Gavin Newsom: French Laundry, Part Deux

There is not enough greasy hair gel to define how greasy Gavin Newsom is. To appreciate the strong dissonance within this feckless, effete effeme, we journey first back to 2020.

You know? The good, ol’ days. The days where Gavin Newsom, and governors up the left coast told the “peasants” to lock down and avoid hanging out together on Christmas because “we might kill grandma”. The days where we were told we could not send our kids to school because “we might kill the teachers”. The days where people like Gavin Newsom continued on with their lives, sipping wine at holiday get-togethers and making sure their children still got their education at private schools that remained open and under less restrictions.

Enter The French Laundry Part Deux starring Gavin Newsom:

A master of timing that he is, on June 7, Newsom was channeling his inner sommelier, sipping ‘contemporary yet sophisticated’ vino at a Napa Valley winery which he co-founded, according to City Journal. The event, cleverly named ‘Vineyard Vibes,’ was a fundraiser for his sister’s organization, PlumpJack Foundation.”-John Loftus, The Daily Caller

While this was going on in Los Angeles:

A “perfect kickoff” to summer fun.

The timeline is worth noting. The Los Angeles riots broke out on June 6, in response to the Trump administration’s illegal-alien deportation policies. As Newsom sampled wines in Napa Valley the next day, rioters in Los Angeles had already begun vandalizing public buildings, barricading streets, setting vehicles on fire, and throwing rocks, bottles, and cinder blocks at law enforcement officers. That evening, after the wine party had finished, President Trump authorized the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to California, saying that they were needed to ‘address the lawlessness.’

A spokesman for the governor said that Newsom had ‘proudly attended’ the event, which was intended to raise funds for UCSF Cancer Center, ‘in honor of his mother, who died of breast cancer.'”-Christopher F. Rufo, Ryan Thorpe, /City Journal

Apparently, Newsom’s “press office”, did not approve of the direction in which Rufo’s article was headed:

Rufo fired back and it was a thing of beauty. Just like that oaky, full-bodied, red wine with great legs:

Yep, RTWFA (read the whole f—ing article), jackasses. In truth, California is Newsom’s state to govern. I am sure that Gavin Newsom could put on his thinking cap on occasion, and logically think about other ways to honor his sister and support UCSF Cancer Center that do not involve listening to jazz, hob-nobbing with the elites and sipping vino while Los Angeles burns. But this is who he is. And Democrats don’t care because this is who they are. And, to those on the left side of the aisle who are surprised at this behavior, refer back to Le French Laundry Part Un. When people tell you who they are the first time, believe them.

California is plagued with soaring homelessness, elevated crime rates and brutally high costs of living: Even its welcome to illegal immigrants hasn’t prevented a historic switch from growth to decline.

That is: On Newsom’s watch, Cali is for the first time ever losing seats in the House of Representatives because so many residents are fleeing to less-toxic jurisdictions.

The Golden State is a natural near-paradise, but Newsom & co. are destroying it.

That governor is still devoting his time and energy to a years-off national run is damning proof that he doesn’t care a whit for the people of California.”-New York Post Editorial Board

We could call Gavin and the California Democrats “Les Incompetents”, but it is not their competency that is in question here. They are fully aware of their priorities and how they impact those around them and they simply do not care. This is Political Podcasting in the name of Self-Promotion. This is The French (Laundry) Art of Not Giving a F–k. This is Cabernet over Crisis.

This is Gavin Newsom’s California.
