushed the materials back at the students
Actually, she flung it about and threw it at them. Which is actual violence.

I’m gonna chop you up with this machete!
In a rational, free state, she would have been shot at that point, and the taxpayers probably saved a lot of grief and money. Also, I wonder… will all those shiny new red-flag laws also remove all the machetes from someone’s house when they do crazy crap like this?

    is what is teaching kids
She WAS teaching. Well, she was haranguing; I don’t know how much actual teaching was going on in her class, ever.

She is a self-described “community organizer“.
Oh, well, make her President, then! (I wonder how many mob bosses are kicking themselves, thinking “If only I had called myself a community organizer! Things would be so much easier!”)

    bilateral thumb numbness
Oh yeah, that’s one of the standard “Claim this and we’ll sue them” bits from the anti-cop grifter lawyers.

    And why isn’t she arrested?
Yeah, we all know why. *points back to the comment about a “rational, free state”*

    Some other university or college
Maybe she makes the mistake of joining one in a state with legal campus carry….

Could have been worse. Could have been a choke hold.

She’s a horrible human being, but I can sympathize with treating reporters this way.

This is a reporter from the NY Post which is the only sane newspaper in NYC (The Times and Daily News are hard core Leftist). Do your research before posting!

  • Willard Fleetwood says:

Arrested? Oh please. In NYFC? She be Black!! Probably a direct descendant of Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, and with diplomatic immunity as a representative of the great nation of Wakanda!! She’s going to be hailed as a martyr and rewarded with more pay, even less work, and the acclaim of her peers. Bets?
