Keith Olbermann (remember him? Former CNN sportscaster?) wants Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard arrested and tried by the military. Why?
Other than the fact that he’s completely bonkers and knows nothing of the Constitution, he claims that they are guilty as sin. Of what? you may reasonably ask, since Olbermann has never been a reasonable person anyway.
They’re “Russian assets,” he says. He also says they belong in jail as enemy combatants to be tried by the military. I’m pretty sure he’d love to see them swinging from a rope, too.
Hey Keith, Joe McCarthy called from the grave. He wants his talking points back.

Have you no decency, Keith Olbermann?
Of course he doesn’t. Olbermann is just another blathering mouthpiece eager to scream “treason” when someone says something he doesn’t like.
Keith Olbermann didn’t think up the treason accusation on his own. No, he was inspired by the yapping harpies on The View, who labeled what Tulsi Gabbard and Tucker Carlson said as “treasonous.”
After a Twitter user called their commentary “deranged,” Keith Olbermann responded with this tweet:
“They are Russian Assets and there is a war. There’s a case for detaining them militarily. Trials are a sign of good faith and patience on the part of democracy.”
But Olbermann and The View gals aren’t the only ones going McCarthy on Tulsi and Tucker.
You’ll remember that Mitt Romney made the same treason noises when Tulsi Gabbard expressed her concerns over biolabs in Ukraine. Worse yet, Tucker Carlson agreed with her. And Sen. Mitt Romney (remember him, too?) would have none of that. So he said that her comments amounted to “treasonous lies.”
However, Tulsi handled Mitt’s hysterics perfectly, tweeting:
“@MittRomney and others say that I’m treasonous because I called for a ceasefire around the 25+ biolabs in Ukraine to prevent the breach of such facilities & escape of pathogens, and prevent more pandemics. Romney should resign.”
Tucker Carlson also responded in an op-ed on Fox News.com:
“So, what exactly did Tulsi Gabbard do? Did she call for a violent overthrow of the United States government? Does she come out and pledge allegiance to Putin? Did she get a Cyrillic tattoo on her neck? No, she didn’t.”
Mitt Romney, have you no decency, either? Apparently not.
And neither do The View harpies or Mitt Romney, either.
Here’s what our Constitution defines as “treason:”
“Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”
Has Tucker Carlson or Tulsi Gabbard waged war against the United States? Hardly — Gabbard is herself an army veteran. But what’s most important here is this: We are not at war with Russia. So they can not have committed treason. And, as such, they cannot give “aid and comfort” to any enemy, either.
You may or may not agree with what Carlson and Gabbard have to say about the biolabs in Ukraine. And it’s also been reported that the Kremlin has urged Russian media to use Tucker Carlson clips for propaganda — which, if true, is troubling. Then again, the original report comes from Mother Jones, so you can take that account with a grain of salt.
But the fact remains: Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard are not traitors. They don’t belong in prison, or tried by the military, or executed for treason. If what they say is inaccurate (and Carlson himself said that the invasion “happened faster than we at this show expected”), time will prove them wrong.
Meanwhile, clowns like Keith Olbermann — as well as The View co-hosts and Mitt Romney — only exhibit their own ignorance when they make such scurrilous and unsubstantiated comments. They also unwittingly parrot Sen. Joseph McCarthy, who fanned the flames of the Red Scare in the early 1950’s. Funny thing, though, I thought people like Olbermann detested McCarthyism. Then again, it’s always whose ox is being gored, isn’t it?

Kim is a pint-sized patriot who packs some big contradictions. She is a Baby Boomer who never became a hippie, an active Republican who first registered as a Democrat (okay, it was to help a sorority sister's father in his run for sheriff), and a devout Lutheran who practices yoga. Growing up in small-town Indiana, now living in the Kansas City metro, Kim is a conservative Midwestern gal whose heart is also in the Seattle area, where her eldest daughter, son-in-law, and grandson live. Kim is a working speech pathologist who left school system employment behind to subcontract to an agency, and has never looked back. She describes her conservatism as falling in the mold of Russell Kirk's Ten Conservative Principles. Don't know what they are? Google them!
Good post Kim.. The only exception I’d take is that by and large, McCarthy was right in those he went after. The left got him shut down and ridiculed because it was people on their side of the isle that were being exposed as communists and traitors. If he’d been allowed to continue, we might not be where we are, on the edge of losing our Republic..
Love Oberman’s response about trials & democracy. When can we expect Hillary’s etal trials?
There’s always Whittaker Chambers’ book WITNESS for further reading.
Make no mistake about it, if the Left has it’s way anyone who fails to follow their party line would face prosecution, imprisonment and personal destruction. Just look at what Castreau did in Canada. Also the Left will be abetted by RINO’s like Mittens.
