Fixing the border crisis, or even showing up to see the issues first hand is NOT Kamala’s job apparently.

That’s news to all of us, given that Biden specifically named her to the position of Border Czar 68 days ago. Well, now we know why she’s been conspicuously absent from the border…and has said very little to the media about her role. 

You see, the border itself isn’t in trouble. The “root causes” of the influx of people is global warming/cooling, LGBTQXYZ issues, racism, and the kitchen sink. So her job is DIPLOMACY don’t you know. 

Harris told participants that “most people don’t want to leave home” and cited a list of factors she said is making people flee those countries.

“We are looking at extensive storm damage because of extreme climate, we’re looking at drought in an area in a region where agriculture is one of the most traditionally important basis for their economy, we’re looking at what’s happening in terms of food scarcity as a result of that and in fact, incredible food insecurity, which we used to call hunger food insecurity,” she said.

“And we are looking at, therefore, a number of issues that also relate to poverty, extreme poverty. And also there’s violence obviously coming out of those regions,” she said. “When you look at the root causes, we’re also looking at issues of corruption. Again, we’re looking at the issue of climate resiliency and then the concern about a lack of economic opportunity.”

Oh, ok. So, lets throw millions of dollars to Central America, and suddenly everyone flocking to the border will stay home? Handing Central and South America pallets of cash will fix the “root causes” of poverty, hunger, violence while solving climate change and boosting those countries economies and the border crisis will magically disappear? That’s some interesting “diplomacy!”

Republican AND Democrat lawmakers along the border have been consistent in their desire to have Kamala visit the border. They’ve been consistent in telling Kamala and the world that she needs to do her damned JOB and that means going to Texas, New Mexico, and California to see the issues… IN PERSON. 

U.S. Rep. Yvette Herrell, R-N.M., is inviting Vice President Kamala Harris to visit New Mexico to see current immigration conditions at the U.S.-Mexico border. In a letter to the vice president May 24, the congresswoman also asked to accompany Harris on her upcoming trip to Mexico and Guatemala.

Herrell, whose congressional district includes nearly 180 miles of the U.S. border with Mexico, called the current border situation a “crisis” in her letter and urged Harris to take a trip to southern New Mexico to get an on-the-ground perspective from borderland residents who Herrell said “continue to fear violence and property damage along the border.”

Kamala’s trip to Mexico and Guatemala takes place later next week. Will she accomplish anything? Who knows given her team is now bluntly insisting that her Border Czar role doesn’t involve the actual ….BORDER. 

Never mind the fact that Biden specifically stated that her role does involve handling the massive influx of illegals at our border, we are supposed to believe that Biden misspoke or something. Instead that whole icky border issue is to be handled by Homeland Security. We are supposed to QUIT ASKING HER QUESTIONS about it. Besides, she gave all the kiddies a book, therefore problem solved! 

Evidently the Harris team is getting frustrated with people wanting Kamala to do her job. So, they sent CNN’s White House reporter in to cover for them. 

This feels like someone running cover for the VP. I incorrectly assumed this was a VP staffer for the first 60 seconds or so before I saw the chyron read “White House reporter”

The issue is BOTH. Kamala was tasked with a job. One that involves dealing with the border issues as well as working with the countries affected by immigration. Evidently, dealing with the border is just too difficult. It’s way more fun to go to other countries, get feted, have some great food, and attempt to give speeches without cackling or cracking stupid jokes.

Throwing money at Central and South America won’t fix the border crisis. Ignoring the realities of the border crisis doesn’t work either. However, Kamala Harris and her team have chosen to ignore the realities and do diplomacy because that’s easier and more “fun.”

This is further proof that Kamala Harris is the epitome of an empty suit that is all hat and no cattle.
