IL GOP Folds Like Cheap Suit After Jihad Squad Pic

Over the weekend, the IL GOP posted an image at its Facebook page of “The Squad” — AOC, Omar, Pressley, and Tlaib. Of course, the image poked fun at the four, because what would you expect from a Republican organization?

However, after the Chicago Tribune ran with the image, the Pubbies folded like a cheap suit, lest Twitter mobs call them racist or something.

After pulling the image from their Facebook page, IL GOP Chairman Tim Schneider called it  “bigoted rhetoric,” and issued this statement:

“My intense disagreement with the socialist policies and anti-Semitic language of these four congresswoman has absolutely nothing to do with their race or religion. I urge everyone who opposes them to keep the rhetoric focused on policy and ideology.”

Just to make sure everyone knew how so, so sorry the IL GOP was, Mark Shaw, Lake County GOP Chairman, also groveled apologized:

“I condemn this unauthorized posting and it has been deleted. I am sorry if anyone who saw the image was offended by the contents.”

Let’s be honest here: their fear of criticism is more intense than any disagreement with the Squad’s policies. Furthermore, no matter how much the GOP bootlicks, woke progressives will never accept their apologies. Die, Republican scum!

Here’s the image. I know you’re dying to see it. You can click to enlarge the image and see that graphically, it’s quite good.

Now the problem with this satiric meme is — what???

Because after 9/11 — you know, “when some people did something” — didn’t all our betters tell us that “jihad” really means “an inner struggle for a spiritual goal”? Certainly it doesn’t mean anything violent, right?

But let’s take the rest of this apart, shall we?

It’s apparently okay with the media that Ilhan Omar refuses to denounce Al-Qaeda. Nor is it a problem if she makes anti-Semitic and anti-Israel comments over and over. Those comments are not unAmerican or offensive to Jews. At least they’re not as bad as the GOP meme.

Nor is it a problem that Rashida Tlaib called President Trump a “motherf*cker.” Oh, and about that recently uncovered video of her shrieking like a banshee while being expelled at a 2016 Trump event? The Detroit Economic Club claimed that Tlaib had fraudulently entered the event. But no problem, move along.

It’s also not so terrible that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently implied that the border patrol are “Nazis” holding illegals in “concentration camps.” She also called President Trump a “fascist,” but never mind.

And it’s okay if Ayanna Pressley smeared Kellyanne Conway as a “Becky,” a slur against white women. In case you missed it, here’s what she tweeted:

“oh hi Distraction Becky. Remember that time your boss tore babies from their mothers’ arms and threw them in cages? Yeah take a seat and keep my name out of your lying mouth.”

None of those are the Unforgivable Sin, like “Jihad Squad.” So now the Chicago chapter of CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, has called upon Gov. J.B. Pritzker to issue an executive order meant to crack down on free “hate” speech. First Amendment? Meh!

You’d think that if the IL GOP had any balls, they’d point these things out. And then they’d tell the Chicago Tribune and the media mob that we’re keeping our meme up, and, oh yeah, sod off.

But they don’t. Never mind that the state of Illinois is losing population, and losing it fast. That people are taking off for neighboring Indiana and Wisconsin because the high taxes are strangling them. No, the IL GOP can’t focus on those piddly problems. Someone just called them out for being “racists,” and now they’re the Worst People in the World. Oh, the horror!

The GOP needs to quit folding like a cheap suit every time the media and the Twitter mob accuse them of “bigotry” and “racism.” Instead, they should become honey badgers.

Because everyone know that honey badgers are crazy, nastyass, and they don’t give a shit. And neither should we.

As a Republican in Illinois, that was STOOPID of them to post that.
    Bad optics.
Yeah, it’s chuckle worthy but it just gives “them” something else to nibble at so real big issues don’t get attention.

  • I disagree, Matthew. The left is pushing for Marxism, or something similar. That’s a real issue. The Girl Socialist Squad is the visible vanguard. They should be mocked mercilessly. Hopefully we’re still at the stage where merciless mocking will derail their plans. Certainly backing down for PC reasons is really terrible… not just bad optics but bad habit to learn.

Agreed, but “Jihad Squad” was not the right way.

      • Scott says:

I see it as they were just using the definition of Jihad that the left wants us to believe. WE all know it’s bullshit, and this image has forced them to admit that their definition is a lie, and ours is accurate, because if theirs was true, they would not find this offensive at all.
I agree with Charles and GWB that these clowns should be mocked mercilessly, and beaten with their own twists and distortions..
Until we worry more about facts than “optics”, we will continue this slide to the destruction of our country.

        • Yes. To hell with “optics.” these are bad people, and we must say so in no uncertain terms. Civility and decorum are lost at this point, because our opponents don’t share our ideas that decency, respect for individuals regardless of their beliefs, liberty, etc. are valuable.

  • GWB says:

While I agree with the mocking (and the quality of the photoshop), it is wise to have it at one small remove from the official GOP apparatus.

However, once it went up, it either needed to stay up or be quietly removed without the damn sucking up to the totalitarian ‘justice’ mob. As Kim notes, can we PLEASE stop sucking up to those who would destroy us?

  • zenman says:

They would have been on more solid ground had they titled it “Social Justice Squad”

    As is, it’s just a click-bait fodder.

Muslim isn’t a race. Communist isn’t a race. Stupid isn’t a race. Unpatriotic isn’t a race. Hasn’t anyone in the GOP learned a thing from Trump? Ignore the baseless accusations and push forward.

  • Sierra Faith says:

    “Google them!”

I would suggest that we learn more about Russell Kirk via DuckDuckGo — Google has long since forgotten its “Don’t be evil” schtick. . . .
