Families Are Racist, Say Democratic Socialists of America

Democratic Socialists hate religion, reason, free markets, and, probably “racist” families, most of all. This panel discussion comes ahead of their National Convention set to take place in Chicago later this week.

The panel, titled ‘The Left and the Family: A Roundtable,’ took place on July 4 and was part of the Socialism Conference in Chicago. The video was uploaded to YouTube on Friday, and DSA wrote in the caption that the nuclear family is ‘an inherently repressive, racist, and hetero-sexist institution that functionally reinforces and reproduces capitalism.'”-Hayden Cunningham, The Post Millennial

The masked warriors (yes, it is 2025 and they’re still wearing these ugly accessories) went on for a full hour and fifteen minutes. But, we’ll sum it up for you. 1) They would luuuurve to perform abortions in churches. 2) Marriage is basically prostitution. 3) Sex work is cool. 4) The economic unit of the family must be dismantled; children belong to the “collective”.

If only. Let’s spotlight these sad, angry women who hate families.

Emily Janakiram New York City for Abortion Rights (NYCAR). She’s from Brooklyn (of course, she is). NYCAR is an “intersectional, abolitionist, socialist-feminist collective of activists who believe NYC needs an unapologetic grassroots movement to fight for full abortion and reproductive justice”.

OOOf. Except justice for the unborn. Because families are oppressive and racist. Roger that.

University of Chicago’s sociologist Eman Abdelhadi, who loves Zohran Mamdami and describes his work as “the kind of work we need to be doing”. She idealizes a “liberatory horizon” in which food, housing, education, and care are collectivized.

To quote a Commie, John Lennon, Imagine, all the People…(who were allowed the right to be born). The blue-haired plant lady next door responsible for feeding and teaching your kid? These people are off their rockers. Abdelhadi was the “moderate” of the crowd. After all, other “countries have welfare states and the U.S. has women”.

So oppressive, this country is!

Then, there’s Katie Gibson, a Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow at the University of Chicago. Gibson, who also hates families, and claims that children born into low-income families are “treated as if they have committed a crime.” To quote, “If you are born into a home headed by a Christian fundamentalist tyrant, for instance, you have the rights that that Christian fundamentalist tyrant gives you.” She also drew a comparison to President Donald Trump as a tyrant for children under state care.

TDS much, Katie? But Katie’s been on this upending the nuclear family schtick for a while, now. And, she loves to quote other pseudo-intellectual morons in her work:

The world around the family is not a pre-existing harsh climate against which the family offers protection and warmth. It is as if the family had drawn comfort and security into itself and left the outside world bereft. As a bastion against a bleak society it has made that society bleak. It is indeed a major agency for caring, but in monopolizing care it has made it harder to undertake other forms of care… Caring, sharing and loving would be more widespread if the family did not claim them for its own.”-Michèle Barrett and Mary McIntosh, The Anti-Social Family

How has family made a society bleak and the outside world bereft? And, please. Caring, sharing and loving would be “widespread” if the Socialists took over?! These child-free, pro-abortion, family abolitionists, for the most part, do not see the impacts of students at schools who grow up in broken families. But, alas, they don’t care. The state can throw a bunch of Social-Emoional Learning at this problem, all while providing school psychologists to encourage the child to transition their gender, and not tell the one parent who is present in the relationship. This is their idea of caring, sharing and loving. Who needs Dad, anyway? The male is a glorified sperm donor here. Families=bad. Dysfuntion=good.

It takes a village, right, Hills?

Family abolition, far from being about tearing any existing bonds apart, is based in the kind of love Sophie Lewis describes at the beginning of her treatise on family abolitionism: ‘to love a person is to struggle for their autonomy as well as for their immersion in care.'”-Katie Gibson

Really? Nothing says “families” and “loving a person for their autonomy” like ending their lives before they exit the womb, Ms. Gibson. WTF is this woman even talking about?

The inconvenient truth here is that autonomy begins with the first heartbeat. That autonomy, begins with another person having the autonomy but making decisions for you. This person is usually your mother. She, ultimately decides, when she hears your heartbeat for the first time, if you get to live or die. These women all had the privilege of being born yet they claim women are “victims” of an archaic model of the American family. That American families are toxic to the socialist utopia they envision-oppressive, even. Yet, they are so tone-deaf, they advocate for more oppression. They think The State making decisions for autonomous Americans is a great idea. This is what a political science/liberal arts degree gets you today. An inability to rationalize and reason the utter BS that is the socialist ideology.

Be on the lookout for more gold from the Democratic Socialists of America Convention in Chicago. Want to attend? It will cost you $225 evil, racist, American dollars. And, the comrades are taking donations, too. Leave the deodorant, grab the KN95 and your Che Guevara shirt.
