As the Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt Supreme Court oral argument unfold this week, The Blaze took their live crew out to conduct “man on the street” interviews with pro-abortion protestors who shared their opinions on when life begins:
The answers were as follows:
“When there is an “electral” impluse to the brain”.
Electral? The same woman who believes in “electral impulses” does not agree that life begins at the detection of a heartbeat. Next?
“It stops being a fetus when it is born”.
Moving right along:
“You’re asking the wrong person”.
Really? Do you know why you’re there? Protesting and stuff? You looked like the “right” person to interview chanting “Repro Rights” at the top of your lungs.
The Blaze saved the best for last…drum roll, please…here comes “Uterus Girl”:
“When a woman decides she’s gonna go for it ‘cuz her life is on the line doin’ it. If a woman wasn’t there, the pregnancy wouldn’t be. If the woman’s gone, you don’t got no pregnancy.”
Yes, that is a direct quote. I swear I could not even make up this stupidity no matter how hard I tried. According to this brain child, if the woman wasn’t there, the pregnancy wouldn’t be. Funny, there are a whole lot of immaculate conceptions occurring in our times…the pregnancy just shows up out of thin air-poof! A man had nothing to do with it AT ALL!
The irony here? These are the same people who argue against religion-that God cannot exist because of “science”-yet they are either completely ignorant and failed biology and sex ed or quick to throw their science overboard when it comes to arguing a point in their favor-despite how outrageous the argument is. Electrical impulses to the brain=alive but a heartbeat provides no indication of life within the womb. The other piece of the puzzle here is the image of the empowered woman. If a woman decides she is gonna “go for it” (as in have intercourse-not an abortion because us smart folks know that sex can sometimes lead to pregnancy), what about exercising precautions such as birth control? If your life is on the line and you don’t want the 3am feedings and diaper changes or to give up your late nights at the bar, perhaps you should take the necessary steps before you go into crisis mode to make sure you never have to set foot in an abortion clinic. Now THAT would be taking matters into your own hands instead of depending on the government to bail you out.
In the video-a poster board sign read:
“Republicans want a government just small enough to fit inside your vagina”.
Yet they will go to the polls and vote for big-government candidates such as Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders. Good luck fitting THAT government where the sun don’t shine.
Funny that the only place the progs don’t want gov’t intruding is in the one place it should – stopping murder.
Your main point has been proven time and time again to me when discussing abortion with almost anyone: almost all people are HUGELY ignorant of everything involved. Pro-Lifers who actually protest or engage others about the matter tend to be the exception.
BTW, most pro-lifers would be more than happy to set a threshold of “electrical impulses from the brain” as the point at which personhood is recognized. That happens at or before the moment the heart begins beating. And that happens before most women are even certain they’re pregnant. That threshold would stop almost all ‘invasive’ abortions, and would be an excellent place to start.
GWB – you always hit the nail exactly on the head
But is ‘electral’ the same as ‘electrical’? She’s the ‘wrong person to ask’. Since these women apparently are nothing MORE than giant pink vaginas (notice what they are wearing) they do not have ‘electrical’ impulses. Nor a heart. Technically they are not even people, therefore they do not get a vote.
